True. Not that it matters much since there isn't much to spoil. It would be nice if people added more text to their posts rather than just .jpg dumps. Everyone wants to be DTL but no one puts in the effort!
Do I put in enough effort?

Well some references are changed but they still make sense.
They changed the title to "Les vacances de Jésus & Bouddha" (Jesus & Buddha's holidays), you still have Saint Young Men on the cover though but the french title is more explicit.
Overall it's not a "note heavy" translation, it would be bad for the flow of the manga if they had to explain every references. It's still funny as hell.
I see. I hope Vertical picks it up soon.

Wake Up Deadman

This continues to be the only good online Manwha.
Annarasumanara is also good but it's probably not the kind of manga you will enjoy

I need something intresting to read does anyone have any suggestions?
Im caught up on OP,Berserk and Ippo. Naruto and Bleach arnt worth reading anymore for me. I do need to go back and catch up with Soul Eater ,Hunter X Hunter and Beelzbub

Something that is complete would be good like Lost boys (I think that was the name? set in the past-present and future)
You read Pluto I presume? Then read Getenrou. They both deal with similar themes plus it's short so it shouldn't take you a long time to finish it.

Aw yeah! The best josei manga in the fuckin world is being translated again!

Satanister

I never trusted those milkmen! Was only a matter of time before one poisoned it.

This tournament is going to be so damn awesome. So many crazy murders each with their own theme. It's like Suda51 mixed with a grindhouse film. Can't wait.
But I thought Usagi Drop was the best josei manga

I totally get that it was played for laughs - I mean, the part with the trains following her, etc. was pretty funny. But in the end the suspension of disbelief about how manga characters act started to fall apart when you realized Naru didn't have any deeper reason to reject her feelings for Keitaro AT ALL. Like, its not like she fell in love with her dead husband's best friend or something. Keitaro was just a guy who was into her and she flipped out out and refused to just acknowledge it because tsundere.
My main issue is that she only really turned around after Keitaro turned into Seta. I don't care if anyone says that didn't happen, it did. And I agree that is was completely obvious that Keitaro was into her. Though she could just be a tease... Eventually she fell in love with dark Keitaro I guess but it more felt like she gave in. Ken is a hack. Negima... Naru was a poorly written character only used to lengthen the story and provide the violent retribution for accidental infringement. Again though, I still like that personality. ;) Mean tsundere, especially ones who play mind games, are top tier.

/Gahara, my ojou.
The last few volumes of the "will they or won't they?!" was pretty awful to be honest. Even the harem arcs after weren't quite as bad (though they certainly went off the deep end).
Yea, that was the low point for sure. How about go to one of your rooms and lock the doors?
Sounds kinda like when some single dudes have lofty expectations of what their desired girl should be and scoffs at any who doesn't meet them.
Except when they married he did meet them with his lame form. Which teaches readers the important lesson of either a) Reject all girls who aren't animu perfect or scoff at ones for not being so even if they are way out of your league b) Change yourself to be exactly like a girl wants you to be or you are SOL.

Important life lessons.
so we are talking about chidori right

Man i wish there was another fumoffu
One of my favorites. Has human tendencies unlike Naru and just as mean. Also goes dere and shows her feelings much more.
Air Gear.
NO
Fairy Tail
NO

Soul Cartel 7

Well they must have read my mind for seven came fast. One of my theories was proved wrong and possibly lots of fans as to
Faust's identity
, which was actually pretty well done in my opinion.
Totally though it would be the main character.
. I cant pronounce korean names in this for beans.

Hope we go to the underworld.

Mangaf, I come to you for recommendations because I am sure there are series out there I don't know about that I should read. While I enjoy the plain barmy stuff out there (I LOVE that Chicken George one you lot were going in about recently, and reread Uzumaki pretty recently), but what I'm really looking for is probably not in your ballpark...

Basically I'm after something like X (I own most CLAMP already) or Angel Sanctuary (or even something like Mizu ni Sumu Hana)- dark shoujo fantasy with great art and endless plot twists where neither the men nor the women are shitty stand-around-on-sidelines characters.

Either that or good vaguely romantic fantasy. I love Saki Hiwatari's stuff like Please Save My Earth or Global Garden, where the aesthetic is shoujo but the themes are relatively complex and the romance isn't all there is to it.

I'm cool with shounen/seinen that isn't porny and doesn't sideline either gender. Would Dorohedoro be a good suggestion for a dark fantasy story?

(also I love Urasawa's Monster etc. So any suggestions like those would be awesome)

Thank you in advance ManGAF if you can help!

