Difference is this actress can actually "act" even if you don't find her attractive or looks like how you think Lois should look, she still will most likely own this role if they wrote her character the right way. She's wanted to be Lois since she was a little girl. Bosworth was a little girl playing Lois as a mommy.
Have you not seen Adams body of work compared to Bosworth's?

He's huge, there are better photos out there. Every suit has some padding though.

I love it. I just treat it as what it is to me: a collection of amazing videogame cutscenes. =)
You'd be surprised how often that happens. Look at Bryan Singer and the young Clark Kent in Superman Returns.
I just didn't think too hard about it and enjoyed the action, visuals, and eye candy. The concept itself was kind of cool as well so overall was a great movie to me.
Writers, filmmakers, etc, they all tend to project them selves on at least one character.
