You think it's more intelligent to leave and destroy both himself and the world, than to not be sure how the island is connected to the rest of the world because you've never been anywhere else? ;)

Also notable is that he switched plans and decided to pull the cork when he couldn't kill all the candidates. So if him simply leaving without pulling the cork destroys the earth, then what does pulling the cork and then leaving do? Destroy the earth twice?

I'm saying he's not very intelligent if he was on the island for 2000 years and didn't once realize why.

The ENTIRE S4 score is greatness.
I've been playing the S5 score pretty much exclusively since it came out a few weeks ago. It's really fantastic.

S1>S4>S5>S2 & S3 tied because I listen to them the least out of the 5 scores.

Season 6 when it comes out will probably jump to #1 or #2 spot.

The guardian is the one privy to the rules. That would be Jacob. MIB lived his whole life on the island and didn't get to see the outside world, so how is he supposed to know what it all means? His outlook is inherently limited due to circumstance.

He wouldn't and shouldn't have had any more idea than any other person who came to that island, because Jacob doesn't communicate these things to anybody. MIB didn't know why he couldn't leave - why else would he beg Jacob to let him go? Jacob never told him anything, as well he shouldn't have.

Is Bad Twin worth reading, even on its own?

Apparently Darlton wasn't all that satisfied with the novel:
Carlton Cuse: OK. So that was a very candid answer to number one, there's just two more. "Was the turbine man from the Pilot Gary Troup, author of Bad Twin?"

Damon Lindelof: Yes.

Carlton Cuse: It was indeed.

Damon Lindelof: And considering that I have now read Bad Twin, [Laughs] Gary Troup got exactly what he deserved. [Carlton laughs] Next!

The only thing I can't figure out is the thing in the case. Is that the handle of a ping pong racquet?

Map of the island?

(EDIT)
I'm an idiot. The map is right on top of it :lol

It looks like rolled paper. Maybe it's an invite to Christian's funeral.

For some people.

:lol
No, for hyper intelligent space chimps. Of course for some people. Who else would it be the best episode for? :lol

Probably my favourite television ending of all time. So emotionally satisfying.

i want to know if the complete collection will have all the special feature discs, cuz amazon does not say if it does or not.

Why wouldnt it? The set is just a fancied up repacking of the individual sets, so you guys who buy it will end up with the same stuff that those of us who've been buying the individual season Blurays do.

Any word on if the complete set will contain stuff not found on the individual sets? I might have to goozex my individual Blu-rays if so.

I swear, when I die, Theres No Place Like Home is getting fucking belted out at the funeral. Dont want to cry, bitches? *start track* GOOD LUCK.

Im sure there will be a few additional trinkets, but in terms of actual on-disc content, Im sure theyll be identical. Ill be sticking with my individual sets.

You're right, it is confusing and not well explained. It's why I don't enjoy AtS very much. But I'll keep trying to reconcile it:
MIB killed her because they weren't protected from each other and MIB was also special.
Smokey was pretending to be Locke until it was revealed he wasn't, then he showed that he was actually the smoke monster. But he still said he had the experiences of MIB. What would be the point of saying he had those memories if he wasn't that person and the Losties didn't know who that person was?
My thoughts now are that Samuel, MIB pre-light toilet, died, but his spirit was merged with the manifestation of evil. So it was MIB, but not MIBs body.

Well I dunno. Locke didn't have to be protected from anyone by some kind of rule to be completely immune to bullets and stuff. And the whole "He's special" is kind of a way too easy way to explain things (not blaming you).
MAYBE he was able to kill her because at that point she already had transferred her powers to Jacob. Although in that case I don't see why if she actually was Smokey and Smokey is in fact the protector of the island's heart, that power isn't tranferred and potential protctors still have to dive into a cave lit with a magic golden light. So apparently most people here think that Smokey isn't originally evil, he just is because MIB was. Well not really evil, but he didn't give a shit about the island and wanted to gtfo.

What would have worked better for me, is that the purpose of the entire island (and its properties) was to keep that great evil trapped (Pandora's box anyone?). We didn't see it, but when MIB was thrown into the cave, he would have tried to mess with the cork, thinking that he could mess with the light and water to escape the island. That's when he released that evil power that took his appearance. And instead of having a weird fight between Jack and a powerless Flocke, they could have tried to trap him in the hole again, with the help of Desmond. They wouldn't need a protector anymore and what Jacob broke would have been fixed.

Of course that doesn't completely match what the show (poorly) explains, but that would make much more sense IMO.

Love the avatar, i thought you liked the finale?

I cant wait for the S6 score. Between Richard's theme, the Jack X theme from lighthouse, and the fuckawesome rearrangment of Hollywood and Vines from The End, its going to be epic.

Giacchino is basically becoming the John Williams of his generation.

Hm. On closer inspection it looks like each season has one disc missing, if you check the number of discs in the picture and compare them with the individual season sets on Amazonk.

I love the finale and I love LOST. But I lost an avatar bet, and they decided to hit me below the belt :lol

There will be a disc or two of special features exclusive to the complete set.

Quoting a bunch of message board posts is considered journalism now?

Shhhh, dont get in the way of him telling us he hated the ending. After he does it 100 times, we will all finally be enlightened and understand that we are nothing but tasteless, classless, dirty plebes.

I hope we don't all have to wait for that guy before moving on. Ugh. Solo, just give him the envelope of money and let's get the hell out of here.

Just you wait, Ben! 5 more scathing reviews and you and I will flash to our former lives of sipping tea and watching Masterpiece Theatre!
