I don't watch a lot of movies but this was easily the best I have seen in a long time. Just ridiculously awesome action sequences and the non-action parts were just as good. Plan to see it again this week and I have never seen a movie in theaters more that once. So good

Someone help me.

Mad Max, Avengers, or Faster and Furioser 7.

I adore the fast and furious franchise with all my heart...but there is an action scene about 30 minutes into Mad Max that would be the finale of most action movies and I almost forgot about it because of how fantastic every action scene is.

This movie is the truth.

Avengers is garbage.

Mad Max has a guy shredding a guitar on a vehicle for most of the movie. It's an intense film with some of the best action and acting in a blockbuster since T2. Oh and the cinematography is amazing too.

Avengers is more Marvel crap but this time they make fun of Cap for 2 and 1/2 hours and the action sucks in it. Shitty CG too. Vision is cool though.

FF7 is a good action flick.

Oh did I forget that the guitar guy in Mad Max can also use his guitar as a flamethrower? A FUCKING FLAME THROWING GUITAR. Like bro, you'll never experience that shit in a movie again. That isn't even the craziest thing in the film.

WHY ARE YOU NOT BUYING A TICKET TO MAD MAX RIGHT NOW? You'll never see anything this awesome in a theater again.

Go watch MAD MAX.

And look at those sharp edges on the guitar.
It could also be a good melee weapon.

This was a phenomenal movie. Miller brought superb filmmaking skills to this. The action was relentless, chaotic, but understandable, and we got some great characters that didn't need tons of exposition to understand.

Characters never need exposition. Plot sometimes does, key thematic concepts sometimes do. Not characters

Well that was fucking incredible.... at one point during the film the score and action on screen gave me goosebumps. It was perfect.

Finished at 8:30 in a pretty full showing in Glasgow, as someone else stated above me the D-Box was absolutely amazing with this film. My partner actually really enjoyed it after moaning about seeing it for the past few days and she said the 2 hours flew by. Really hoping for a sequel.

I loved this

All the desperate tinkering and adapting to fit their needs and the environment shows through in everything they use. So much thought in the smallest of things, tools that have the feel of iterative history behind them. And it all works. This is some of the best 'worldbuilding' ever seen on film.

I love the following shot of the engine. That was vehicle porn or something, and yes smart use of everything.
Overall I loved that the whole truck was a place by itself. We get to see a lot of it, and everything was used for something. Almost felt like a character to me.

His guitar is part of the score. It's so dope.

Doof Warrior is the man.

Ive been listening to the soundtrack all week and wondered if the guitar solo/jam in Chapter Doofus was going to be that guy actually playing it. This is great. That track is one of the best full steam ahead action tracks.

Cant believe Ive come to this..2 hours 45 minutes to go!!

Yes. that entire scene was just.. wow incredible.

the way both characters start working together and tossing guns back and forth. Loved it

I admit I let out a "wow this is smart" at that moment. That and what the bikers were doing. That scene sealed the deal for me. I knew I was going to love the film whatever was happening after that

Visual feast, great action, probably my favorite film I saw in the cinema in 2015.
I saw the first Mad Max a long time ago but I forgot most things about it. Maybe now I will rewatch it.

This was me when I was watching Mad Max:Fury Road. 2D goodness of course.

What a relentlessly, exciting film that is filmed to perfection. Gonna watch it again. BASED MILLER. Totally outdone himself and having achieved this at 70 years old is amazing when other filmmakers his age and younger dream to do half the shit he managed to accomplish with the production. Mad fucking respect to all the stuntmen and women as well.

Mad Max: Fury Road > The Road Warrior > Mad Max > Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

Hah your ranking is the same as mine.

I also watched it in 2D cuz it was cheaper and me and my brother had really good seats.
He wants to watch it again with his friends but he says he needs to watch his budget. I'll prob. lend him the money and let him enjoy the experience again :p

You know what?
It's time for Buronson and Tetsuo Hara to do a new Hokuto no Ken story assuming they haven't lost their touch, but damn do I wanna see a new story featuring Kenshiro that's on the level of how Max was in this movie.

That was such an experience, I don't even know how to describe it. The movie was glorious.

Also, can any fan of the series go a little bit into whether this has any connection to previous films or not?

In the movie Max
has recurrent visions about what seems to be his wife and daughter getting killed by a gang
but IIRC in the original movie he
had a wife and a son instead
. I don't know either whether
there had been a nuclear war
in the original series.

I know it's supposed to be approachable on its own but seeing Miller's declarations about "revisiting" and stuff I initially thought that the original would stand as the entry point and Road Warrior, Thrunderdome and Fury Road would remain chronologically unknown sequels, now I'm not sure.

While I wasn't around when the first and second movie dropped, I would think this is the best Mad Max yet. I saw the original trilogy first in the 90's.

Maybe Max's
dreams of his family that are shown in the movie are affected by his time in the Wasteland? Like the events of the very first Mad Max movie happened, but after the nuclear holocaust and his time in the wasteland it erroded into his nightmares.

Alt. he might have been with a group that he failed to protect and it's been haunting him ever since

Saw it last night. Cinema was packed (UK).

I can't describe in words how I felt during the duration of the film. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

When it all kicks in to gear this gif was literally me.

I saw all of them for the first time this week. Fury Road is easily the best.

You are correct, somewhat.
In the first movie, you'd get to see Max with his family before they get killed(Which they do in the film) and before he becomes mad. You also get to see the world before everything collapsed, it was basically on the verge of it doing so. In the second movie, as soon as it starts it tells you what happened with Max and his family as well as how the world has gone to shit.
As for the third film there was no flashbacks if I recall correctly, probably the most interesting thing about it is that we get more glimpses of the world that is surrounding Max.

I never saw the OG movies (Will be changing that within the next week or so), I'm guessing this was in the OG movies, but can someone explain
the silver stuff they sprayed in their mouth?

Modern filmmaking led me to believe there was no way this would be better than road warrior. Blockbusters are just too glossy and cgi'd to have that sort of impact now imo

But then george miller changes the game by going back, not forward. He wisely used the larger budget and new tools to become an extension of his style rather than let it change it

Bless up to the best blockbuster since lotr for my money

Yeah, might be for sure. I though I heard
the girl calling him "dad" though (mind I saw it in Spanish) and the striking blue eyes like Max's own made me think it was his family.

By the way, the theater here in Spain was packed as well , I hope it bodes well for the film at least in what concerns international box office.

Yeah, Thanks, I thought so. It's the little girl part that makes the connection a little confusing. It is largely inconsequential though, as you can assume the story is pretty much the same.
