i was expecting him.

based on people being excited, i was thinking people were saying it would be
Desmond.
because i want him back! :/

Hard to think that, because
He's been in the main cast credits this whole time...So we don't really know when he'll be back in it, till promo's start showing him.

Titus Welliver?
None other. Words can't describe how pumped I am. Outside of
Des
who I wanted to see return the most.

I'm already prepared to call it the best episode of the season.

Just a few random musings about the promo pics:

Wonder if Richard's wife? sister? was killed in whatever event(s) went down when the Black Rock landed on the Island, or did she just die of old age forcing to watch her grow age over the years while he didn't?

We've never seen Jacob show any real emotion before but he seems highly pissed off in the promo pic. :lol Btw, the knife Jacob is holding is same the knife he used to cut the fish with in the beach scene, and I don't think we ever established whether or not it's the same one from the cabin, which was of course the knife that also killed him.

How fuckin bad ass is Titus Welliver? As much as I'm enjoying TOQ playing MIB I much rather see real Locke return and Smokey recover is true form. In a 45 second exchange of dialogue Welliver delivered some of the most epic lines of the series.. "Do you know how badly I want to kill you?"

Are you guessing the four-letter-word for the next episode? I know it, I can PM it to you if you want. One of your guesses is...close

Yes I am.

Hmmmmmmm. Do not know if want.

Edit:
Actually, just tell me how I am closeish. Does it rhyme with one of my guesses or is the theme of one of my guesses right

:p

I could take a pretty good guess at the word, but I'm making an assumption based on a picture I saw (not from the show) on DarkUFO. And even with the word, I can't know what it means for the show. My guess would be
cork
. The picture I saw was of
a bottle of champaign

Oh snap, new poll up, and it's about something that I figured we had seen the last of!

Same. I don't want to know the answer to the poll, but I'm glad and kinda surprised that we'll get the answer to that question. It looks like they'll be delving deeper into the mythology than I thought. For those that don't want to look at the poll, it relates to finding out the answer to this question --
who built the donkey wheel?

I regret highlighting that, but oh my!

Hmm that could make sense. That's why they had
to stop drilling at the swan
which ties back to season 2 even.

One of your guesses has the first two letters correct.

Fuckin'...read something big from 14.

Fuck.

:( that sucks. That ep is supposed to have a game changer which has leaked. Hope it isn't anything too major you read. Don't even tempt me with anything major in spoiler tags or anything. Did you do it accidentally?

the donkey wheel has already been explained. Not sure about Room 23, though.

The fuck are you guys doing to get spoiled on late season info accidentallly? I've been "spoiled" a few times this season but it's always been something like casting info about the upcoming episode.

Same here. Aside from idiots posting spoilers in places they shouldn't (which I fortunately haven't been a victum of), I think it's been pretty easy to avoid anything major.

There's no such thing as getting "spoiled" accidentally! most of you people who "claim" to be, have done so, of your own will.:lol

What about people who don't spoiler-tag a spoiler, put it in the wrong section/thread or just plonk it in the comments section of, for example, an unrelated YouTube video. There are plenty of ways to accidentally read something you didn't want to. It hasn't happened to me for Lost, but it did for the last season finale of Dexter. Reading some comments on a Sci-Fi blog someone just blurted out "____ DIES!".

Stay away from YouTube...

I was trying to find out who wrote/directed Across The Sea.

BOOM, read something I shouldn't.

I didn't find out, after I closed the window in horror and decided not to look again.

I didn't find out anything too big plot wise, just mythology wise, if that makes sense. It's not like "X does Y".

In case you didn't find your answer: Lindelcuse wrote it, pretty sure Bender directs.

Oh, sweet heaven.

Really? What was the explanation?

wasn't a total explanation just a bunch of little clues:

Orchid sits over a pocket of electromagnetism. Losties are time flashing, decide that going back to the Orchid might stop that from happening. Locke lowers himself down the well, Sawyer is holding the rope, a time flash occurs sending the Losties to a point in the past before the well or Orchid station existed. Sawyer is still holding the rope...what happened happened leads us to believe that's in fact how it the site discovered in the first place. LOST

I think he meant the origin of the wheel itself. Still totally up in the air.

Personally I don't think that matters too much. One of those things they might not answer. When Dharma discovers the wheel it's buried behind a wall of rock.

It doesn't have to be explained, but more info would be a nice treat.

TheGreatDave said:
How do you "explain" the wheel?

You did see the Lighthouse, right?
Flashbacks? Bread crumb clues ala the polar bears? Off-handed comments from Richard/Jacob/MiB? A number of different ways.

And you're assuming we won't have anymore lighthouse knowledge dropped on us. It's not mandatory, but I'm not gonna pretend it's not still a possibility.

The point is some things are inexplicable. The Lighthouse being one of them, and the Donkey Wheel being another. They can tell us what purpose they serve, and how long they've been there, but they can never tell us HOW they could exist.

yeah, the donkey wheel (along with the cabin and the lighthouse) is a real corker. Even if they attempted to explain the science behind it it still wouldn't make much sense.
