Does anyone else shake their head when they see that erigu has the last post?
Erigu said:Because I'm confident in my opinion that the show was fucking stupid and its producers moronic charlatans?
Should I simply say the writing was "somewhat flawed" so it would be less offensive to the fans? That's not my opinion. I think it was dreadful on nearly every level.
I actually click on this thread when i see "Erigu" as the last post.Drealmcc0y said:Does anyone else shake their head when they see that erigu has the last post?
Nope. "Good for you", I guess.Drealmcc0y said:Well to me lost is my favourite story i ever experienced and i love many parts of it.
How would you respond to that? Am i wrong?
Im personally still on both sides of the debate. Until recently really. I absolutely hated season 6 and thought it was a giant waste of time. I got it for Christmas by mistake. My mom makes it a point to buy each season for me and I forgot to tell her I didnt want it. I tried to watch it during the storm but couldnt get pass the second episode. It was so depressing especially because of the gesture.dave is ok said:This thread should be for discussion. Opinions both negative and positive should be valid. Instead, the die hard Lost fans ridicule anyone with a dissenting opinion. I've been on the same side of that debate as Erigu and Lost was my favorite show on TV for a few years.

There's nothing wrong with a negative opinion if it can be backed up. So far, I've seen Erigu be right sometimes and wrong more often than not, but to hear it from him you would think he was the only one who ever watched the show and it was only possible for him to be right about it. There's a difference between holding a negative opinion and trolling, and almost any time since the show has ended and someone attempted to express a positive opinion about it, Erigu's been there to shit all over it. For what purpose? To what end? All I can tell is that he wants attention so desperately, he has to force himself upon people constantly and abrasively to get it, like a child. I know the posters who don't appreciate Lost are, they chime in here every once in a while to give a thumbs up to Erigu. But fuck, they support him and they're still not willing to put anymore effort than that into it. Many people don't love Avatar for many apparent reasons, but I don't constantly go into the thread everytime it gets bumped to remind everyone what doesn't work about it, despite how easy it is to do. Courtesy, respect, and also a certain joy in not discussing something that makes me sound like a miserable shit are all perfectly good reasons to not continuously remind people over and over I don't like something. Erigu is beyond those things, for whatever reason, and I'd prefer it if we'd ignored him from now on and made this thread about discussing Lost again.dave is ok said:This thread should be for discussion. Yes: it's been proven and all, and I didn't even acknowledge it because I'm an intellectually dishonest bastard. 'Guess I just forgot about it and shouldn't be asking what you're referring to.SpeedingUptoStop said:So far, I've seen Erigu be right sometimes and wrong more often than not
It's just that I think I'm right. Don't you think you're right?to hear it from him you would think he was the only one who ever watched the show and it was only possible for him to be right about it.
So, according to you, I'm not simply holding a negative opinion, I'm trolling because you think all I want is attention...There's a difference between holding a negative opinion and trolling, and almost any time since the show has ended and someone attempted to express a positive opinion about it, Erigu's been there to shit all over it. Hey, I'm trying to discuss Lost. I'm explaining my misgivings with the writing and the producers.I'd prefer it if we'd ignored him from now on and made this thread about discussing Lost again.
Because only a trolling attention whore posts and reposts arguments 30 times a day while insulting other people. How do you tell the difference between a guy who really, really thinks Lost's writing was shameful on nearly every level and absolutely shouldn't be put on a pedestal, and a trolling attention whore?
'Cause I'm the one insulting other posters, here, huh?big ander said:Because only a trolling attention whore posts and reposts arguments 30 times a day while insulting other people.
Is that a new rule?Someone who thinks the writing is shameful doesn't visit the topic more than once a day to tell everyone their opinion is shit.

If Erigu is removed from this thread, does it make it better or worse? I'd say 100x better. You lose that 'me me me' voice in the crowd always trying to sway the attention to himself and what he believes is to be his witty banter.
Erigu is more vocal about his hatred for the show than even the most ardent LOST supporter is...
He should stick to threads about stories of a post modern game of musical chairs. Seems to be more his speed.

