This thing is probably dropping Sunday, then. I can't imagine it's going to stay like this all the way through to Tuesday, or even next Friday.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's been shipped out to theaters already, honestly.

wtf indeed at the website. Feels like some Dark Knight marketing going on lol

That's some strange sounding static... alien like :P

"My father believed that when the world had a chance to see my final trailer, they'd reject it out of fear of spoilers. He was convinced the world wasn't ready. What do you think?"

"Focus on the trailer, pretend is an island out in the ocean, can you see it?

General Zod incoming!!

:O

Seems like it :D Or maybe Kal-El's baby ship being picked up on some sorta of radar.

I'm sure its Zod related though.

So come from work all day to something going on. Nice.

Got my EW issue in the mail too. Some of the action set pieces sound too good to be true like say,
a locomotive being used to clobber Superman in a street fight or a truck getting destroyed by a single punch. Can't wait to see that shit

Give me the trailer already.

Don't spend an obscene amount of time in a thread for an upcoming movie and constantly bitch if little details get spoiled.....

Anyways as someone who's always hated Superman, I'm pretty pumped for this. Snyder has done a great job of getting away from the cliche imagery of Superman.

Wow. Its already better than Superman Returns

I got my EW mag in the mail as well. To read the article or just wait for the trailer.... arghhhh

That Cavill two page spread looks even better in person... Superman brought to fucking life.

Is the trailer supposed to drop next week or something? Because the Thor trailer is supposed to come within two weeks as well, very excited for both.

Yea let Simo tell you guys. I haven't read it lol

fuck, really? thanks for the good news, I very much liked the first Thor

the Superman one needs to sell me hard, though. Snyder has to tone down the goddamned slowdowns

I guess there's a countdown hidden in the source of the static feed on the official site that looks to be counting down to either tomorrow night or Monday depending on how you round out the decimals...or something.

arghhh no way it's anything but the trailer. GIVE ME NOW

Being sucks is more likely than bomb at this point.

Honestly? It's anybody's guess at this point.

Superman Returns was eventually polarizing but grossed ~400 million. A great sum of money, but not for Superman.

Man of Steel looks like it's going to at least make that much money, due to a wider spread of men being interested in seeing it, but so far not a lot of women are apparently interested. If it reviews well and has reasons for your average person to see it multiple times, who knows what WB will have here.

I'm excited, but I'm not 100% convinced it's going to be fan-fackin'-tastic. But I'm hopeful.

everything that you're going to see on screen is from the last 30 years of Superman comics. so if anything he's just using the source material and (hopefully) showing the world that there are plentuy of good stories to tell with the character.

Yeah, that's fairly true from what we know. The film is shaping up to be:

This is fine by me.

everything. :D pls

Here's a few with the spoilery ones hidden..
Screenwriter, David S. Goyer, reveals to Entertainment Weekly that the children of Krypton (Superman's home planet) are engineered. "People were bred to be warriors or scientists or what-have-you, and there's a whole element in the movie about nature versus nurture," Goyer says. EW adds, "Kal-El is unique because he's a natural conception, free from genetic manipulation to choose his own course in life - which also makes his existence highly illegal."

"What if a child dreamed of becoming something other than what society had intended? What if a child aspired to something greater?" :)

On General Zod:
Terrance Stamp portrayed the character as an icy warlord in Superman II, but Shannon sees him as more of a die-hard supremacist. "He actually has some affection for anybody who's a Kryptonian, including Superman," Shannon says. "He doesn't really have any malignant feelings toward him; he just wants him to be patriotic.

On the suit, which is a part of Kryptonian warrior culture:
"All their armor goes on top of the suits," Deborah Snyder explains. But because Superman's a refugee, his iconic outfit in our world doesn't have the snap-on battle gear, which would make him a defenseless man on his own Kryptonian turf.

On Faora:
She's described as a "psychopath" who hates all men and mankind.
"She is an engineered being, and driven by the need and pleasure of killing."

There's a great still with Faora and "others" that Sculli posted a page or 2 back and goes with the theory that
with Clark being on Earth longer he's more accustomed to our yellow sun so that when Zod and Faora show up there's a sensory overload on their body when they are exposed.

On Lois Lane, and taking a cue from Mark Waid's Birthright:
She's chasing down reports
of a wandering stranger who is capable of superhuman feats of strength.
"She's very transient. She's ready to pick up and go at a moment's notice," Adams says, noting that the trait is shared by Lois and Clark. "That definitely could be part of what she sees in Superman-not really laying down roots, not developing trust."

EW also hints at some of the action based on the footage they saw, like a truck being destroyed by a single punch and street fight involving Superman, Kryptonians and a
locomotive.

Damn I didn't remember Tom Welling being so chunky.

Yea age caught up to him and he became Fatman (well compared to how fit he was before). I really think that also had to do with him not wanting to wear the whole suit.
