Yeah, the Chalk Farm one is probably the best, but if we're meeting at Macclesfield St then we would have to get the tube there and since some people will be coming from outside of London it's probably best to go somewhere within walking distance.

The timing of this is unfortunate for me... I'm meant to be marshalling on the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 11th, so I'd have to leave on Saturday night or catch a crack of dawn train to Bath. I suppose I could drive, it would be cheaper... I've driven to my mates place in Ealing before and that wasn't too bad - I wouldn't want to drive any deeper into London though.

Depending on what days I have to have briefings for the half marathon, I may or may not come to this... it sounds cool though, if I can't come to this one, I'll definitely do the sequel!

What do you class as cheap? You can stay in Stratford or Docklands Ibis for £70 a night or less. They're not central London but not too far out on the tube. there are also hostels but I've never stayed in one in London so can't say what they're like.

There's a few good hostels around (I've used a LOT and had bad and good experiences).

The YHA Youth Hostel near Kings Cross/St Pancras is really good if you don't mind sharing rooms (they are all single-sex though, take that as you will!!).

Pretty clean rooms and the food prices there were fantastic for London rates...
