So is Dow Chemical a client now? Weird to have big news not even be explicitly stated if that's the case.

Yeah I wasn't sure if they were just selling a one-off thing for Dow or if they're in the rolodex. I had to assume the previous since you'd think that would be a rather large client.

Ken's father-in-law works for Dow, correct?

They've been on board since Ken started at SCDP. At least that's what I thought.

I figured that they just have some small slice or product line.

Re: Peggy, it's been a little while, she may well have gotten a raise or gets big bonuses, assuming she's successful. Or, she gets paid less because she's a woman.

By the way, Peggy is such an excellently developed character, I was thinking of how she didn't really flinch at the prank last week, and then look at where she came from in S1, and how that's all been pretty seamless. She's earned the armor that she wears.

No. Dow pitched them last season after Ken didn't want much to do with it.

Don and Megan had dinner with them at a fancy restaurant. It looked good for Don but it wasn't confirmed.

In the 1st (or was it 2nd?) episode this season, they were working on Dow oven cleaner for an ad.

Ahh...that's right.

I really should stop being so drunk everytime I watch this show. But you gotta pre-game then of course have a glass of bourbon to drink during. So I don't see that changing.

The swingers offer while Megan is completely oblivious was great.

Clearly Don felt he needed to find some way to get to the "moral high ground", so him showing up at Megan's filming wasn't shocking to me.

That episode made me feel depressed. Damn, this is a good show.

For all his philandering Don doesn't strike me as an orgy type of guy. Which is fairly amusing.

I don't think this was a smirk from Peggy rather the realisation that she's lost a friend and was forcing her smile

Dawn's line about "how many bottles they throw away" at the office was funny. Seriously, it's like everyone there is swimming in alcohol constantly, and it's been that way since S1.

I really don't think Peggy has lost Stan as a friend. I don't think he cares enough abotu work to write her off altogther. Although I am sure it will put a damper on their chats.

Maybe, but even someone as nonchalant about work as Stan would feel hurt and betrayed being used by a friend that he really cared for. I think you guys might be being a bit too optimistic.

Stan probably doesn't give a shit about work, per se. He gives a shit about something he said jokingly to a friend being utilized for something else. That means that even if he wants to talk to Peggy he has to mind what he's saying. Which is super harsh on your buzz.

Great episode. Don is such a piece of shit. UGH. I was worried that Dawn was going to get fired or something. I like her, shame they havn't done much.

He was chosen as the sole person at a prestigious ad firm to be let in on an attempt to redefine the marketing of one of the most iconic products in existence. Anybody would feel burned by a friend who tried to use knowledge of the situation to undermine their efforts. That seems reinforced by his open showing of glee for the secretive process when he is speaking with Don.

I agree with the people you're replying to. Even there it was just the secrecy he was excited about. Seemed like it could have been for a pencil and he'd have been excited about it.

This is the death of the company man.

Damn, that was a great episode. Felt like an older season, with so much of it concentrating on client work. Don/Stan's Heinz ad was far, far better than Peggy's too. It could still work in 2013.

Lots of laughers too.

Joan: "Where were we?"
Meredith: "Meredith, why don't you step out?"

And Don's face when those two swingers tried to invite them over should probably be gif'd.

That's why I rewatch the entire series every year in anticipation of the new season. It's crazy how many small details and nuances you miss/forget.

I highly suggest you watch it again, just to see how much some characters have changed, or not changed (looking at you Don)

I'll do it once the series finishes. The Sopranos and The Wire are two of the series I've watched more than once.

Dedicated screentime to most of my favourites and a shit ton of callbacks/progression. Loved this episode.

It was so awesome to see Marley Shelton pop up. Whether it be her voice or a similar resemblance to Christina Hendricks, she exuded the perfect presence to be playing someone as close as the character is to Joan.

The focus on Dawn was refreshing and a great way to illustrate the shifting influence and challenges through other women and Joan herself. Dawn's insistence on "keeping her down" and Harry Crane being a usual super dick by highlighting Joan's method of advancement broke my heart.

Don and Peggy's brief encounter was as expected, powerful. Can't wait to see where these two end up by the end of this season. Also, *please* don't let Stan end up getting fired over this Heinz thing. It was already too much for me that his friendship with Peggy looks to be compromised. I need his bearded face in my life for as long as possible.

Oh and yay to Bert's (new?) Japanese office.

My only two complaints: No Betty and the score was so oddly placed throughout.

Are they still calling it SCDP? They haven't mentioned the company name at all this season and I'm assuming they changed out Price for Campbell? Why aren't they making it a big deal? This is Pete's dream.

Firm names don't change that easily. Keep in mind the Sterling in the original firm wasn't Roger.

Rewatching the episode, I feel like I should really focus my beard growing abilities towards Stan' beard.

"Project K."

It's kinda dumb that nobody figured out what it meant, since they were all well aware of the earlier meeting with Heinz ketchup.

Also, what kind of sick fuck puts ketchup on hot dog. (STAN!)

The way Harry treated Joan was totally uncalled for, but everything else he said was true. He has been looked over despite his large contributions to the firm, but he needs to find a much better way of expressing this.
