For everyone who is attacking Willco, you have to admit that the pacing would be a turn off to some people. This does not mean that the pacing is BAD just that some it doesn't appeal to some people, so maybe it isn't for them. As I've stated, I am enjoying how the pace is going, and I really can't see this show being done any other way, especially if it is going to be an ongoing series. Perhaps if it was a miniseries the show could definitely have a different pace.

And Willco, you have realize that just because you aren't enjoying the pacing of a show doesn't mean that the pacing is bad, it just means that it is not for you. You entered this thread with hostility, you should expect hostile responses. And when people responds to your accusations, saying that they only defend the show because they are fanboys is pretty insulting, and ridiculous since the show has only had six episodes. I don't know, it just seems to me that you don't like this show at all. You said that the pacing far outweighs the things that interest you, but you never said what you like about the show. I'm actually kind of curious what you do like about the show, that it has managed to hold your interest even though you hate the pacing so much.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

My riding Willco simply comes from his entire refusal to actually elaborate upon what he supposedly hates.

While I will agree that the pacing is slower than most other stories in regards to actually revealing what is on the island, I just odn't understand how someone could be SO wrapped up with what's on the island that they could not care in the slightest about the histories of the people who are trapped on said island, especially when many or most of them are just as interesting as what could possibly be on the island? Hell, I could see an entire show made out of just Sun and Jin and their situation or Jack and his. Not to mention Kate.

So yes, it is everyone's right to either like or not like the show. BUT, if you come into a thread that is participated in by people who genuinely like the show and decide to attack the shows merits, you certainly better be armed with more than a variation of the exact same statement every time.

Oh, I don't have a problem with that. I know it's not for me. I think I even said, "... that's your bag, good for you, but it's not mine." A bunch of people like it. Good for 'em! I don't like it. If I say the show is tedious and boring, it's not my fault some see it as a personal attack on their preferences. Several others have managed to talk about the show, Socreges included, without getting their panties in a bunch.

I'm totally feelin' this "braying ass" routine, Willco. But it was more convincing in the "Girls are intimidated by my 'vernacular' " thread. We didn't need much backstory to fall in love with that character. One that wears his insecuirty on his sleeve, who tries so hard to convince himself and others that he's more than a fraud. In fact, I'm sure the Joss Whedon fanboys in all of us would love a series based around the type!

Borghe, why are you wasting the energy? He joins these threads every week, despite admitting "the show isn't for him", to throw out a few lazy critiques and to suggest those who don't find it heavily flawed are rabid fanatics. How does that behavior deserve to be honored with a moment of your time?

I believe Willco's dislike for the show is genuine. The only reason he sticks around is to push buttons. Fuck that. Add him to your ignore list. If he comes back next week, his motives are clear.

at this point I am more just beating on his juvenile attempts at insults directed towards me. it is definitely obvious he has no real agenda to critique the show but instead to just troll the threads. If he did actually want to critique the show you'd think he would make more of an attempt than "tedious and slow paced" without ANY further explanation.

I too believe his dislike is genuine. This show requires an attention span and some people just don't have it in 'em. Not so much a criticism as a sincere fact. But as you said, if he has nothing to truly offer, he should expect to be made a fool in a thread created for and participated in by fans of the show.
