Good luck sir, I would die a little inside if I lost all my PS+ games. Luckily it just sounds like a glitch and they should be able to sort it.

You know, I know its fashionable to give Microsoft a lot of criticism but they have all this sorted out at least.

Sucks for the OP, I hope you get compensation of some kind.

how do you know? games with gold Is not even that old. I let my ps plus account lapse all the time with zero issues sometimes things happen . Good luck OP

Yikes, man. That sounds like such a hassle. Hopefully it's resolved soon.

That's gotta be a nerving situation. Hope it's resolved asap!

Not being a MP person on consoles means that PS+ is entirely about the 'free' games and discounts, so I would think the sole reason some people subscribe warrants thorough & prompt investigation into resolving their/our service.

I have two issues that required assistance from Sony's PSN support team. In both cases I've opened the same ticket twice and they've not resolved my issue.

Both were really straightforward problems too, just no help. I e-mail and they don't respond with any actual information. I call and "the person that takes care of that" isn't available but they will be calling me shortly. They never call.

As far as I can tell they're useless.

Playstation support is the absolute worst in my experience. I have always had the issues resolved but only after a lot of effort on my part. I would recommend posting in the support forum as that what has helped me in the past when online chat / phone support was useless. After you post be sure to tweet them with the problem and forum post as well. This is what finally got me help with my latest problem, after about three weeks had past from the time I initially contacted support.

I tried support chat and the support forums; both said they had no ability to help me with this sort of issue and to call phone support.

What's level 1/2/3 support?

Might be slang with the phone reps, but essentially first person who picks up is level 1. If they can't help you can ask for level 2/advanced. In my case online support said to ask for level 2 right away. My level 2 guy (who I talked to for the first time yesterday) said the specialist above him couldn't resolve it and needed to talk to a guy above him. Apparently this sort of thing is normally a flip of a switch, but not in my case.

What sucks is each time I have to deal with level 1, then hold for them to get someone on level 2 who then I need to hold with as they talk to level 3. When I talked to level 2 yesterday he thought I only lost access to one game, when I told him every game he was surprised and escalated it further.

Scary thing is; the first response form level 2 was they couldn't do anything about it. If I had not said that was unacceptable and forced the level 1 person to talk to them again, I would be SoL right now.

Have you tried...

This is so weird but a few months ago, something weird happened to one of my contents, I think it was Resogun. For some reason it wouldn't allow me to play the game despite me owning it and despite me doing the restore licenses and activating it as my primary PS4.

Then I switched my controller from controller 2 back to controller 1. I normally had it on 1 but decided to switch it to controller 2 due to it being closer to me when I play. Lo and behold, the game works again when I switched the controller back to slot 1. To this day, I have no idea why that is the case.

hmm I resubscribed to PS+ after letting it lapse for a month, was able to get my old stuff back, hope you get your stuff sorted out, must be a system glitch

Haven't they announced some time ago, that everyone is going to lose every PS Plus free game which was once avaiable. And that they make now 2 games for each Sony console (PS3, PSV and PS4), 1 month for free via PS Plus? Didn't read the whole OP Post, maybe you mentioned it. But none than less, I wanted point that out.

While on topic, I got an email telling me that my Plus subscription will expire at the end of this month and that its set to auto renew on my credit card, however last year in August I bought a PS+ card and registered in (first one was bought in July), will it auto use that one? Just ignore the email?

July 6 - Called support again, still no call back from them. Level 1 support informed me that my level 2 support person needed to talk to level 3, and they don't work today. Advised to try calling tomorrow....

SMH.

How is the fragmentation of support structure like this efficient in any way?

Best of luck man.

What's level 1/2/3 support?

It's IT Support terminology.

1st Line Support is the guy that answers the phone and most of the time just reads off of a script to solve basic problems. If he can't solve it this way, you get passed to 2nd line support, which generally deal with more specific and complex problems.

3rd line support is usually an engineer/programmer that has a depth of knowledge on whatever you're being supported with.

jeez this is scary. I've always been afraid of this since joining PS+. thankfully I still have almost two years left, and with black Friday deals, I don't plan to let it lapse as long as it is still being offered.

good luck, hope it gets sorted soon, friend. subbed for updates.

I think you misunderstood, they were talking about "yearly" games being not replaced nor available anymore for new users

It will use the card. Its set to auto renew and you have a card on file.

My PS+ sub expired on Jun 6th, I renewed a week later and got all my games again.

BUT all my download list was changed, now it shows like I bought every PS+ game in Jun 13th 2014, but my games are there.

Last year when I extended my PS+ sub, it did the same on all my games there.

It does this everytime you renew I think.

Any update on progress?
This kinda stuff iirks me about digital content.
License expirations, games pulled for other reasons, network down a gen later or company folds. Shitty service has gotta take the cake though & is frustrating when it's out of your hands.

