PSRR support isn't system wide or auto enabled, this has been confirmed by a few developers working on the Pro.
So either these people spread bs, or this feature is pretty much what we already had on PS5 in principle.
But we'll see in a few days.
Nope.

Enhanced Image Quality for PS4 games is also available to improve the resolution on select PS4 games.

“Image Quality Boost” feature that allows simple upscaling without the need for Playstation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). Aoki says that PS5 Pro players can turn this setting on, should they wish to use it.

PS4 games already get a quality boost on the standard PS5, but Aoki’s statement suggests that there’s an additional PS5 Pro setting that can be turned on for further improvement. This will, of course, need to be tested when the console launches, so the jury is still out.

Sounds like a sort of non-AI upscale exclusive to Pro.

I have a handful of PS4 games in my backlog, waiting to be played on PS5 Pro. In particular two of them, Ni no Kuni II and Rise of the Tomb Raider, that for some reason kept hard-locking my PS4 Pro and never got the chance to play. Probably it was some kind of bug that affected early PS4 Pro's, because I've played way more intensive games afterwards with 0 issues.

Playing NnKII and RoTR at 4k/60FPS and pristine image quality? Yes, thanks. I also really want to replay Nier Replicant/Automata, and a few other games, on that beast.

That's still a $57K Bronco! It's really nice, dude. In contrast, I drive a 2025 Kia K5. It's also nice, but I'd rather have your Bronco.

Very close on the price, it was stickered at $65 with the options I ordered and could have bought out right at $58

They gave me a great price for my trade which was paid off so paid $10k cash difference

Btw Kia is likely the most amazing car brand the last few years with the quality they have been putting out

A friend just bought a lower end Telluride and that thing has nice features for a supposed lower end and quality inside is super nice

Just wondering what everyone thinks of the leak on resetera about the pro setting found in the menus that apparently can improve PS4 image quality ? PSSR ?

Edit. I see it's mentioned above.

Have played a decent amount of games with Demon's Souls looking the best

Have to sadly admit something not sure I have seen a $700 difference but its early.
Pro is not a new generation so this is understandable. Can you try dragon games? Age and dogma. Both these games looks not so good on the base ps5.

Some kind of AA that makes them look better? Obvsiously not PSSR quality, more something like FXAA

Its not the boost mode because it specifically mentions PS4 games not PS5

I'm hoping this is what I think it is - using PSSR as a sort of dumb upscaler ie. doesn't have to be integrated into the game engine, but instead takes a 1080p image and interpolates it to 4K. There are examples of programs doing this like Lossless Scaling or the FSR scaling built into the Steam OS.

I'm guessing Sony could internally force PS4 output to 1080p (like the PS4 Pro's downscaling) and then rescale it back to 4K with PSSR.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.

Enhanced on/off
Probably not the best game to test it on, but you know peoples obsession with it.

Thanks, it looks definetly a bit sharper but fundamentally the same.
It will be interesting to learn what they're doing, probably a different upscaler with a sharpening filter.
Compression doesn't help

But Bloodborne isn't going to look radically better due to all the post processing going on.
I would have tried something like NIER or Assassins Creed Unity myself.

In that zoomed picture you can see the added white pixels around lines and the darker dark pixels, maybe something akin to CAS from AMD?

This guy streaming horizon on the pro lol. 1080p though.

At this point, sony should just let the floodgate open.
