Such a great episode. We finally get to the bottom (or is it?) of the Bob Benson drama....who had him as pulling a Don Draper?

Ken getting shot further points to someone getting killed in the last episode, I mean how much foreshadowing do you need?

Sally might not be as bad of a bad girl as she would like to think she is.

I can't wait for the finale of this season.

Also, I wish I lived in the 60's where it is apparently easy to create a new identity and get yourself into the white collar world and maybe even become an exec off some false information.

Great character moment to see Pete finally learning and start playing the long game. I'm also glad that there was more to Bob than just him being gay or bi.

Previous times Pete tried snitching (love how it all goes back to the Cooper quote):

S01E12

Pete: I have to bring this up to you. Only because I believe if I kept it from you in the end it would be damaging to Sterling Cooper. It has come to my attention, completely by accident, that Donald Draper here is not who he says he is. His real name is Dick Whitman, but... Dick Whitman died in Korea ten years ago. It stands to reason that he is a deserter at the very least and who knows what else.

Cooper: Mr. Campbell, who cares?

Pete: Mr. Cooper, he's a fraud and a liar, a criminal even!

Cooper: Even if this were true, who cares? This country was built and run by men with worse stories than whatever you've imagined here.

Pete: I’m not imagining anything!

Cooper: The Japanese have a saying, "A man is whatever room he is in," and right now Donald Draper is in this room. I assure you. There's no profit in forgetting this. I'd put your energy into bringing in accounts.

S06E06

Pete: Sit down, Trudy. Did you know your father pulled his business?

Trudy: No. And I don't care, Peter.

Pete: You understand that we were going to be very rich, but he's ruined that.

Trudy: He's done everything for you.

Pete: He's a hypocrite, Trudy.

Trudy: Don't you dare criticize my father.

Pete: I guess it doesn't matter that I caught him in a Midtown whorehouse.

Trudy: Just stop it right now.

Pete: It's true. With a 200-pound Negro prostitute. Ask him to his face.

Trudy: You'll say anything to hurt me, won't you?

Pete: He wanted it this way. He left me no other choice.

Trudy: You had lots of choices, Peter. We're done. Get your things.

I hope we get a more Bob-centric episode in the future. I feel like there's an interesting story in how the guy got to where he is now.

I just want more James Wolk screentime pls

I'm starting to wonder if he is in fact Don's illegitimate son.

If his mom moved to West Virginia when she got kicked out of the whorehouse...

Of course, that would mean that Bob also cracked Don's secret, and knows he's Dick.

Or, (twist!) he's the real Don Draper's illegitimate son!

Or the real Don Draper's LEGITIMATE son! (double twist!)

This is honestly the most finely crafted show in our nation's young history.

Now that they're in '69 and colors are getting wild, every frame is just jaw dropping. And that new logo? Jesus fucking Christ. Nothing comes close to the execution of this shit, jesus christ

I was going to mention the logo. Perfect retro craziness.

- Next on Mad Men: Episode 613

Might as well be a previously on clip. We know anyone of or all of these things could come to a head in the finale.....no new footage though, they're giving us even less than usual.

Although, we do get a glimpse of Megan in the Tate shirt, probably just to fuck with the conspiracy theorists.

Also, regarding this episode, apparently Don does more work on his days off than he does on some work days.

and now Don has alienated both of his "daughters": the real one (Sally) and her daughter-figure/protege (Peggy). Damn.

It was a great episode, can't wait for the season finale. Some things are falling apart.

Soooo with this season ending soon I'm gonna watch a new show but don't know which, do you guys know anything similar to Mad Men in terms of production value/layering/symbolism/writing etc?

Someone is going to say Boardwalk Empire, and they will be lying to you.

If you want another period piece, Downton Abbey is probably the most similar in terms of production value and layering. Breaking Bad is the God-Emperor of symbolism.

Boardwalk Empire up till a certain thing happens....yes.

Also The Wire.

House of cards, you will NOT be disappointed.

Deadwood
The Sopranos
The Wire
ROME (this fucking show...)

Don should do what someone here mentioned and open up a Cali branch with Harry and move there for good. Then we can have some weird final season going back and forth between the two. I just know they're setting up SOMETHING weird for the final season. I mean they're already shoving Sally off to boarding school probably because they want to focus on something else in the final season, at least I assume.

Then again I should assume anything with matt weiner, I just know he's planning a curveball for next week. Can't stop guessing.

I can't believe the finale is next week. This has been an odd season. Not particularly satisfying.. I feel like the plot has been pretty stagnant ever since the merger.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Mad Men is possibly the only show to make me yell "WHAT" out loud at the TV. More so than Game of Thrones.

The other week with Peggy fucking bayonetting her beatnik boyfriend, this week with Kenny.

Don is the best super villain.

I thought it looked like he had no head.. I was confident they'd blown his head off but my fiancee was like remember how Cheney shot the dude in the face and he was okay? He'll be fine! Of course, sure enough he was. I was hoping they'd done it though (killed him off). Show needs a twist like that! I feel like it's treading water.

Both scenes are definite WTF moments though. I was like, "WAS THAT COSGROVE?!" and we had to rewatch it.