Basara aka Legend of Basara

The story takes place in a future Japan, reduced to a barren desert by a catastrophe at the end of the 21st century. The main character is Sarasa, a girl whose twin brother, Tatara, is prophesied to be the "child of destiny" (運命の子供 or 運命の少年) who will bring back the country's independence and stop the tyrannical rule of the Empire, namely the Red King. When Tatara is killed, Sarasa pretends to be him in order to keep the downtrodden from losing hope.

The characters are great but the art might get some time to get into though.

Well, she had the moments prior to his full on transformation but her progress and his progress happened essentially simultaneously so you're left with "Keitaro Seta v2. + Naru admitting she's fallen for him" happening at roughly the same time.

Though, I'd say it was obvious (to the reader) long before then, just the character's own admission happened later.

Yea, that was the low point for sure. How about go to one of your rooms and lock the doors?

I should have specified, the "will they or won't they?!" get together part, not the "lolsex?!" arc. Which was so bad that it's not even worth mention. Because it's awful. Just awful.

Which is funny since not posting pictures of new chapters is one of the grand 2 guidelines of this thread :p

I keep mine to blush line panels!

If you liked Pluto then read Getenrou. Just don't let the first chapter fool you.

I don't read much romantic fantasy manga so I'm not knowledgeable enough in that area but maybe something like The Music of Marie would be close enough to what you want

Heh I just finished reading this like 5 minutes ago. Really good stuff.
Do you know any other similar manhwa?

First of all yes Dorohedoro sounds like it might be up your alley.

As for other recommendations:

Princess is epic fantasy shoujo without the fantasy (think Basara). The art is kind of awful and I think the author bailed on it but despite all of that it is still my favorite shoujo manga by far. It's just such a grand well thought out story.

Diotima has a lot in common with Please Save My Earth and is really good, but it's been on haitus forever and I kind of doubt the author will go back to it.

If you like Monster then you could try MW, the manga it was inspired by.

Kisshou Tennyo is like a josei version of Monster where Johan is the main character and a girl. Akimi Yoshida is basically the shoujo version of Urasama when she does suspense.

And some more recommendations that don't quite fit your requirements, but I think are way cool and am going to recommend anyway.

Japan Tengu Party Illustrated
Witches
The Music of Marie

Do you know any other similar manhwa?

I haven't read a ton of those online ones, but I like Cheese in the Trap and Ties of Compassion.

The main idea though is that it was always "be more like Seta." Constantly, for both those idiots. And Keitaro became him on their wedding day to the letter. You could fill in the boring time skip with Naru rejecting marriage proposals over and over until he went Seta-saiyan. He became enough Seta before the time skip to bed her. But overall the idea was that they had success because Keitaro "matured" into someone Naru was in love with.

Wait that's how you saw it?

I alway thought of it as Keitaro just doing what he does regardless and that was finally enough for her to relent those lofty expectations and accept him but then it got ruined imo since in the end he turned into what she wanted before anyways.

I let the romantic in me ignore everything about him literally becoming Seta. Really, the plot would have been that much better if they hadn't made him a literal Seta clone eventually and just made him in the same occupation.

But, I do think that it was Keitaro as Keitaro that won her over, regardless of the Seta-saiyan mode.

Yea that started to rub me the wrong way. If he just had the same occupation or something it wouldn't be so bad but he literally did everything Seta did at that point.

I believe this as well but it was kinda unfortunate it wasn't ultimately shown better (iirc the only scene that somewhat kept Keitaro as Keitaro was the "trip" scene).

So for gunbo's thought i think that's a little extreme imo and undoes all the stuff i think Keitaro did on his own.

I'm not saying Keitaro wasn't being Keitaro. He would have to in order to turn into Seta-saiyan. During his "maturation" or whatever though, he was constantly reminded that Seta does things more to Naru's liking. So he sort of emulated it but failed most of the time.

But what other force besides "be like Seta" was Keitaro working with? Naru loved Seta, Keitaro wanted Naru, and Seta mentored Keitaro. Not to mention that he did eventually go full Seta-clone. As we saw Keitaro develop, was that on his own or just another step to being Seta? If you argue that Keitaro was on his own, then how can you explain him going Seta-saiyan all of a sudden? Sure, that could be just Ken's shitty writing but it still showed a pattern. So I still take this was Keitaro maturing at the beat of Seta, even if in the narrative there were only small ambiguous hops.

