One thing-- the commercial break edit that killed the Jack/Man in Black battle sequence momentum :lol
Good point. :lol ok, one exception.

Probably mentioned, but why didn't Ben enter the church?

He wasn't ready yet. He probably didnt think he deserved to go. Or he was waiting for Alex

VOZZEK's article is amazing. My god everyone who has ever watched lost needs to read this.

He doesn't feel ready to move on yet, at least with that group. Think about it, he made most of their lives a living hell. Would've been so many awkward hugs :lol

The best editing was after Jack killed MIB / Locke it switches to the X timeline and the nurse says "Nice work, Dr. Shephard." :lol

yeah that was simply awesome, I thought it was hilarious. :lol :lol :lol

God, how awesome is the fact that we're getting an epilogue with BEN of all people

I didn't expect the guy to survive this season, much less be completely redeemed in my eyes AND get to feature in an epilogue with Hurley :lol

I'm a bit annoyed that the finale came down to Jack killing Locke in a cliffside fistfight. That's not something that makes sense for the series to end on.

good thing there was another 40 minutes huh

Actually it was quite poetic if you take into account this scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxafHjBwoEM

with this bit of dialogue:

LOCKE: Is that all of them?

JACK: All 6 of them. And there's uh, 1 box of ammo.

[Jack removes the box ammo and hands it to John, who puts it with rest.]

LOCKE: At least we don't have to worry about running out any time soon. Jack, I'm grateful that you decided to keep them all in the same place. [Jack notices the Virgin Mary statues.] Oh, I had to take them from Charlie -- his heroin stash. I figure it might have therapeutic value, if it ever came to that.

JACK: You're just going to leave it all in the statues?

LOCKE: You want to break 7 Virgin Maries, be my guest. I'm superstitious.

JACK: John, the combination.

LOCKE: I'm going to go ahead and assume that you're asking me because you're worried that I might fall off a cliff or something, that it would be irresponsible for just one of us to have access to this room, rather than this being an issue of trust.

JACK: Well, there are a lot of cliffs on this island, John.

LOST

I also loved feeling like evil/MIB could win over good in The End. From the moment they get to the cave onward, it really FELT like it could go either way. Desmond seeing the skeletons in the wave was the first moment I realized, "Oh shit, this isn't going to be easy."

And even though I knew Jack wouldn't go out like that, the knife point ON this throat for so long? Terrifying.

These are heart melting and true to my imagination of how they ended up.

In another S1 episode, when Jack is getting married, Christian mentions that Jack's problem is that he can't "let go." Ho-ly shit..
Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Yep I appreciated how raw and brutal it was. I mean there could always be more punches thrown and blood flying everywhere, but it was handled great and didn't feel weak at all. And the cinematography was incredible.

You cant complain about a badass scene like that.

But for me, the finale came down to Ben apologizing to Locke in front of the church. For me, that was the end of Lost. Dont know why.

I thought it was perfect. Wonderfully shot and really captured a sense of danger.

And the shot of Flocke watching his boat rock in the gray ocean was pretty amazing. Subtle, but amazing.

Don't forget Locke spends season 3/4 trying to prevent Jack from leaving the island.

Yea it's awesome, sure. I was just staring at that badass background of Locke/Jack facing each other and couldn't understand why they were fighting. How the two of them fighting to death could possibly be the climax of the show. That's not what I would have wanted, at any point in this thing's run.

It was Jack and the Man in Black. Not Locke. MIB had to go. He's the central antagonist of the show. In an epic story like this you usually close it out with a final battle.

The only way the fight scene could have been cooler was if real John Locke erupted out of heaven, stripped Kate, phoenix down-ed Illana and then stripped her, then made them have sex while Sawyer did his Snakes on a Plane 2 dance, and then Locke Commando-double-punches Flocke, who EXPLODES to reveal Naomi, NAKED.

THE ONLY WAY

Maybe he was expecting something a little more supernatural. I was honestly a bit surprised when Desmond made MIB mortal, because the whole time I was expecting MIB's demise to be crazier, like the smoke monster dying or something, but once he became mortal, I thought (and yelled) "OOOOOOH SHIT!"

But I still couldn't expect the awesomeness of the final fight.

Juliet vs Kate's handcuff match is still by far the best rain fight in the show's history. Even MIB gave himself ringside seats for that epic bout.

Super Jack vs. MIB get's second. And I'd give Jack vs Ethan bronze.

Sigh. Feels like it was just yesterday thinking, "That ugly fucker can fight!"

I would have liked MIB to revert back to Titus Welliver after the cork was pulled

That would have been really great I think. I thought the same thing at work today. I was supposed to be doing my job, but I was thinking about Lost. Shhhh.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but knowing what we know now..

Does that mean the "production error" of Desmond wearing the wedding ring in LAX wasn't an error but a subtle hint?

I'm going with production error that conveniently ironed itself out in the end.

I thought the same thing, but in the end I do like how Jack freaked out and started punching at smoke only to be surprised that it was effective :lol

Has anyone commented yet on how the zombie season that Damon and Carlton have always been hinting at in podcasts actually happened? They were telling us all along!

Man...I just fired up the Pilot and am only like, 5 minutes in and feel like weeping.

This feels like a million years ago. So many great characters. Fuck.

Jack points at Claire to Fallen-over-Hugo: "Stay with her!"

Hugo: "Dude...I'm not goin' anywhere"

:lol

I would have liked to have seen that too. I'm kind of bummed we didn't get to see him again.

Dead said:
"by the way, the names not Locke, its"

Jack cuts him off

"I dont care what your name is"

Followed by Jack dragging his ass like Jacob did and throwing him off the cliff. :lol

I think the Hurley/Ben epilogue being exclusive to the complete collection, if that's true, is really unfair. I want to see it, but I'm not rebuying the show for fifteen minutes of new Lost.
