Liveblog thread for 3DS new Nintendo IP announcement (Code Name STEAM)

Way too hyped for this! I badly need something good to play on my 3DS. I've decided to lend mine to my nephew for a while until something that interests me comes along.

Treehouse guys are saying they are going to show the game on the Treehouse stream tomorrow, so it's not a pre-alpha like Project Guard and Giant Robo.

I don't even care what the game is at this point - the thread is entertaining enough on it's own.

Maybe the game is a Nintendo Announcement Hype Simulator. I'd buy it

I've said it before and I'll say it again, its has to be amiibo related - what other game do they need to spend that much time on explaining?

So Majora's Mask with each mask coming out as a toy confirmed.

Never thought I'd see the day people look down on a new Miyamoto IP. Wii Music was a massive miss, but those two demos were early stuff, and he even said he was embarrassed to show it off. We're talking about the grandfather of game design and people aren't at least a little interested?

someone is taking pictures, tsk tsk tsk

That's an awful lot of purple lighting. I wonder if there will be two announcements tonight.

Game will be shown tomorrow:

Tomorrow's #Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ #E3 will feature a demo of the new Nintendo IP being announced tonight.

Great. For a moment I was thinking we wouldn't see it. Nintendo keeping the hype going. Hope this is interesting.

Brand new IP, ughhh boring. lol

Lmao what. People are complaining about a new IP? People cry about new games in the same old franchises all of the time here, but now that we are getting a new IP you guys are disappointed it isn't a new entry into an old series you like.

This statement doesnt even make sense - so if they wait till 2018 for a successor you wont consider the 3DS a failure ?

It's failure won't be based on an arbitrary date, but rather it's library/offerings. I want more than just 90% of it's AAA lineup being Nintendo first party.b (At least nowhere near the amount of the DS).

The DS was a JRPG machine...and now, it's successor has a handful, in which half of them aren't even available in PAL territories.
