I sorta knew that the show was heading towards a "reconciliation" of the timelines, and although it was adequately done here, it could have done with more tact and a bit more of exposition. I left satisfied though.

On one hand, some people still don't get it after Christian explained the whole thing, so maybe you're right :lol .

On the other, nah.

Tell me I'm not the only one...

Edit: Hmm... Maybe this belongs more in the 'Write the finale' thread.

Now it's really the time for me to go to sleep. I still can't believe it's actually over, so unreal.

It was fun GAF, thanks. See you in another life brotha's

I was thinking. Imagine going through the series for the first time, being in the middle of Season 2 and having someone show you the Jack/Flocke fight scene from The End. Would anyone be able to compute?:lol :lol

""This show is about people who are metaphorically lost in their lives, who get on an airplane, and crash on an island, and become physically lost on the planet Earth. And once they are able to metaphorically find themselves in their lives again, they will be able to physically find themselves in the world again. When you look at the entire show, that's what it will look like. That's what it's always been about." - Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof, IGN interview, January 16, 2007"

THEY FUCKING LIED TO US.

I was referring more to the on island events, and what did the change of power/leadership really entail there. But really, that wasnt a major point imo.

Did anyone get the impression that Vincent looked like a puppy in that final scene with Jack? Obviously it wasn't the same dog, but I think they specifically went out of their way to get a younger dog, possibly to tie in to the whole theme of rebirth.

All were pretty golden, but of what you posted, I'd pick Claire/Charlie. Simply because it has been YEARS since that relationship has been touched upon. Kate was just there, though logical that it would be the birth to wake her. It was all about Claire and Charlie. Hell, Mostly Charlie. Him breaking up destroyed me.
No way was Kate "merely there." She had the best line of that scene when Charlie came back with the blankets and he hadn't awakened yet but both Kate and Claire had - they both look at Charlie with genuinely happy looks of admiration. Kate grabs for Charlie and says "Thank you." That got me because she was obviously talking about how he died for them.

Maybe, since they were hating on eachother by then.

Why is it that no one`s listing the Charlie/Claire flashback as one of the most emotional moments in the episode ? it definitely got to me.

That'd be my...#2/3 I think.

#1 is definitely the end. Jack's death/church scene. I don't think I've ever been hit that hard.

That may have been Dominic's finest acting moment on Lost.

Speaking of the hatch, how AWESOME was Bender's recreation of the iconic final shot of S1, this time with MIB and Jack looking down as the camera tracks down the pit? SO awesome.

Is it possible that THIS was the last shot of the show? Because they used a job on that one, too. I think this one makes more sense than shooting a rainy fight scene in the wee hours of the morning after a 20 hour day.

I'm actually convinced this was the final shot.

The plot this season has more fans than ever before, we have given above and spoilers of the episode that is apparent in other columns of this website, but some of you who have seen the previous night called Lost Finale explanation, because as things stand now, the explanation is too beautiful Lost Finale necessary to understand the whole theory behind the hand of the season six.

Well, the final episode has everything I had on the sixth season of Lost, since it runs from the time the plane crashed and then when Jack and Kate went to the funeral of the father of Jack , who died in that plane crash. It was beyond that described in great detail in the final of Lost as when she met Jack Christian of his death he said that when a person dies and enters a light, which you can call as each person has to die once, and enter into the light.

As you have asked about the Lost Finale explanation, I can tell myself it was all about life after and how the personality and body changes in light and there is some kind of true light that leads her to another world after death.

Nah, there are other descriptions out there (Lilly's wrap was when she shoots MIB) and the last shot was the Jack/MIB fight.

I really don't think the alternate universe was created by jughead. That was misdirection

This is really my only point of confusion-- what the bomb did and what kind of impact it had on the story.

I think I cried a bit for all the couples. I was surprised by Charlie and Claire's though. There's lots of cute little things they did when Claire wasn't being a fucking bitch.

Nothing. It resulted in them having to press the button, and the Losties traveling through time. That's pretty much it.

It's certainly a possibility.

Desmond can access LA X/Purgatory using his EM powers, same way that he can access different times/consciousnesses.

It gives it a certain Sci-Fi edge.

trying to find something else to watch :/

haven't seen breaking bad, supernatural, fringe, true blood, etc.

breaking bad is a much, much, much better show than Lost. Destroys everything else on television.

I absolutely love Lost with all my heart, but when you look at it critically, it pales in comparison to Breaking Bad.

Its possible, but Im quite sure it was the Jack/MIB scene in the rain.

Ok I get how the whole sideways thing is a purgatory type deal, but how do they get there? After they die, and each one is individual? Because some characters were in the sideways world, yet they were still alive on the Island. Were they just created by those in the sideways world in order so they could get closer to moving on?

Yeah, Kate was incredible this episode. I TOTALLY FUCKING BOUGHT (and loved) EVERYTHING BETWEEN HER AND JACK.

Golfham.

"Tell me I'm gonna see you again!"

and

"I missed you so much."

Dear god.

Kate was a revelation to me in this episode. Those two lines just crushed me. Personally, I've lost someone in a close relationship, and those words and their delivery just rang so true.

Bomb sent to Losties back to 2007. If they had never set it off, MIB would have won. Because Jacob was already dead, and that would have only left Sun, who MIB could easily have manipulated Ben into killing.

I'm a huge fan of Breaking Bad. I think BB is the best show on TV, while Lost is my favorite.

But BB will never affect me emotionally like Lost did last night.

And in the end, that's what art is all about. Illiciting emotion.

Lol @ the person who made the evangelion comparison ITT. Spot on, although this ending was much better, if they made this ending exactly like evangelion, all the on-island conflict past episode 16 wouldn't have been shown, and we would have only got the flash-sideways shit.:lol

Sideways world "starts" when the last of them dies(Hurley & Ben). Though, the "start" doesn't actually mean anything because there is no time for purgatory.

The energy from the bomb stops the Incident long enough for Dharma to install their push-the-button system, and it sends the Losties back to 2007 (because according to Faraday, electromagnetism + radiation = time travel!).

So basically...the bomb did exactly what I predicted it would do a year ago. :lol

I think I'm just over-thinking it :lol

LA X is a timeless place, some died before Jack, some died after.

There is no time in our sense there.

Christians said that, btw.

Lost has pulled on my heart strings, especially the finale, but Breaking Bad has deeply affected me in ways I never thought possible by television.

The delivery of "we're the bad guys" still haunts me.

But, this is not a BB thread. I'll keep it out of here.

Brought them back to the current timeline

If they hadnt, MIB would have been free as none of the candidates were in the present (pretty obvious that Jin was the candidate, and not Sun)

Solo said:

I just can't see them shooting that at the end of a day. Cliffside shoot after 20 hours seems dangerous. Unless they just did pick ups like the wides.

As it was happening I was unhappy with the last 10 minutes of the finale, but over the course of thinking about it today I've really warmed up to it.

Yeah, when I was watching the finale last night, I was unsure of it, but the more I dwell on it, the more I like it.

I'll definitely have to watch it a second time later tonight.

Men of a Certain Age
Caprica
Happy Town

I need epic 1 hour shows to fill the void..

Finale only got a 5.6--can't believe somebody was seriously asking last night if it would beat the MASH finale :lol :lol :lol
