I don't get this. He still needs to beat Eizan's cooking. All he's been doing is trying to find a way to actually make it into a contest, instead of a completely rigged game. He clearly had a plan for his dish, what he didn't have a concrete plan (at first) for was getting the judges to try his food. And he clearly has a plan for that now

Actually he had no plan at all he just made food and taunted Eizan and the judges about it and it worked for no real reason. If Soma had actually known anything about the tendencies of the judges or Eizan it would be different. He basically just Leeroy Jenkins'd it and got away with it.

Based off of all the interactions they've had up to this and during the shokugeki, even though it went pretty much how everyone thought it would, I think Soma actually had a plan. Soma evaluated his opponent and was able to read how he would react.

Basically, his plan was to provoke the shit out of his opponent, since he knew Eizan wouldn't take any insults coming from an "inferior" lying down, to the point he or the judges tasted his food. Then he would actually have to beat Eizan with his cooking.

I only say this because up to this point, Eizan has pretty much just been "you are so much worse than me" and "i will end you" and "you suck" to Soma. Even a brick would be able to tell this person could be easily provoked. Pride, arrogance, and all that stuff.

Just IMO though.

I'm not sure I can encapsulate what it is exactly that I enjoy in easily comprehensible language. It just all around makes me smile. I like the characters and I like what they're doing and I like that it doesn't take itself seriously. I guess that's sort of comprehensible.

Yeah. I really liked that subplot but her being okay with him and him with her and "BUT PARENTS REALLY ALWAYS LOVE YOU" got way too Japany and shoneny way too fast. I was holding out hope that the author of Neuro would stick to some dark guns but I guess since ASSASS is more shoneny that he didn't want it to be as dark.

I just really REALLY hate parent worship culture. "My dad beat me to death but it was due to secret love! *reconcile* Parents always mean well, respect them."
