The Mafia Facebook page released a short clip containing the map of Sinclair Parish. Somebody on Reddit did a screen grab:

Has the game seen performance improvement since it's been released? I remember hearing bad things, curious to see if it runs smooth like I hoped

It definitely runs smoother. The largest performance gain was the patch after the FPS unlocked patch I believe.

FWIW, It ran acceptably for my system 4670k 4.2Ghz, 980Ti, SSD.

OK, was tempted by this when it came out, but was playing the excellent Forza Horizon 3 instead.

I got Watchdogs 2 for Christmas and hated it, but l thought the first one was a classic (yes, really!).

I love OW games in general, am l going to like this? I want to like it, but don't have time to waste on shit games any more!

I would say yes, whilst the game does have flaws, it's far from shit.

Started this over the weekend and man those first couple of hours are great.

I think I'm about to get confronted with the game's Open Worldness now and afair people talking it kinda goes south from here but let's see how much of it can be streamlined.

Oh and as I wrote in the PC thread, performance is still kinda shit for me. Super CPU dependent.

Any news on the DLC or even a trailer? I'm wondering how long this will be and it's out in a matter of days! I'm excited.

They post about it quite frequently on the Mafia Game Facebook page.

Personally I've shelved the game until they fix the trophies which they completely broke with patch 1.06.

I heard this too, but I never really noticed it while playing. I mean there is repetition but I kind of feel this is par for the coarse for almost all open world games. The game is amazing if you like story and music from the 60's. The gameplay is really solid as well. I really enjoyed my time with it, huge step up from Mafia 1 and 2.

So the Mafia Game Twitter said that the racket system won't be part of the DLC! Does this mean all the city takeover will be pushed aside for narrative story missions completely ? That would get me hype!

Sorry a bit late to respond to this one. But yes, our DLCs won't have the racket system and are focused more on narrative missions. We also have a few new gameplay mechanics we're adding with each new DLC (which will be usable regardless of whether or not you own the DLC), as well new rewards like outfits, weapons, vehicles, and more.

Specifically with "Faster, Baby!" you can already see some of the additions like slo-motion driving, throwing grenades out of vehicles, and proximity mines, which came in the update this morning. The team will be adding more improvements like these with each of the DLC packs.

The DLC will be going live at 9 pm PT tonight. Hope you all check it out!

This gets me so excited! Thank you for response , can't wait to tear up Sinclair Parish with Roxy ! The story missions in Mafia III were absolutely incredible. The new slo-mo driving on simulation is the stuff of dreams- love that heaviness in the mechanics. Will be checking it out at midnight, H Y P E !

Anyone know the cost of the DLC? Might pick it up. While the main game was repetitive as hell, it was still fun to relax with, and I'm hoping they did better.

I played story missions for a solid two hours, and Roxy is fucking awesome.

There's something so wonderful about the writing in this game, and voice acting performances are stellar. She's a total badass - hanging out the window killing everything. The driving mechanics with the slowing of time, and the new ramps and traps to trigger feel great in some epic chase sequences!

And it really focused on driving, I think I completed most of the integral story missions and they were all frenetic, fast paced and a ton of fun. Honestly, without the city takeover aspects, these missions really shine. Some awesome destructibility, frantic driving and a good sense of flow. It's a fun quick romp of a revenge tale, and I'm excited to try some of the side missions tomorrow.

"Yeah, we just a regular old Beauty and the Beast. Lincoln here is Beauty."

Bravo!

Sounds good. Can't wait to dig right back in tonight.

Story is a bit short then. I hoped for more (4-5 hours of story + side content).

Looking forward to trying out the DLC, once I have finished Horizon!

Seems a little lite on content.........

New story missions with 2-4hrs gameplay
Two new cars: the Nightcrawler (El Camino) and a VW Microbus/Van.
One new weapon: Supressed Mac 10
Two new outfits: Denim jacket and jeans; hippy outfit
Sinclair Parish to explore
The "Herbalism" side activities

Reading Steam reviews on the "Faster, Baby" DLC, apparently it offers just three new missions and in total is only 30-60 minutes long. Quite disappointing.

Yes, it is very short, I flew through it in an hour or two. I've no idea what the point of the Herbalism thing is as there doesn't seem to be any missions associated with it....just plant pot and come back from time to time to harvest it and just grow some more ?