The way it's actually presented is that he had no goal or ambition and fell into working with Seta and developing that passion. I'd like to say that that occurred independently of Naru. His mentor figure happened to be Seta. He worked for him prior to finding out about that history, thought of himself as having to beat him for Naru, and then developed into legitimately enjoying the field himself. That final step of "becoming Seta" was just wholly unnecessary and hurts the narrative since, yeah, it kind of paints it "rather than beat him, just become him."

Still, there were enough moments throughout prior to Seta-saiyan that indicated that Naru was more in love with Keitaro himself rather than any attachment to Seta. Love vs infatuation sort of thing.

Just my take on it, anyway.

That's the end of the fight. As usual, I have no fucking idea what Arata did to win or what all these moves and people they keep mentioning do. All what I know is she got locked in that space-time thingy and they gonna rescue her somehow. Oh and there is an evil girl doing evil stuff.

It's Not My Fault That I'm Not Popular! 23

Getting called out in the class must have sucked for her

Fairy Tail

Who knew the circumstances would bring together Fairy Tail's truly strongest team. Gray, Gajeel with the cool headband upgrade, and Natsu are going to destroy ting and Rogue and its gonna be fantastic. We don't even have to worry about Lucy getting in the way. It was also kind of funny how Sting kept that same smile the whole chapter.

Now if he can get dark mage Zeref to come back and get a dragon and Acnologia back, then I think it would easily transcend Tower of Heaven and Edolas for the best arc yet.

That part with the points is just frustrating. I'm willing to look the other way for the merger, I can just lie to myself that the administration did it to get Lucy out. But, dude.

I'm calm. I'm good. I'm composed, okay? The points make no sense. They just don't. You can't talk me out of this.

These judges don't know what the hell.

Much better. Eclipse bastard is at it again.

Yeah, you could just read that. It doesn't have anything to do with the previous 6 parts.

Well, getting familiar with stands and the art is not a bad thing. Besides there is Dio. I don't know if jumping right in is the best approach, it's still part of the jojo main adventure.

Metallic Colors

4 chapters and a fine shoujo, decent read.

This probably just ruined it for me. Keitaro definitely did his own thing to some degree but he did go Seta-saiyan. It just casts doubt that a lot of his development, including during the time skip, was wholly his own. I mean Ken even did the car crashing thing. Come the fuck on with that.

But I'll step back and say that if he didn't go Seta-saiyan then I would be with you guys. It just changed the story a bit for me thinking Keitato really was aiming to go that route, at least to some degree. Which ruined a lot of his individualism and really capped off the series on a shitty note. It was a complete "are you fuking serious?" moment for me while reading. I was rooting for him to be his own dude and win out. Not eventually become his rival.

Fairy Tail

It's not the most powerful team in FT since Mira is not in it.

I can't wait to see what kind of DS are the ST DS.

I really hope that other DS have DF. At least let Gajeel have it.

Fairy Tail

I hope that the fights are good.

Trinity Seven

lol at the tsundere comment. Arata is not gonna let his harem diminish.

One Outs 120

What a way to blueball the players.

Damn right. Counter boxing can really pull off some comebacks well.

Trinity Seven

I'm not sure I understand this, if she sped up time, doesn't that mean that a lot of time already passed for her while they were talking? Then getting her back would essentially mean she got a time skip.
But I can understand Arata not wanting to give her up. He shouldn't settle for a single boob less.

Also seems like cousin is enemy which was isn't that crazy of a twist, but I like it. Still possible she isn't though.

Fairy Tail

Bullshit. Natsu should have been fighting Minerva, I don't give a fuck about the rivalry thing they set up with Sting. She's the one who hurt Lucy, she's the one who should be eating a lightning/fire fist to the face.

Setup chapter. Eh.

Can't wait for the power of friendship to curbstomp Sabretooth.

And of course the big "shocking" reveal will be that the Sabretooth DS's never actually killed their dragons, they're not bad guys, blah blah blah.

The World Ignis Only Knows

I'm still not sure what's going on but Tenri seems more knowledgeable than anyone else.

Hoping that while Keima sorts out the stuff, he'll take this chance to buy some special limited editions/out of print games. If you change the future, might as well set yourself up too.

Time travel, eh? This will either be a lot of fun to read or end terribly. I wonder how Tenri knew about the orb. I'm guessing this means Dokurou still has a part to play in this arc. I wonder if we'll be seeing everyone else's younger selves as well or if this will be mainly about young Keima and Tenri (+mystery girl).

I feel like I never know what the hell is going on in this manga. That whole fight scene was like some alien moon language. And I really wish this was weekly, because for some reason I can never remember whats going on after the month wait.
