Asano works with that really well. Sometimes with photoshop backgrounds the impossible detail of it clashes horribly with the character art, but good composition ensures good integration on his part.

And sometimes the contrast works in his favor as with PunPun, yeah, he is good at what he does.

You can't judge an entire medium by a couple of works. You don't go around hand picking shitty manga and saying all manga is shit. Manga is comics. It falls under the same medium. Just because you call it something different, doesn't mean it's not all just drawings in panels with dialogue bubbles. Just like Japanese comics have a wide range of genres, topics, and styles, so do Western comics. Not everything is super hero comics. Not everything is traced from porn (don't be ridiculous). Not everything has "bad proportions." Just like not every manga has OP's proportions or JoJo's ridiculous poses or To Love Ru's "accidental" soft core porn. All manga is pornography! All manga has ridiculous poses! All manga has ridiculous proportions!

Don't write off all of these books just because of a couple of comics you saw. You will miss something great.

They come so close to finally cooperating than all of a sudden fall out. Though it was funny how when Rukawa was showing Sakuragi how to do a lay up that he would accidently throw the ball at him, and vice versa, and ultimately when they started doing multiple balls. But I was glad, at least, Sakuragi did seem to follow and try to emulate things from Rukawa during the next day private scene on the court. Definitely has potential I think

Inuyasha 559 Epilogue Extra

Nothing particulary special happened but it was nice to see everyone again after a long time. Kinda upset it only takes place half a year after the end, since I rather liked to see a kid from Inuyasha and Kagome and a grown up Rin.

It's about what everyone expected though, especially after the FMA extra last year. That said it was nice seeing how everyone's grown-up a bit. Also was I looking at it wrong or did Sango have like four kids already?

Oh Great being Oh Great.

He is just doing the art on this one lol.

That's what makes it all the more insane.

What the fuck did I just read?

I mean seriously...what did I just read? This makes Air Gear look like Shakespeare.

:lol I remember when the first translations came out, I got half way through the chapter then just closed the window and went on my way.

Nah, there was three kids and a shippo.

Wouldn't be surprised if they had another in a year.

Either way it's already completely incomprehensible.
I just refuse to believe that someone else was like "I should write a story for OG, his manga are too easy to follow".

Holy shit indeed, never knew that either. Well, that was great, I can relate to every single panel and lololol at the Lautrec joke. This is now my second favorite DS doujin, you just cannot compete with moe Priscilla.

You missed a random fight that made no sense lead into a girl on the toilet saying her poo has come back in.

And apparently I made the right decision. Seriously though, that bad? I can't believe it got worse from where I stopped.
It's so bad it's kinda endearing, if that was the first chapter, you have to be curious how the future chapters will be like.

Well I'll wait for the next chapter and read both at once, maybe it'll help. (That'll just make it worse won't it?)

One Piece vol 1-3

Dropping. This clearly isn't for me. I hate everything about the art, from character/world designs to the action scenes, I hate Luffy, and I hate the inconsistent tones (everything is super deformed and fun, and then you have a bunch of soldiers ordered to commit suicide and they do it?!?). I'm probably going to try to catch up in Naruto instead (I stopped reading in 2005) so I can say I'm current in at least 1 of the big 3.

I'm not the biggest fan of American comics, but there are some I am passionately in love with. The Punisher stories published under the MAX imprint, especially Garth Ennis's run on the book from 2004-2009, are all incredible, and I'm a sucker for entirely painted comics, like Alex Ross's Marvels, or even X-Force: Sex and Violence.

That is one weird compliant.

That isn't inconsistency sounds like you just hate the cartoon like art.

Kiruko-san 9

Hilariously humourless. This series had a good run etc.

Also how the fructose did I miss that Abnormal-kei Joshi is by the Hyakko author when I've read both of them in the past week?

Coming back from the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 plot synopsis thread, I'm really wondering ... do you guys read US comics too?

Yup. I'm still a newbie, but when I'm looking for a western comic to read, I usually choose by this order: (1) writer (2) artist (3) the characters/team/etc.
And I lurk comic-gaf, hah.
I like Iron Man, but I didn't bother picking up the current series because it's drawn by the porn tracing dude (Greg Land). lol. I have no idea why this guy gets any work.

The current Batman and Hawkeye books are pretty great. Saga, American Vampire, and Locke & Key are good non-super hero stuff. There's obiously more, but these are the ones I dig the most right now.

I watched it when it was on Toonami, lots of blood and violence and cursing. It's pretty crazy. I'm honestly waiting for it to finish before picking it up.

As far as American comics go, you follow the writers most of the time. Snyder, Hickman, Fraction, Waid, Reminder are all putting out really great books. Slott's Spidey is worth a shot as well since it's not as bad as it sounds.

Wow thanks. I believe its worth reading.

Deadman Wonderland 52

That battle was pretty good. Hagire going berserk is creepy.

And lol at him telling Ganta what Shiro is but the mangaka just blocks it.
