That's half the reason I want it in. The other half is for stuff like Phyrexian Crusader, since I can't Oblivion Ring it. I'd rather a normal 3/3 token come at me than a 2/2 protected, first striking infect
I see other uncommons pretty often. I bought well over 20 packs. Just the luck of the draw this time around, I guess.

Also, looks like I'll be getting an old sealed Ravnica Fat Pack from a friend later this week that he had sitting around. Which I should probably sell since it goes for a lot, but god damn do I love ravnica obsessively, which means I'll almost assuredly keep it and open it for the deck boxes themselves, not to mention the chances of the shocklands.
Whenever we go back to Ravnica in a future set I am going to buy so many cards. I loved that set so much.
Went hog wild today on eBay and bought a few things for my G/W token deck.
Picked up Wurmcoil Engine x2, Hero of Bladehold and two Elspeth Tirel's. Pretty excited to see how they fit in.
Been debating over what to put in between Birds of Paradise and Avaracyn's Pilgrim as well. Any thoughts? I'm leaning toward the Birds.

In other news, I love that Graveborn deck. Part of me wants to buy multiples, but I don't really care much about legacy and will probably just wind up letting the extras sit around in their boxes collecting dust (kinda like my single copy of F&L, heh). Still contemplating getting 2... the new arts get me randy, baby.

That's awesome. I wish I played during Ravnica, because the cards I've seen from that set seem really interesting. Feels like a really fun block to play. I'd definitely buy boxes to draft/play sealed with if they weren't so bloody expensive.

I kinda want to also, but I don't have much practice with sideboarding. Plus, there are a few additional cards I can add to make my decks more competitive. Once I can beat my friends consistently, I will look into the tourney scene more seriously.
I've been testing out Delver of Secrets in my U/W control deck and for me, it's been stellar so far over Doomed Traveler and Invisible Stalker. A possible 3/2 flying on T2 attacking gives me quick offense and evasiveness at the same time. I have plenty of Sorcery and Instances to give him a chance to transform plus x4 Ponders to help set up transformation if necessary.
I only have a Sword of War and Peace and I don't feel like shelling out for more swords. This makes my Geist of Saint Traft pretty weak if I can't clear the board to swing. I threw in Spirit Mantles but if I can't combo the two, Spirit Mantle is pretty weak. Yall think maybe Vapor Snag or Frost Breath is a good substitute to get GoST thru for dmg?

Still PM me, I can probably come up with an offer, but it'll obviously be more than a bit under eBay single price (since selling cards on ebay = 12-14% instantly taken away by fees, which is likely where I'd end up slowly pawning off everything but the forces and certain merfolk stuff), but still well over SCG/vendor buy prices.
What is the general kerfuffle around the tournament play changes that this letter from the Wizards president is addressing? I've seen allusions to people being mad on Twitter and whatnot, but haven't found a good summary of what the issue is.

Delver of Secrets is a surprisingly great card. I can't believe it doesn't get more play. Invisible Stalker, on the other hand, is my boy. I can't believe he isn't a bigger staple. Him, plus Swords and counterspells... how is that not already winning tournys?

Compared to other decks that are a lot more aggro, they are going to do more dmg and fast by turn 4. I rather play Delver T1, get the chance to swing for 3 already by T2 and keep mana leak up, play Mirran Crusader/Geist/Blade Spilcer T3, then going from there by T4. In the first ideal set up, I'm only doing 4 dmg by T4 which can die from a sac a creature spell. In the second ideal set up, I'm possbily doing 9 dmg from Delver alone by turn 4 while possibly playing mana leak on T2 along the way, then setting up more creatures on T3. IMO, slow dmg and sac creatures spells puts Invis Stalker at the bottom.
You can sell in a lot on eBay, but you'll likely get around a 30-40% deduction on the total price of your collection as singles, minimally. Then eBay fees are 9-11%, PayPal fees are 3%, and if the collection is listed poorly or your account is new.mf.luder said:

None of the options are good, frankly, but if you have high value stuff amongst tons of worthless rates you'll have a much better time selling everything off.
Thanks dude. I'm not too familiar with the new stuff but am pretty confident in my old stuff. Like right now I have some foils up there and this rare island from the MTG guru program. Listing my 2 Gaea's Cradle shortly. But I wouldn't mind sending the rest of my shit to a gaffer for reasonable.
Yeah, the guru island and 2x cradle should fetch you a fair amount of coin on eBay listed individually. Also, if you have really rare stuff (like that island), offer to ship overseas. I got $170 for my grim that way; none of the other grims on eBay would ship to spain. Sold mine to a guy who's bought (and paid in full for, I contacted the other sellers) like 5 grand in magic cards in the last year. And he paid $30 shipping so I could track and insure!mf.luder said:

the idea im working with is to have the probe and baubles effectively reduce my working decksize to 48 and act as weak tutors to get me my chains/anvil out asap. after that i can abuse extreme low casting cost and discard mechanics to reduce or neutralize his remaining playable cards and eventually win with shortfang and/or liliana's caress.
im thinking 16 land is still probably too much given how low cost i want to keep everything atm. so im wondering if i should cut maybe 4 more for true tutors or possibly another creature control card. either a regenerator like a drudge skellie or removal. removal appeals to me more but black removal tends to have the 'nonblack' requirement and i don't like having useless cards based on what colour my opponent plays.
so my question is, are there any new/old options for tutors i should consider? new cheapie regenerators? maybe a flying regenerator? [but i feel like shortfang + liliana would be hard to out dps by a flyer deck]
dont let the newer cards in the deck mislead you, i don't know anything about the new sets beyond the few cards I've seen in my friends card boxes.

Statistically, they had like what 10 people competing out of ~350? Yet they took 4 out of 8 spots. Pure domination.
That's the best red card draw I've seen in... maybe ever. Not sure I like that it exists from a flavor standpoint, but I love that it exists from a red player perspective.
I'm pretty sure Wheel of Fortune trumps it easily. Drawing 7 cards for 3 mana is pretty ridiculous.
I think it does fit red. Flavor wise, it represents the desperation of coming up with ideas and then abandoning them in favor of new ones. It's chaotic, impulsive, unplanned, something that fits red. I never understood how "looting" effects fit in Blue, anyway, it always felt like more of a design/balance decision than one inspired by flavor.

It fits blue because blue is searching for knowledge or useful information and discarding what is no longer needed. The chaos in red usually comes from the random discard that is attached to most draw red cards. But I won't complain, it'll be a fun combo enabler.

That card feels like something that will be a very important utility piece to some dominant R/B deck. Smells like a Legacy staple to me.
Change it to blue, subtract the flashback and move it back a decade or so

Well there is Snapcaster Mage now. It should see quite a bit of Standard play with this block having so much flashback coming.