Just because you disagree with his opinions and/or way of stating them (which, really, who doesn't), instead of countering them with reason, you'd rather eliminate them completely. That strikes me as lazy and totalitarian. I'd much rather keep reminding everyone that he's a bully and shouldn't be taken seriously. It's kind of like advocating life in prison instead of the death penalty.
When? When I replied to your "Erigu criticizes the writing of Lost so that must mean he thinks he could come up with a "list of Erigu Recommended Entertainments: A Beacon Of Consistency And Caring"" jab with a similar "you know, from my point of view, you're the one who's setting the bar fucking low when it comes to storytelling, here" jab?BenjaminBirdie said:You 100% insulted me.

If you're in for the pay-off (answers), I think you're in trouble... Hopefully, even the Lost supporters will agree with me on that one.nourali2 said:One of my friends keeps warning me to stop watching Lost after season 4, telling me that season 5 is horrible. yankeehater said:I got the Blu-ray set for Christmas and I cant wait to re-watch the first 5 seasons. To the person asking if you should watch after season 4, I would say definitely watch season 5, even though they dont really explain everything that happened in season 5, it is still a great season. I would say dont watch 6, it is so bad and it really does cheapen a lot of what comes before it.

S6 is just as amazing as every other season. The show was incredible. Stop hatin.
In otter news. I have been contemplating what kind of LOST tattoo to get. I know I want one, but I have many ideas. I just need to get some time to start sketching out some of my ideas and going through my favorite quotes.
Poorly-written Chinese clearly is the way to go.HenryGale said:I have been contemplating what kind of LOST tattoo to get. I know I want one, but I have many ideas. I just need to get some time to start sketching out some of my ideas and going through my favorite quotes.

You gotta use Erigu's italicized approach. And then follow it with a ^_^.
Dude, it's LOST, nobody who ever worked on this show ever gave a fuck at any time ever, and if you don't think that you're wrong. I can prove it by pointing out errors and saying that errors=complete absence of caring.BenjaminBirdie said:Also, clearly Matthew Fox's tattoo artist clearly "didn't give a fuck" either.

Yeah, and it makes sense that you would mention me, as I really had something to do with that, too. :loloatmeal said:Sarcasm, it's tough...

Boy, are you doing it wrong... Don't you realize I don't even need to be the attention whore you accuse me of being to derail the topic, if you keep going at it like that?If Erigu is removed from this thread, does it make it better or worse? ivysaur12 said:6 is frustrating because it's sufficiently serviceable, but the season doesn't really deliver the final chapters that the show deserved.
The End was great and remedied some of these issues, even if it created a few of its own.
Erigu said:Would throwing the Eve skeleton into a fire instantly turn it into magical ashes? Possibly, but they never showed it so it doesn't apply.
Was that fake plane crash ever worth the money and trouble? It kept people from looking for the flight anymore, which could have led to them finding the island. So yes.
How did the behind-the-scenes bloody conflict between Psychic Girl and Evil Sarah end? A deleted scene?
Was Ben the devious bastard who crippled DHARMA's security by having you checkmate a computer in order to initiate an emergency procedure? We don't know who did that. Might have been the same person who deviced a musical number to turn off the Looking Glass.
Did Jacob just hate Nadia's face? Yes, Jacob just hated Nadia's face
oatmeal said:It seems to me that if the show doesn't show it, for whatever reason, then it's bad storytelling. You've been doing this for months now...and it's never made any sense. Name one show where every single thing ever mentioned is expounded upon.
Show the complete backstory of Gray Matter in Breaking Bad, show Sterling Cooper initial rise to the top of the ad game...No. It doesn't matter to the characters, they have their own story to tell.
But, of course, you don't quite get that.
If only everything were about musical chairs.
