Welp, looks like this is happening. Not from LRG though, and no Vita.

November 18.

Damn hell yes I am so down for that. The art looks great I almost bought it last week too. Glad I waited!

So keen for the triple Shantae PS4 games in the next month too!

I finally tried out Rainbow Moon last night. Liked it a lot! Progression probably slows down to a halt as you continue, but in the first hour or two, building up the character was enjoyable. The point where you go from 1 sub action to 2 makes you feel invincible for a minute. Barely wanted to stop playing, kept thinking, 'just a couple more...'

We actually originally had Slain signed but the publisher (Digerati, not Merge) had retail ambitions for Europe. I was uneasy about doing it as it seemed clear that once the Limited Run release was out, a European retail release would happen. We signed it shortly after releasing Breach & Clear, so at the time I was looking to sign whatever I could.

In the end, we mutually terminated the contract as I don't think it was the right fit for either of us. Ultimately I'd prefer to focus on games that wouldn't receive traditional retail packages.

I really wonder how profitable these European releases are. I just can't imagine that thay do any significant numbers relative to the costs and the risk.

Well, now you can sign for a vita only release, since it won't be released by Digerati.

Go after the Vita version which won't be receiving a physical release!

Vita release??

I will buy Steamworld because Steamworld Dig alone deserves a release and it's a perfect handheld game. No idea about Slain because everything I heard was mixed, even after the "relaunch". Would have to try it first

A bit surprised nobody else's commended you for this yet. I can imagine when you had just started out as a publisher, and weren't sure yet how things were going to play out, it would've been really tempting to release the game regardless. The Digerati one was still going to be a European release after all.

A very brave decision.

Yeah, very true, kinda skimmed past that in my excitement for a Vita version. Well done LRG.

Also, my Dragon Fantasy arrived at 9pm last night, thought I should throw that in here too!

Odd that Pirate's Curse alone is 5 extra. I guess they wanted the price to be at parity with the 3DS version?

Thank you sir, updated.
I'll add the art after I get off work since I can't access Flickr from here.

Shit, I hope I remember the Shantae games. I'm going to be out of town... on the opposite side of the country and without a computer. Hopefully ordering works smoothly on my phone.

6000, wonder how long it'll take them to sell out of these.

It is really 5,800 each since WayForward keeps 100 and we keep 100. With the popularity of Shantae, I don't expect these to last long. We're also supposed to have a Game Informer article in the newest issue which I (hope) will drive some more attention this month. No idea if the article will actually make it out this month, though.

Also, don't know if anyone caught it - but iam8bit delayed the physical release of Rez. Sony manufacturing is really hard to predict and that is one of the many reasons we don't do preorders on our PlayStation products.

iam8bit doesn't even know what that delay means

The site says winter, but when asked on twitter they say "Winter doesn't mean December!" and that it'll only be a few weeks aftter the original late oct date.

How do seasons work

Really ? Daaaamn ! I ended up buying one because I really wanted to offer the Undertale vinyl as a gift. I hope this delay won't delay the vinyl... although it's likely it may get delayed on its own ^^'

Wonder if they think the end of November is winter because it is hard to think that it could snow in the fall. i mean, techinically the beginning of December is Fall?

With all 3 Shantae games coming out so soon, I wish there was some way we could get the first game on physical media that isn't the original one that costs hundreds of dollars.

Given how lazy the PS4 port of Risky's Revenge is, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed by Sony to put straight up GBC ports on the console. I wouldn't mind it and I wouldn't mind seeing the first Shantae on consoles.

Is it that bad? In what way is it lazy?

I'm not doubting it, just truly asking. I want to purchase the game this month, but won't do so if there is a crap job with it.

It's just the same game on a big screen, so it looks very pixelated because of the low original resolution. Don't know what's lazy about, I certainly didn't notice anything wrong with it.

It's a straight port of a DS game, not a remake

This is disappointing to me since people will likely vote no.

I would still buy it regardless but having the JPN VO would be nice since a lot of the seiyus I like voice the characters.

Well, the Skullgirls import with English text/menus has Japanese VO from my time playing it. Might as well publish an English version, if they can't fit it all, I guess.

That is fantastic to hear! I really hope that you and Grasshopper collaborate again in the future. Really reassuring to see there is still a demand for classic "kill the past"-era Grasshopper.

A physical copy of Sine Mora on Vita would be... so, so good.

So uhm... regarding Steamworld Collection on Vita:

That's blatant, lol :P

Excellent.

Nothing wrong with it except that it really looks like a DS game with no enhancements or extra settings. It feels low effort. Not a bad game or like it's broken or anything and I'm buying it myself.

It was mostly to get through that if Sony allows a pretty straight DS port then I don't see why a straight GBC port would be problematic.

Ok, that doesn’t bother me then.

Thanks.

Sounds just like the Steam version then, which yeah looks dated and low res cause that's what the game is. It plays fine.