Just tested the demo a bit and oh my, the camera while driving really sucks. Is this a sea sick simulator or what is going on here? Any mods to make it less "floaty"?

Now I'm glad I didn't buy the season pass. Gonna wait for a while on this purchase

And they want 15$/€ for that? lol

The Witcher 3 Heart of Stone costs 10$/€ and it takes 10-15 hours to play through. It really put things to perspective. I like Mafia 3 but shit, that's a horrible deal.

I obtained it via the Season pass which I picked up for cheap along with the main game at release....so I didn't really feel too burnt, but I wouldn't recommend buying it separately at that price. There just isn't enough content in it, the missions are kinda fun I guess and don't fit into the usual racket/district stuff which dominate the main game but I was just left wanting more.

The herbalism may be an ok way to make some money if you start out the game and have it growing the entire time...but if you have already finished off the game and there isn't much to do while it is growing, it is a bit pointless.

I'm hoping for more in the other 2 DLCs, the next one sees more Donovan content which is never a bad thing.

I had lots of fun with this DLC, it does explore more of the amazing driving gameplay and the new female character is one of the best of the game. The new district is also very cool and even more unwelcoming than the others.

But let's be real, it's very damn short. They've been teasing the DLC since so long I was actually surprised to finish in one go.

If the two last DLCs are very good then this one will be the nice little addition to the Season Pass, but I spent 30$ on it and I'm a little worried there will only be 3-4 hours out of it all. Not that I count how many hours I play a game (I loved Inside and I finished it in 3 hours), but it didn't feel like the grand addition 2K was teasing, although I had a lot of fun with these few missions.

Anyway, don't buy it 15€ now, wait for the two next ones and if they are both good pick up the Season Pass.

Roxy is a great character. Very fun, great design. Her missions feel like a wild blacksploitation movie, but with some of that same melancholy in the cutscenes that made the base game's narrative work so well. I would've loved to see her as a major part of the campaign. This wasn't enough :(

If Mafia 3 was just 30 hours of these missions strung together with more city activity/interaction, this game would've been received MUCH better.

As for whether or not this is worth the asking price.... hmm, idk. The Witcher 3 really messed the game up when it comes to open world singleplayer story expansions this gen, so everything looks like a let down in comparison. I'll wait for the next two Mafia 3 DLCs drop before making a call on this. A discounted season pass version of the game might be better than individual purchases.

The general consensus is if the game continued along like the first couple of hours of the main campaign, it would have been very well received.

Instead it devolved into a series of repetitive territory takeover missions, alot of the time reusing locations you were at moments earlier, it really did feel like a grind to finish. There were a couple of scripted 'Mafia-like" missions sprinkled in here and there..but there were not enough of them.

I liked the mission design in "Faster Baby!" but it was just over way too soon. Fingers crossed for DLC 2 and 3

I bought the game yesterday, could not pass on that for 24 dollars. When you fire the game up it says to link your 2K account, but how? It tells me about a outfit and weapon and I'd sure like those.

I've just gotten past the demo part so I probably won't be able to change outfits just yet.

Damn, was looking forward to getting the DLC, but seems like it's not quite worth the asking price. I most definitely will get this at some point, can't move on from the game yet. While it isn't an excellent game overall, it has some excellence in it. And that will bring me back later on.

I assume the missions for The Voice are side missions, right? Because I was told I'd be wise to avoid the side missions as much as possible to avoid boredom and getting tired of the game. For now I'll aim for the main story.

Can I continue doing side missions after I beat the main story (both the Burke/Vito/Cassandra side-missions and the Nikki/Alma/Emmanuel ones)? I think I'm nearing the end of the game, and I'd like to wrap it up and return to do the side missions later.

Do all the guns have barely any bass or oomph to the audio or is it just the demo?

Sadly in full game too. The guns feel awesome though and I love the way enemies die. Never seen anything like that before.

But sadly I am starting to see where all the negativity came from. I do my best to avoid all the side stuff and I focus on the main story but even there is plenty repetition. My main mission is now Auto Theft and I hope it's gonna get better and more diverse from here.

Before this they constantly had me going to people, interrogating them, and it all ending in going to the same place again to finally kill that boss there. This just kept on repeating in those missions. Only memorable mission after prologue for me so far is the
fun fair/carnival with haunted house parts

It
depends on the ending you choose
