Saying "Desmond will die in The Candidate" would be a "major" spoiler, his actor saying he's in the last scene is not. As a general rule I wouldn't take anything an actor says to be a major spoiler.

There's not really basis for saying that. He says he's seen the entire finale script except for one "little scene." He doesn't specify where that scene lies, but says

Well, like I said, we don't know in what capacity. The final scene could be anything. My money is on it being one of those Season 1 music video-esque scenes. If that's the case, then you can bet your ass that pretty much every major character is going to be in it. It has absolutely no indication of who survives, or who goes where, when.