I said this in another thread (can't remember where) but it's important to remember that with digital content- you don't own this stuff. It exists at the pleasure of the platform holder.

PS+ especially, that's explicitly a "you don't own this" scenario. simply a license to use i.e. netflix, and netflix removes stuff constantly. Sony could easily update the PS+ terms of service tomorrow saying all games older than 2 years are now invalid and there's not much we can do about it.

If having unrestricted access indefinitely to your games is important, it's physical, physical, physical. At least as far as consoles go, no clue how Steam works.

Totally agree and have always understood that. Kinda bumped it in hopes OP thread gets noticed and resolved, also along with another users thread in a similar situation. Warrants attention imo. It would be a huge reassurance of somehow 'owning' digital content 'properly' though as you said it's a rental with likely loss at some point down the line.

Personally buy 90% hard copies though 10% can easily be thousands of dollars worth of content and since it's only a button press you can get a lil carried away, psn & steam sales etc... Hell ordering physical media online is only a click away also lol.

I bought a JTAG xbox 360 so wouldn't have to worry about ever losing my XBLA content, DLC etc.... even game updates inevitably becoming non existant in a few years which is a huge bummer.

PC being open at least grants you the ability to 'acquire' games easily should an account ban, company goes belly up etc.

Anyways.... Keep at it OP.
I'd want a refund if they couldn't give you your account back. It's a reasonable request in such situation opposed to nothing imo.

The 16th has arrived and still nothing; phone support apologized again, asked to try back in another week.......

Trying to stay patient here, but I am pretty f-ing fed up with this.

Support supervisor told me

If your Playstation plus subscription expires for more than 24 hours you will lose access to all previous free plus content permanently.

Nothing they can do, he doesn't know why anyone told me otherwise.

That is most definitely not true. Mine was expired for almost a month before I bought a 1-year card and I still have all my old free stuff.

That's horse shit.

I was deployed for 22 fucking months, and my PSPlus subscription was expired for 16 of those, I signed back up after I remob'd and all my shit was immediately available. A couple showed as demos but I could just download the license file for it and they worked again.

Ouch. That totally sucks. I haven't been without Plus for some time now. A few of years ago when we had our second kid I didn't reup when mine ran out for close to a year, but when I did I regained all the stuff I had before. Maybe something has changed since then though.

I feel for you either way. Let this be a cautionary tale!

He's flat out wrong. You need to take names down in the future, so that you can hold specific people accountable. As of right now, even if you did find a way to resolve the issue you can't "fix" the people that exacerbated the problem because there's no way of knowing who it was that failed to be on point continually. If it was me, I'd file a complaint with the BBB at this point due to the fact that their FAQ for the service directly contradicts what you were told. You are being mislead by someone, regardless of who's right at this point.

That supervisor has no clue and that's bullshit

I recovered everything after 12 months of not being subscribed back in 2012

Hope you can get it resolved op

6 phone calls, hours of wasted time, assurances from upper level support that it was not supposed to happen and they would fix it.

45 days later; no the official FAQ and blog re wrong, if it is more than 24 hours you lose plus content licenses permanently.

The icing on the cake; I do not have his permission to use his name or voice in anything I publish on this issue.

It's quite amazing how ignorant most of the phone support is.

Just try to find stories of people transferring their Singstar purchases to new consoles.

If anyone has a twitter account, link this thread to Shuhei. And isn't there a Playstation MVP member in this board that can help him out?

Once it is in your download history it is always there.

Just try deleting and redownloading resogun. Maybe the way PS4 renews licences is buggy. But on PS3 and Vita I have never had this issue.

That part about permanent licence loss after 24hours is not true period. You only lose it till you buy another subscription on the SAME account.

Why would you need his permission? Unless you recorded it, you're fine. Just transcribe it.

Ouch, that sucks, OP. I'm sure some of us have hard copies of PS+ titles we never use anymore if that might help out (I know I have at least two for PS3).

This is absolutely not true. At least it wasn't a couple months ago.
They record phone calls probably so this is probably grounds to get him in major trouble. You don't need permission to reveal his name or anything.
Keep trying!

Just did.

Me too lol.

OP, what the supervisor told you is wrong and I hope it gets resolved soon. There was a story like this on GAF recently: a guy lost his whole PSN account due to some error on their part, the support wasn't being helpful so he made a thread about it. Eventually someone from Sony (a GAF poster) noticed it and helped him out. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find al link to that thread, but I think it might be worth it to get in touch with the OP (if someone else can link that thread). He didn't publish the username of that Sony guy, but he might reveal to you privately and you can all work something out.

EDIT:

Actually found the link: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=853750.

There's no way if you let your account lapse for 24 hours you lose everything.

Mine lapsed for like 3 days and then I put a new code in.
