I just did Raise Dead on Severed Legion (2/2 Fear) and now it doesn't have summoning sickness. :lol This black deck is all bugged out.

I played 3 online ranked matches tonight. The one I lose, I don't disconnect, and take the proper beating. The other 2, I end up winning, and both disconnect as I am about to deliver the winning blow. The game should punish this by removing one of the earned (extra) cards of the deck they're playing with when they disconnect.

This is why I just started playing Magic Online 3, I have yet to get a single DCer in over at the very least is 20 games a day. Yes, it's more expensive to buy cards in MGO3, but the deck customization + a MUCH more mature player base and a much wider range of decks you're playing with and playing against = a fantastic gaming experience.


Btw damn this game for getting me back into Magic (I'm having a fucking blast)

I'd really like to beat "Sarkhan Vol" but every time I have him on the run he plays a card that must read "Freeze targets xbox". It must say that because every time I see that card it crashes my xbox. Anyone else got that?

If you change the camera angle (control pad), that is usually enough to unfreeze it if that happens to you in single player.

Jealous. Trying to win with the GRW deck in campaign is driving me nuts. And i still have Blue/White/Red decks to fully unlock all cards...

this saturday coming is the pre release. where no one really knows what cards are in the set. so if you are thinking about jumping on, this saturday is a fantastic time to do it.

Honestly, go play MtGO if that's what you're looking for. I'm new to the game, so I found it pretty overwhelming. Still rocking the XBLA version. Everyone being on the same decks makes it a lot easier to learn.

Taught my wife the game. I beat Tezzeret and Tezzeret myself though; subjecting her to that would be considered abuse in most states.

I'm slowly but surely working towards 100%. All I have left now is unlocking all the cards, which can be a real pain for some of the decks (*cough*RGW*cough*).

I broke down and bought the game last night, but as someone who used to play the card game years ago, it's a bit demoralizing to be stuck with such mediocre decks. The first game I played, I lost because I was stuck with 4 lands and 4 cards with casting costs of 5 or more in my hand. Nice mana curve there. :lol

When I retried the match, I ended up with only 3 small creatures, 10 lands, and the enchantment that gives a creature +1/+1 for every forest you control. I killed the AI with a 13/12 regenerator.

However, the decks are definitely competent enough and simple enough mechanics-wise for a beginner to pick up, so I guess the game does its job. I'll probably have fun with it despite its shortcomings in the end.

I make no claims to being a Magic expert, but just based on my experience in-game:
Elf Deck . . . . . . Black . White . Blue . Green (as long as it's not going against Elf Deck) . . . Dragon Deck . . . Red . . . . . . . . . RGW

RGW is so terrible. Last thing I did, even beat T&T first. Blech.

It has some Nice Cards. Its a bad deck overall but Wolly Thochtar that 5/4 in turn 3 is pretty bad ass. And the 5/5 with Vigilance and Haste can control the batlefield if you get him out in time... Its a better deck than the White Deck.

Yes, actually to be fair I call it the Wooly Thoctar deck. If you don't get your Neapolitan mana and Thoctar very early though, good night Gracie. White deck is one of the better ones imo, though maybe I'm biased because it works well against the Elf deck (which Wooly Thoctar deck gets destroyed by most of the time thanks to forestwalk). I go back and forth on Black and White, but I do enjoy using them.

Anything with direct damage destroyes that GB deck like the RGB deck for instance. You just have to rush before the GB deck can cast a coat of arms.

Love the Elf Deck. Reminds me loads of the Goblin deck I used back in the days.
The theme is tight, very little waste-cards. Creature control, able to get rid of Enchantments and Artifacts, cheap critters that buff each other, a few cards to gain life. Good stuff.

Yesterday I had two games where I crushed both opponents in the same turn with a horde of Forestwalking 10/10 elfs.

Like true bitches they disconnected and so shat upon the pie of victory I was expecting.

Yesterday alone I had 5 or 6 games where I had 1 mountain on the table with 5 dragons in my hand that all require a 2nd mountain. I've never been hurting for forests though. The total number of mana is great, it just has too many forests instead of mountains.

Then there is the RGW which floods me with so much mana I can't possibly even use half of it. I can't count the number of games I've played where I just needed one more creature or a pacifism or something to win and I pull out 5 lands in a row while I get whittled down by fliers.

I think you're just really unlucky as far as the RGB deck goes. You have 4 rampant growths and 4 of the elf that lets you search for whatever basic land you want. I've had a lot of success with that deck. I think it competes pretty well with the elf deck.

Is there any other effect of a win other than on the skill ranking? I've never seen a W-L but if there is one I'd like to know where.

The quitting in this game is ridiculous. I still don't have a single win because every time I am about to finish someone off they leave. FFS people, just stick around for 10 more seconds.
