Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I'm okay with this. Do it up boys.

I'm not. Would much rather import from Asia than have to struggle to get a LRG version.

I mean, I appreciate all that they're doing, but I've missed two games already despite being there when the stock was released so have had to buy overpriced eBay versions. Not having to go through that stress for Atelier would be a plus.

You go tell that to KT because I mean, I don't care. If LRG gets the contract there's going to be a bit more than usual produced. If it's at least Oddworld numbers than there's no reason why you can't get a copy if you really want one.

But so far, we never got an Asian English release for the Vita Atelier titles, so it's nothing really new there.

True, the volume of stuff they release which seems to be getting Asian-English versions was already pretty high and seemed to increasing (Attack on Titan), so there was always a possibility.

Oddworld was one of the two games I was there for and still couldn't get a copy :p

Euro people beware. Oddworld had a USD 7 value so no problems. But Futuridium had the actual price. Which is going to suck customs-wise.

But wasn't oddworld up for at least a day...? Or did it have to do with the fact that they have a shitty shop that chooses to work on it's own schedule?

I was fine getting Futuridium in the UK with no customs charge, which is surprising since I've had a terrible run of luck with customs grabbing my stuff lately.

Oddworld's second batch was up for a few hours for the PS4 version, but the Vita version sold out in a couple of minutes. Which is strange as I expected it to be the other way round, even with the PS4 version getting a larger print run.

PS4 version was up for a while I believe, Vita version certainly wasn't. Not even long enough for me to get a copy seconds after it had gone live :p

My Futuridium was marked with 5 USD. Oddworld however still went through customs, despite the 7 USD mark. I had to show them the actual bill and was charged with about 14€...

What happens if you say you "lost" the actual bill?
You request a new one from the vendor. Sometimes they also accept PayPal emails. It's nearly impossible to completely "lose" an invoice so they won't buy that excuse. After a while it's returned to the sender.

Next time I order something from LRG (Xeodrifter is next, I think?) I'm going to need to pick up on some protective cases; didn't order them with Futuridium because I didn't want to miss out due to the small print run. I had a problem when I was ordering Oddworld; I put the cases in my cart ahead of time like usual, but when I went to the checkout I was told the Vita cases were out of stock. Missing cases for Oddworld Vita and both versions of Futuridium, but no delays allowed when ordering!

Shipments to Canada seem to arrive last... Any one in Canadaland receive Futuridium yet?

Got mine earlier in the week! I really like the art on both versions.

Just had to pay €22 customs fees. On top of that, the PS4 version arrived slightly damaged.

Not pleased. :(

(I know I could've bought a shipping box but previous orders arrived fine :/ )

yeah overall it doesn't look like the fulfillment center is any improvement for international customers. I wish LRG would talk to us about this

a bit worried about the future for us

This is how mine arrived :(. Luckily the cover is mostly ok so I can replace the box. I'm mostly pissed about the customs though. I paid €37 in shipping+customs now. If that's gonna be the new standard I can't justify buying every release from now on.

How can they justify that much in customs?
That is nuts.

So, not many options left for LRG...

They can continue with the shipping company and internationals will just have to bite the bullet and pay customs... or they can return back to the old way of doing things with the slowly shipping times. Either way people gunna bitch.

I'm not bitching either way, I completely understand the issue they're facing.

I haven't even received my Oddworld from the 1st run yet...

Yeah, I can imagine how many chargebacks and paypal claims they have coming from internationals who didn't receive the game in a timely manner... Some people gunna be getting games for free I suppose. If or when they show up... Another downside to catering for everybody.

Can't say shipping times for Futuridium were any faster than any of the previous releases I got, if anything it seemed slightly slower than Oddworld.

That's really a non complaint from me though, as long as the items arrived and aren't torn apart on arrival I'm happy. I love what they do and will be picking up all their Vita releases (maybe get a couple of PS4 ones if stuff like Salt and Sanctuary get released).

Yeah, same here. I couldn't care any less how long the item takes to get to me. Well, a year might be pushing it but ya'll know what I mean. As long as it arrives in one piece and loose disc free - I'm happy.

If the end result is that everyone has to pay customs that's fine, I have to plan that in and just buy fewer games. Not optimal, but acceptable. It's okay of that's the best solution for everyone. But I'd like to know that BEFORE I buy, and currently everyone is finding out about the customs and shipping method only when the package arrives. It's more of a gamble than it needs to be and LRG needs to communicate with us.

That is nuts.
Its the customs fee that kills it. Not sure where he lives, but in my country, the fee is the same if the value of the package is €50 or €5000. It makes sense because it takes about the same time to do the paperwork even if the value is different on the package. But when the value of the package is small, the fee can feels expensive in comparison.

Customs verification used to be more of a random thing in the EU. But in recent years the process has become more systematic and it seems once an item is valued above the clearance threshold they hit you with VAT and all sort of handling fees. Actual customs fees only start to hit on much higher priced items.

Same, time is not a factor, so this post is just a comparison for LRG to know how the new method compares to the previous method... Oddworld had a shipping label created on May 5th, delivered on May 19th (Australia)... 14 days...

For Futuridium, the first track was the 17th (Parcel Data Recieved), that page also has a USPS tracking number (which I just realised) and that has one track of "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS" on the 20th May.

If we follow the same timeframe that Oddworld had, then it will be anywhere from May 31st onwards, and that will only match the Oddworld, so the new method isn't really faster at all for us here.

I'm also playing the "why dont people scan the damn packages when they reach checkpoints again"... none of the tracking suggests it's left anyway really... it will be one of those things that just turn up...

Just picked up my copies of Futuridium from the post office (tracking had it 'clear' customs twice). Got hit for €22 in customs as well :(. On the plus side no loose discs or damaged cases, but I really hope they change shipping back to the way it was before. The wait was just as long but due to customs the price was way higher.

Not anything that hasn't been mentioned in this topic a dozen times, so no direct criticism, just getting it of my chest.
