Miyamoto made a bunch of tech demos just to show off the Wii U's GamePad. He doesn't really need to do that for a handheld that's been around for four years and probably has two years left at best.

And even if it is a tech demo or casual thing, that's probably why it's a roundtable a day after Nintendo's main show, because they wanted to show it off without making people upset during the main video thing.

90 Minute roundtable for a tech demo or casual thing? No chance surely.

Sounds like a big game to me, especially with it being the only 3DS game shown by Nintendo over the whole of E3 (SSB was known).

Well, this isn't my opinion, but here goes:

I think many feel that Miyamoto has lost the edge that made him so good - many assert that Pikmin was his last good franchise, and that his most recent attempts have not lived up to the standard he set. Project Giant Robot and Project Guard were met with decidedly mixed reception - regardless of how early they are in development. Wii Music also has left a stain on his name.

Furthermore, some see his influence as detrimental to the games he supervises, with the most common example being Paper Mario Sticker Star.

I've only really scratched the surface, but Miyamoto has received a fair amount of stick recently, and many do not seem to trust him anymore. Deserved? No idea.
