Knocked out on a sinking sub? Seems clear cut to me.
Typically if someone dies on the show, we watch them die. This was more of an extreme example of Desmond in the well. You might have been certain that Lapidus perished, but it is certainly up for debate for most people. Only 38% of DarkUFO users believed he drowned as a result of the door hitting him.

Lapidus is a minor character. I never expected the Life and Death treatment for him. Shit, Sayid didnt get it - for either of his deaths. So theres no reason to expect it for Frank.

He doesn't have to have a dramatic death like Sun and Jin, but they would almost certainly have made it clear that he died and wasn't, as we last saw, just unconscious for an unknown length of time. I'd be debating this regardless of the spoiler; I don't think many people at all had accepted that his death was a certainty. The tagged clarification in and of itself shouldn't have implied anything.

Not like we saw them crying on the beach for too long. He will probably just wash up seconds later down the beach a bit.

1) I still don't fucking get how anyone could think that Lapidus is dead. He's been around for three seasons, and is conveniently the only pilot currently on the island that has a parked jetliner, and they didn't show his death, nor even mention his name in the immediately following scene when the other characters are mourning the people who drowned in the sub. I'm not talking from any sort of spoiler perspective, I just would be shocked by normal TV-death standards. If a liked but somewhat minor character is implied to die, you freaking show it, and/or have the characters react, and not some half second clip of him falling backwards into an inch of water after getting hit by a door.

EDIT:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/146855/lost-recap-the-candidate#s-p1-sr-i1
The Official ABC recap doesn't even acknowledge that Frank was in the episode at all :lol :lol :lol
Every single scene that they could have potentially showed him in has been edited so he just doesn't appear, not even for a single frame.

2) Clearly the Kate thing will be addressed. They made a pretty big point of saying she was crossed off on the Cave list, but that her name was written and not crossed off on the Lighthouse list.

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.

Nobody reacted to Sayid's death, mang.

Dead

well not really...yet
On the ABC site, Sayid, Sun and Jin all have had their bios updated to say they died during The Candidate.

However Frank's bio simply says "he was last seen" in the submarine

So we have confirmation that a cast member will NOT return by the end of the series:
_____Mr. Eko
.

That's been known for a long time.

Although to explain why would be an even bigger spoiler. :lol

Wait, so you know of the show's literal reason why that person is not returning? Like, the in show reason, not the IRL reason?

Huh? Not really, there's been hope that he would return for quite a while.

It was said a month or two ago that
he
wouldn't be returning.

Kristin from E, or someone like her, answered a question a long while back about two actors,
and said one would definitely return and one definitely wouldn't. She then said the one who definitely wouldn't return is Eko, citing all the behind-the-scenes drama as the reason why.

Hmm, Jeff Fahey seems to confirm the exact opposite to the earlier "Is Frank dead or alive?" spoiler in this interview. He could just be messing around, or DarkUFO's source could be wrong. I guess we just don't know now.

And with regards to MIB's name, E! Online earlier imply that tonight
we won't hear it
.

What the hell? He some how managed to contradict all evidence to the contrary. Now we truly don't know who the fuck is telling the truth, but I err on the side of
alive, because Damon and Carlton seem dodgy about answering that question.

Dead

On one hand, it kinda reads like Fahey is having a laugh

on the other, I don't know what to believe anymore.

Why would the ABC site update Jin, Sun and Sayid to "dead" but only say about Frank that "he was last seen" in the sub...?

Maybe this is a silly question, but has MIB's name been spoiled yet? You'd think it be something almost too east to find.
Not as far as I know, unless it's part of the leaked casting list or script pages which I don't know the contents of.

Hmph, i think MIB name will unfortunately. (for some of you guys) most likely won't be revealed by the end of the series. I feel like it's trivial tbh. And it's something best kept open.

My guess: Jack's ex-wife is
Ana Lucia
. I mean, seriously, David is just
the younger, male version of her (in terms of looks)

David lacks a certain
latino flavor
for that to be true. We'll see.
