Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I'm aware of that, thus the ' ', but since people want theirs sealed, undoubtedly multiple copies would be purchased (with the limit at 2).

EDIT: Ah I see, it's 6,000 for these ones. Good for PS4!

I think every copy will show the same cover on the front? So there's no way to show the alternate cover and still be sealed.

Or do you mean people would have one sealed and one unsealed copy?

Suddenly got super busy at work and figured I'd missed it by the time I got back to my desk, went to checkout with both and it said they'd sold out, tried again and no longer sold out! Managed to get a copy of both about 15mins after they went live thankfully.
Same here. Glad to have both games, even if it took a few attempts!

NISA just opened pre-orders for The Silver Case (PS4) limited edition and it's pretty much the same as the one LRG made for the PC version.

I'll probably just buy Silver Case for PS4 digital, cheap at some point. $30 ain't bad and I know I'd dig it, but it's not something I'm hype to play immediately.

A Vita port could get day 1 premium physical import money out of me, though. Funny that.

Yep figured they would just take the work done on the PC LE and release it for the PS4. Looks like the page counts are slightly different.

So the Silver Case PS4 is basically the same but you get a poster too.

Really wish they could have waited longer so I didn't wish I held out.

I'm a bit bummed out about the whole Silver Case thing because I would've preferred a PS4 LE but it is what it is, I love Suda, got my steam key out of it and I've been enjoying the game.

Still, obviously not the Limited Run games guys' fault but I can't help but feel it's a bit of a bummer considering this was my first LGR purchase. Doesn't feel as special now considering the PS4 LE looks pretty much identical and it appears to includes more? :/

What was even weirder is that they announced the PS4 release when the LRG order window was still open. Probably turned off a number of people considering getting the LRG release from actually ordering.

Even weirder it was only a day before the LRG window ended. They couldn't have just waited one more day.

Well on the bright side yours is actually limited. The PS4 version probably has significantly more copies.

Yeah, I know. I do think that feels like less of a consolation when they're so similar, but I shouldn't complain. It's still a damn nice LE.

Said it before, but NISA can distribute the game in all of EU and NA, which LRG can't offer. There's nothing to be salty about. They should be happy they were able to do a cool Japanese game and that's that.

If a game can sell ww at retail, and they think Silver Case can, there's no reason to go with LRG. That would be a terrible idea.

EDIT: You can still do Vita later :p

But will the PS4 copies be individually numbered? And come with Steam keys? And have DRM-free copies on discs that can be used on future hardware? I think not

Here's a look at everything Skullgirls will have to offer come Monday:

Fun Fact: Skullgirls will be the first (and probably last) Vita game with a slipcover!

The Japanese CE of Galgun already beat you to the punch with that one. However, SG will be the first GOOD Vita game that has a slip case ;) And that looks like a really nice set, I already have the Asian version but might be tempted to go after the LRG version depending on the price.

I hope the instruction manual is nice. Great character portraits next to bios and a few basic moves like an arcade insert would have. No need for notes, legal or language filler, but enough pages to have a little heft would be cool too.

So far, Xeodrifter's manual has been the closest to giving me that NES manual feel thanks to all it's art work. Even that was a little skimpy, though. I get what Thomas Was Alone was going for, but it was almost Kojima-esque in that I can't tell if it was meta, satire, or just phantom pains.

I'd have loved a Working Designs-style, deluxe manual for One Way Heroics.

I realise the answer to this will almost certainly be "no", but would it be possible to have a version of the Skullgirls release that includes both formats, but only one of the soundtrack CDs and manuals? (I'm assuming that the manual won't fit in the Vita box and will be separate, as in Xseed's deluxe editions) I'm was planning on pre-ordering both formats, but I don't have any real need for two soundtrack CDs.

Neat! Is that a translated manual from the Japanese release?

Edit:

(I'm assuming that the manual won't fit in the Vita box and will be separate, as in Xseed's deluxe editions)

Marvelous, XSEED's parent, actually has in-case manuals for most/all of their Vita games. IA/VT, Luminous Arc Infinity, and Valkyrie Drive all had one at least. Marvelous was responsible for the physical Japanese release of SG.

Someone else asked this on Twitter, so I'm looking into it.

I think the savings would only be like $5, though - if that were the case, would it still be worth it to you?

And, yes, the manual will be the same for both the PS4 and Vita versions.

We looked into the Vita manual, but our concern was that it'd be hard to read without significant layout changes, and we're already near the max page count, so expanding everything isn't really an option, either.

I do realise that it is possible for in-case manuals on Vita games, but I don't recall any US publisher (including Xseed, hence all the special editions for their physical Vita games) ever doing that. I'm also assuming there's a noticeable cost saving in only printing in a PS4 size. Could be an incorrect assumption, of course.

I am 99% sure Arc Systemworks published the physical Japanese release. Unless ArcSys has a Japanese distribution deal I'm not aware of.

...well, there we go. As for the price, we'll see (another assumption to my plan was that it would be a base $25 release. :v) but I'll probably have a better idea about how my finances are looking next week.

LRG already had releases with Vita size manuals

What's the cut-off date for orders? When will we know if it reached 10k copies? When will it be produced? When should we expect orders to get shipped?

11/14.

And we'll let you know when it hits 10k copies - not sure if there will be a counter built into the site, or what. Still working that out.

And production should begin shortly after the pre-orders close, when we know if the Japanese voices are going in or not.

As for when they'll ship, I'd expect early January.

Unless it's actually a cost issue, I'm pretty sure that almost anyone would prefer an actual Vita manual that's hard to read to this. That thing would just lie around somewhere with no way to store it and get damaged or lost

Over here in Europe there are some Vita games with fairly chunky multilanguage manuals.

e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idMZ5Lf_udI&t=1m37s

Surprised to hear you would exceed that number of pages with just a single language to cover.

We'll investigate the Vita manual thing further - if legibility really isn't an issue, maybe it won't be one!

Huh, that looks like more than the 56 pages we were quoted - maybe EU has different rules?

Either way, I'll look into it.

I'll bust out a magnifying glass if I have to.
