Screw the complete series boxset, I need a complete score box set for the entire series. Surely Giacc and Co. must be putting something like this together? And I dont just mean a repacking of the existing stuff, but also the inclusion of all the other stuff that never made it on the CDs (like the "Locke'd Out Again" arrangement from Walkabout, for example).

Has the ABC retraction of the images from the credits running in the LA Times entertainment blog of all places been discussed ad nauseam already? Absolutely perfect.

They should retract the entire fucking series.

What a waste of six years.

I was secretly hoping that the discs were separate from that standup disc holder in the box set picture because it included the entire score of the series. I really hope that maybe in this age of iTMS they can release a digital version with every single cue.

No, they just actually have critical thinking skills.
No, they have a complete lack of critical thinking skills. That's the problem.

They won't bother to research anything nor piece together any information (which is a fun part of the show) which means they blindly state the finale was shit because it didn't give them every single answer wrapped up in a nice bow.

When people were speculating back around LA X that this was the epilogue, they didnt know they were right to such an extent :lol

I can't imagine TV scores sales are all that high. I have no data on that, just a gut feeling. Any info on this?

I'd love for the entire score + extra music to be included in the Complete Series (which I'll be buying the BRD of hopefully. Gotta get a summer job!)

Going back over the season, the Sideways stuff is really quite poignant. Poor Sawyer still can't get over his parents' death.

He was able to let go! Stopped pursuing Anthony Cooper and everything!

The people attacking the finale on youtube (and other places) are completely ignorant.

This is a thinking man's show. Not everyone is a thinking man. Every man can be, it's just that most men choose not to be. Hence, the hatred. I'm not saying you're dumb if you don't like it, but it was certainly evocative of the entire series and wrapped up the story in a very meaningful way that encourages plenty of afterthought and analysis. That's what the show has always been about to me. I think it's fine to dislike it. That's opinion. What I'm not fine with is people bitching that the finale explained nothing and that they didn't get any answers. Well, that's true. The finale didn't explain much in the way of answers, but like Across the Sea, it really put everything into perspective. You didn't find out what the magic light of the island is, but do you really need to know? As far as I'm concerned, the light is a Macguffin. You don't need to know what it is, you just need to know that if something bad happens to it, something bad happens to everything. That it is something divine, an ancient, divine power that could indeed be something that governs and controls what lives or dies on the planet. Who knows? The point is that the characters were able to abolish the off-balance set by Jacob and the Man in Black which was a conflict spawned by lies and deceit by, as far as I'm concerned, the island's smoke monster during that particular period.

All it takes is some thought, and some time. I'm not saying everyone has to love it, hell, the writers are probably orgasming due to the mixed reaction. It's what they wanted because they're masochistic. I just really think that if the haters sat down for a little while, rinsed out the anger, and actually thought about the entire story and how the angle about the island's protectors, what they're protecting, how long they've been doing so, how sinful acts can unleash something horrible that offsets the balance, how Mother commented that the light represents life, death, and rebirth, and how when Christian opened the church doors they were all blasted by a light (which is arguably the same light from the island-- arguably), etc. etc. etc. and so on. It's all interconnected and the answers lie somewhere within.

Its LOST though. The rate they sell DVDs and Blurays, Id have to think they sell music pretty good too.

Why did we never ask ourselves what reason Jack has for bleeding from his neck, and assume maybe it was a death wound. Grrr.

I look forward to rewatching the sideways now. Even Kate's, boring as it is, fits in with her guilt for taking Aaron and wanting to make sure he stayed with Claire.

I dont actually think it was either stab wound that killed him (although the blood loss certainly didnt help!) but the EM.

Only just got to watch the finale. If I think about it rationally, the overspiritual/religious tones in the end were pretty lame (it seemed like they were just an inch away from saying "WE'RE ALL GOING TO HEAVEN"). But fuck if I didn't bawl my eyes out, beautiful episode. Guess it's really over then. :(

I can't understand not liking the finale, but honestly it's not like it ruins the rest of the series at all. Nothing the characters did was cheapened in that finale.

Its depressingly funny that the interpretation that the media is running with (they all died in S1) would ruin the series :lol :lol :lol

:(

That twitter was from before the finale aired, after the UCB Lost show.

he deleted it..weird

I wish it didnt bother me so much that more than half the people think they all died in the plane crash. UGH

No Alan Wake until next Friday guys. I could rent it this Friday, but I want to own it, and if I rent it and beat it, I probably wouldn't ever buy it. =(

lol at the people saying anyone who didn't like the finale/series is ignorant or too demanding or something. some people can't take criticism i guess

I like the theory too, but crazy mother presumably would have shed her physical body as well. Yet she left a normal body after MIB killed her.

Well when MIB was killed as John Locke would he have decomposed as a normal body? I guess you could say that her original body could've already been long gone (much like Locke's). Then you counter with "but the island was still corked"...which I guess you could counter with the fact she had passed the protector roll to Jacob which made her able to be killed.

Basically there's little inconsistencies no matter how you slice it. It seems like they could've made it a little more coherent if they really wanted to...so who knows.

JESUS CHRIST!

Dude, I've been asking it constantly. I think no one is answering because there is no good answer :lol

I was thinking if the writers were trying to be symbolic about why Jack was stabbed and if it was important where he was stabbed...here's what I could find about Jesus being stabbed.

The Gospel of John says "But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water." (John 19:33, 34 NIV.) Later - after the resurrection - John records, "Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.'" (John 20:27 NIV.)

Specifically, the word for "side" is πλευρὰν which Strongs' Concordance says means "a rib, i.e. (by extension) side" so, incidentally, it's the same word the Greek Lexicon of the Old Testament uses for Adam's side in Genesis 2:21.

2:21...2 + 21 = 23 :lol

I imagine Lost's is higher than the rest, but is that still all that profitable? Who knows.

I think people are uncomfortable with the Judeo-Christian overtones as a finisher.

Yeah. Oh yeah. I'm very excited to get it. I was almost able to get it this weekend but too many bills and such happened to be due all at the same time, almost completely raping my check :lol

They need to man the fuck up and realize that they were just in Eko's church on the beach.

I think it's fair to expect this "criticism" to be on par with my critical defense of the finale. So far it's just been links and :lol s

I'd welcome some critical discourse. It's quite possible I missed it. It's a big thread.

Heh, some people got much stronger Buddhist vibes.

It was more unitarian, than anything else, IMO. Besides the Church...maybe.
