It's ostensibly the three-part origin of Superman (Krypton, him searching for who he is, then him being the man-o-steel) with some Zod focus. Lots of fist fighting.
I still don't get the fact the guy was shooting him with a far more lethal weapon before that and bullets were just bouncing off Supes chest and then he decides to pick up a smaller gun and aim for his eye.
Then has a look of surprise when the bullet hits his eye and falls to the ground. Worlds dumbest random criminal perhaps.
"I mean nothing by it, its just that when I read the description I actually laughed out loud.
Can't wait. "
Ahh okay. I mean I haven't read it, I was just curious.
Frankly, it just looked cool & showed some desperation on the bank robber's part. Plus, it made the crook look even more scummy to try and blow someone's eyes out at point-blank. And yeah, it showcased his invulnerability (something you kind of need to do in order for any payoff later with kryptonite, just like in the first Donner film & the Luthor hazards scene).

Smallville did a vicious kryptonite bullet scene once, and it was early in the show. I want to say it was season two, but the idea was that Clark had basically perfected using his speed to dodge bullets, then got tough enough to simply grab them or block them after the first season.
Someone sniped him with a k-bullet, Clark hears it coming, and thinks he can effortlessly grab it. Ouch. (video).
I'm not gonna read that spoiler trailer description as much as I want to. The last Man of Steel trailer description was leaked about a week before it's real release and it ended up being 100% spot on.
Gonna go into this trailer as spoiler free as possible.
Some of the article makes it sound a bit like Earth One in how Superman's revealed.
Based on footage EW has seen, the film (which was directed by Zack Snyder and shepherded by Christopher Nolan) has plenty of building-smashing, train-slinging, heat-vision-blasting battles to cut through the emotional heaviness.

I'm holding out, but people in here are going to start spoiling stuff it seems. Trailer better hit next week.
God damn Cavill is Supes. Great to finally see the legit shot on the EW cover. Can't believe Cnn or was it Superherohype? using the spiked hair fan made one in that Zimmer OST article.
That mag will be in my mailbox very soon, love free mag subscriptions that never seem to end.
Whats with the Superman gets all "hot" line though? lol
The makers of Man of Steel had to start thinking like a cadre of supervillains: how do you get under Superman’s invincible skin and really make him hurt?
This week’s cover story reveals how the new film (out June 14) attempts to humanize the superhuman by finding new flaws and vulnerabilities.
The most common one, however, was off the table: “I’ll be honest with you, there’s no Kryptonite in the movie,” says director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) Those glowing green space rocks – Superman’s only crippling weakness – have turned up so often as a plot point in movies, the only fresh option was not to use it. Anyway, if you want to make an audience relate to a character, a galactic allergy isn’t the way to do it.
Henry Cavill (Immortals), the latest star to wear the red cape, instead plays a Superman who isn’t fully comfortable with that god-like title. This film reveals that
even on Krypton, young Kal-El was a special child, whose birth was cause for alarm on his home planet. (More on that in the magazine). And once on Earth, his adoptive parents, Ma and Pa Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane), urge him not to use his immense strength – even in dire emergencies — warning that not every human would be as accepting of him as they are.
So Clark Kent grows up feeling isolated, longing for a connection to others, and constantly hiding who he is. As a result, Man of Steel presents the frustrated Superman, the angry Superman, the lost Superman. “Although he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties,” Cavill says.
As a life-long Superman fan, I've always hated the concept of kryptonite, and Snyder's right with it being pretty much a crutch and a cliche at this point. We can find some other ways to make Superman vulnerable than a green space-rock invented entirely by the 1940's radio serial.
That second bit is also pretty intriguing.
It explain's Pa Kent's morbid line from the trailer.
Interesting to see where the first spoiler will bring us ....
Kripton on Kripton weakness ? Magic Users ? Solar Eclipse ? Friends in Danger ?
A cosmic allergy sux, but an invencible overpowered character is not good either

Yeah, I agree. While it can be a neat narrative device (even poetic), I'd frankly like to see the public stop thinking this needs to be an element in every major Superman story (even though it was only in two Superman films prior).
Yea I noticed that just now, almost like they photoshopped his face from a different scene and stuck it on that cgi armor. Odd. I'm pretty sure that won't be an issue in the movie itself.

I have yet to be convinced that Michael Shannon was good casting for this part and that new picture doesn't help. I hope he's awesome but man he looks bad. And after Premium Rush...
