THE BOG IS HERE, MY BODY IS READY

Sakazaki really trusts people too easily. He didn't even investigate Kaiji or try to test him to see if he is a trustworthy guy. Just saw him being badass at scaring off some kids and asked him to be his partner. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.

One noticeable difference from the anime is that the Bog looks way smaller. I'm pretty sure the anime version Bog was much bigger and the trays with the balls were also much bigger. Then again, that one doesn't top the ridiculous live action film version.

Poor Sakazaki getting played like a fool for an entire volume. He never stood a chance at winning yet that glimmer of hope when the last ball went in made it more sad knowing he won't win. He kept fighting and having hope until his final moments. He really does trust people too much. First hoping that Kaiji wouldn't rat him out and also trusting that friend at the casino which obviously backstabbed him leading to the plan's failure

What a twist! /Mnight Lots of great shit happening in this chapter. We also get a bit of Ootori's background and it makes him a little more sympathetic and look like creepier or a bigger bastard. Makoto continues to be the highlight in this series though, <3 Makoto.

This is pretty cool. It's a weird manga about an evil guy with a fishbowl for a head who is turning people into fish and the swimsuit wearing people who try to stop him. It's very crazy and imaginative and the art is great.

The premise alone sounds hilarious.

Goblin Night

There's a bunny girl in this.

Rough summary: 'Goblin Night' refers to an event that happened six years ago, after which people could turn into 'goblins' (basically demons). Some people are strong goblins, others are weak. Since their abilities are a bit supernatural, chaos descended because the government couldn't take care of those who decided to go rogue. Ushibi Mamoru is one of those who can transform into a goblin, and his Goblin form is Kozuki (Bull-horned Demon), with strong fire abilities. He ignores those who ask for his help and uses his Goblin as he pleases.

The art seems a bit weak, but it might be the style. The sort-of post-apocalyptic setting is interesting and easily expandable. I'm glad that the story didn't go where I thought it would, and the way Mamoru's Goblin worked had an interesting twist. The aloof attitude of Mamoru's character plays nicely into the Goblin power as well. If it got serialized right now, it could definitely beat out Takamagahara.

The bunny girl is a main character, so I guess that helps. The name could probably also be read as Goblin Knight, the 'knight' referring to Kozuki.

Probably won't be scanlated for a good couple of months though.

Will never understand why tl are so against using the anime and official manga names. Anyway, LYON not losing was actually pretty good and I didnt find fault with it being an off panel fight largely.

Pretty hyped for the next chapter though as Ive been waiting for this. A four dragon slayers team battle, with the best dragonslayers in the series (Natsu, Gajeel, Rouge) fighting it out will probably be intense and amazing. I wonder if he will extend it over five or more chapters.

The dragons look great.

Kaiji Part 2 - vol 7, 8, 9

Total and complete despair . That moment when the last ball failed to hit the target must have sucked a lot for Sakazaki. Ichijou is a fine troll, telling Sakazaki to keep gambling with the last 6 millions yen as if it would have made a difference. Love the page when Kaiji realized the trick to beating the Bog.

The greatest team up ever is formed in the next volume. Endo still being an asshole even when he is desperate and needs the money as much as Kaiji. I think I would have preferred it more if they got a girl to join their team just like the movie, but with Fukumoto's art, it probably wouldn't have made a different, she will look like a guy anyway. The nail thing still looks painful, I thought, but Kaiji's reaction face is fucking amazing. The trick Kaiji used to get to Ichijou's office is really cool. Relying on Sakazaki to act crazy to distract everyone while sneaking in to the office and even then, Ichijou would have no idea that Kaiji's real goal is just to cast away their suspicions. Just amazing.

The face of the devil. Such a crazy and sadistic dude going as far as broadcasting the match to show the prisoners the futility and helplessness of their situation. I fucking loved it when the gates were finally broken, amazing buildup to it. I didn't bother reading all the science and explanations behind it, I'd much prefer my version of Kaiji breaking the gates through will and determination only. I can't wait until he starts explaining how he planned to beat the plates, probably most ridiculous and crazy part of his entire plan
