Emphasis on "was." In the grand scheme of things, Walt don't mean shit anymore.Drealmcc0y said:Yeah when you look at it from the outside, but when you have to quote it, it becomes fucking frustrating
Also disgaree about fuck Walt, he was an important part of the show.
He deserves to be understood.
Catalix said:On the subject, I actually see more connections between Jacob and Walt's abilities, than MiB. Jacob clearly had precognitive visions. He also could magically draw people toward the Island, much like Walt subconsciously drew birds toward himself.

Just like Aaron.

I don't agree, but fair enoughDrealmcc0y said:Maybe they fucked up, maybe they didnt.
But im gonna give them the benefit of the doubt because there have been plot points in the past that I thought were mistakes but then I looked at it in a different way and it came together.
So while, its a forced loophole, it still comes together as far as im concenred with info we have from the show.
I'm not even gonna try and pick apart the lighthouse. Such a random last minute piece of mythology, lol.Interesting.
Although I believe Jacob knew about things from the future because of the lighthouse. It was powered by the source after all, probably had some power of things involving time.
I wouldn't sweat it, man.a few people
That's exactly how I think the light "works" as well. It makes the most sense to me.Blader5489 said:I've always thought this too, but I do think there's a slight connection between Walt and MIB also.
The island is the source of life in the world; it's light is connected to all living beings in LOST. Being guardian of the island means that you're tapped into that light, and therefore tapped into those other lives: you can see them, know them, guide them to you/the island. What makes Walt special is that he was born with some of that ability already, instead of being given it like Jacob and the other guardians. Walt was just born with a little more light than most people, so he was a little more connected to other lives than most are. MIB would be like that too, imo, which would explain why he was able to see his mother's ghost, why Allison Janney was grooming him to be the next guardian instead of Jacob, etc.

Walt's significance was practically nonexistent after he left the island.Drealmcc0y said:Walts story is directly related to the storyline of the protector, so its very fucking important.
yeah but Aaron was never special.
The psychic was a fraud. He gathers information on people and exploits it.
Jacob probably told him what he needed to do, to make sure that Claire got on the plane.
And spiders! Presumably dead as well.Catalix said:MiB only has ever appeared as dead people.
Sure, these things happen.Drealmcc0y said:Yeah im so fucking dissapointed they didnt explain how somebody spoke backwards.
I'm telling you there never was anything to g...Get lost
It sure is easier.njean777 said:I think this is what the writers wanted all along, is for people to discuss the show and the mysteries instead of just out right answering all of them.
Yup. New rule, people.threenote said:You guys need to move on. It's silly to argue about a finished show.
threenote said:Catalix, you are a good man. I've only finished the first episode of GoT, and it blew me away! Especially the ending to the episode.
What you say is true. However, I was so drawn to the episode because of the superb acting, brilliant scenery, and interesting premise. It exuded potential, and I suppose that is why I enjoyed it so much.TheExodu5 said:It gets better as it goes on!
I was kind of disappointed with the opener, tbh...it felt really rushed.
I guess that's what I loved about the first few seasons of LOST...they really took their time with it. When a show does too much and feels rushed, it loses a lot of its humanity and impact.
TheExodu5 said:<3 Erigu. Bringing sense to the show that made none.

Like, anytime, now.
Erigu said:There's a difference between thinking it made sense and actually explaining how it made sense.
So far, you failed to do the latter.
(Great job on the former though!)
Yeah, you can tell I don't know what I'm talking about, huh? I mean, I never give any precise examples nor quote anything, for instance...Willy105 said:It helps to watch a show to enjoy it.
Officially, he was the spiders that bit Nikki and Paulo (in that one episode where they executed them publicly to satisfy their audience's bloodlust).dave is ok said:Wait.. MIB turned into spiders? That must have been so bad that I deleted it from my memory
Erigu said:Officially, he was the spiders that bit Nikki and Paulo.
Why?
Why not?
Lindelof.Willy105 said:I never heard about that. Where does it come from?
Erigu said:
Drealmcc0y said:This is what happens.
Nikki threw a normal female medusa spider onto Paulos neck which began to paralyse him and then Paulo killed the spider. Then we hear the tikka tikka noise and paulo watches something fly overhead.
Then a bunch of other medusa male spiders come along because they are attracted by the females scent and they paralysed Nikki.
Now im not exactly sure how smokey fits in but its clear to me he is trying to get candidates killed indirectly.
And why would he want to kill them, huh?Drealmcc0y said:im not exactly sure how smokey fits in
Like I said earlier, he could have used the exact same tactic to get rid of all the candidates from day one.its clear to me he is trying to get candidates killed indirectly.
If by "cool", you mean "idiotic", yeah: it's really cool.Willy105 said:That's really cool.
Erigu said:And why would he want to kill them, huh?
Again, I guess the answer would be "why not?" And Lindelof would probably add "everybody hates Nikki and Paulo amirite you guys lol".
Like I said earlier, he could have used the exact same tactic to get rid of all the candidates from day one.
He didn't because he's dumb / the show is dumb.

Willy105 said:He used many tactics before that.
Yeah? According to Lostpedia, there apparently was a "Fernandez" name in that cave, yeah, but...Drealmcc0y said:He wanted them dead because they were candidates.
See, one of the things that make writing not a walk in the park? Writing "intriguing" stuff that also makes sense actually requires some work.If every episode of the show is MiB using the exact same tactic invloving medusa spiders it wouldnt make for a very interesting show would it?
He sure got bored with that real fast. He just wasn't trying that hard to escape, was he?Yeah like driving Jack off a cliff, in season 1 or imitating Dave to drive Hurley off a cliff.
Drealmcc0y said:Yeah like driving Jack off a cliff, in season 1 or imitating Dave to drive Hurley off a cliff.
But no I think it would make for a better show if it was MiB paralysing people as medusa spiders.
Erigu said:He sure got bored with that real fast. He just wasn't trying that hard to escape, was he?
(and he was Dave, too? he can do that?)
Willy105 said:He very frequently took the form of other people, whether by creating illusions to take advantage of fragile state of minds (like Hurley) or outright hijack dead bodies (like Shepard or Locke).
Yup.dave is ok said:I love the rule that he can only take over dead people, until he could just take over anyone for the few situations that it was convenient for the story and/or they had a guest star willing to fly to Hawaii
Point is, it's supposed to be dead people, and yet, people are now saying he was Walt and Dave (Lindelof actually hinted at some Walt apparitions being the Smoke Monster, in that podcast I linked to earlier... why the fuck not, right?).Blader5489 said:He didn't take over Locke's body.
Blader5489 said:He didn't take over Locke's body. And we don't know he took over Christian's either.
Locke's dead body was still there and rotting while the Man in Black was padding out season 6 by "recruiting" for no reason.Willy105 said:What do you mean?
Erigu said:Locke's dead body was still there and rotting while the Man in Black was padding season 6 by "recruiting" for no reason.
On the other hand, we don't know where Christian's body went.
That's one way to rationalize it.Drealmcc0y said:Um MiB moved Christian and Yemi's bodies so Jack and Eko would think their father/brother was walking about
Yet when he was actually trying to trick a group of people into thinking he was Locke, he didn't hide the body.Drealmcc0y said:Um MiB moved Christian and Yemi's bodies so Jack and Eko would think their father/brother was walking about
