This manga certainly knows how to push the boundaries of attractiveness. I'm still unsure on Zombina, I mean the whole limb-losing, cut-in-half body stuff is kinda off-putting. But also kinda practical and cute.
As long as the author doesn't think of including visible guts. Then I'm out.
Probably.

Never change, Kashima.

I just don't like that MM falls into the same trap literally every single manga/anime ever does of taking what made a character attractive to begin with (tomboy, aggressive, not shy about sexual stuff or nudity) and then gets rid of fucking all of it as if when someone likes someone they turn into the perfect yameto nadeshiko and must peek shyly from behind a marriage certificate while thinking about having babies. Not every girl needs to be submissive when it comes to relationships or sex.

Like goddammit, I need a manga where the girl asks the guy out or says she likes him and then yells at him to fuck her harder then put it in her ass. Then she kicks the bad guy in the face and he explodes or something, I dunno.

Even America is really bad about this, as if a woman being aggressive or dominant when it comes to relationships or sex emasculates a man and makes him less of a person.

...this was a weird rant.

Sorry this shit bugs me.

It's a perfectly understandable complaint, and sadly there's still a lot of work that needs to be made to abolish the sexist and patriarchic values that still permeate the various media to this day.

While we're on the subject, what are some manga that don't pull that off?

Off hand I guess Biscuit Hammer and Medaka Box, Molester Man maybe. Been a while since I read them though

Amazingly enough Molester Man was the one manga I was thinking of where she's the one who initiates and isn't considered lesser or a whore for doing so. Amusingly, being based on a true story probably helped that (still sorta surprising in Japan).

I'm trying to think of seinen or josei, the two "classes" that would more likely have them than say shonen or ecchi manga or whatever but I am honestly struggling to think of girls who initiate or are aggressive or tomboy-like or like sex who aren't seen as "lesser" or flawed in some way.

I was gonna say Punpun but everyone in that manga is kinda garbage so...I guess they're on equal footing maybe.

Maybe the deaf girl in that manga about boxing by the I Am a Hero author? She comes right out and asks the MC if he wants to fuck her even though she's married to that shitbag and she's never really looked at in a negative light.

There's taking the initiative in relationships too but even without taking the initiative it's cool to see people not doing a 180 after the relationship starts

Hentai.

Kinda of sad when your porn is more progressive than your normal stuff.

I think what's kinda sad is that even in Hentai, it's a bit out of the way (think of how many hentai there are where a girl in control gets raped into liking it or she loses control halfway through or starts out aggressive than "can't take anymore" and shit like that).

Not like I knowingly look for that stuff or anything... >____>

But you're right, it's certainly more prevalent in porn than it is actual manga.

Edit: Yeah, I'm not even talking about sex. A lot of times it's even just how they approach liking someone just like in this MM with Zombina. What about Zombina's character would have shown she would be shy about any of that shit? She literally handed him her tit before. Liking him now would just make her more aggressive about that shit. I think it really bothers me because so much of this weird 180 of a personality type is bad writing because it takes an established character's personality and affixes something to them that they would never do because it's seen as "morally or societally accepted"

Other than your example, there's Shaman King (Yeah, at least Anna was consistent the whole time) and Crying Freeman...
but you're right, what you mention is indeed a rarity.

Anna from Anne Freaks, though that's a terrible example of a healthy relationship
even assuming she's not just using him
.

IIRC Urabe from Mysterious Girlfriend X was pretty consistent in her personality and was basically the shot caller.

Nozomi (x Kimio) is about as forward as they come. She hasn't hooked up with the MC yet though
(at least, not in the English releases)
, so it's not a solid example yet.

I want to say Prunus Girl, but yeah.

lol, Dowman Sayman know what's up. I agree with 5 star rating criticism.
Hmm, yes, piss play, very important information.

Was gonna start reading The Breaker, but is it true that the story doesn't end in New Waves (or whatever the sequel was called)? I don't really like reading on-going series.

New Waves "ends" with the story incomplete, presumably to finish in another sequel series, yet to be announced.

This comes after New Waves was one of the most agonizingly mundane slogs I've ever suffered through.

It doesn't end. The series went off on some hiatus during which, IIRC, author(s?) wants to do some other project or something.

Who would have thought? Kaiji is going to be stomping that old mans face in and Zero will have saved the world before we see Akagi win this match.

It's pretty ridiculous how long this match has lasted, but at least we are nearing the end, right?

Thanks, I'll check it out again in a couple of years in that case lol

Think I'll read Deadman Wonderland, then. Premise is pretty interesting.

Sakuranbo Syndrome 85-90

Now this is what I call bullshit.
In the spawn of 5 chapters we went from Asou confessing her love to Rena and enticing her to have a romantic and sexual relationship between the two of them and Agawa, to Asou hating Rena because she wants to be in a romatnic/sexual relationship with the tree of them... Just because someone else appeared that can help Rena conditions.

Asou actions make no sense and are completely contradictory to her entire character arc up to this point, of not just accepting Rena but also loving her.

Just complete unwarranted and cheap needless drama.

Other than your example, there's Shaman King (Yeah, at least Anna was consistent the whole time) and Crying Freeman...

Huh, yeah, Anna definitely was super consistent with her portrayal. Man, Shaman King was an odd duck. Really threw a lot of shonen tropes right out the window. Crying Freeman I never read, though I obviously know about some of the more infamous scenes of that manga.

IIRC Urabe from Mysterious Girlfriend X was pretty consistent in her personality and was basically the shot caller.

Hrm. I actually got a weird inconsistency from that manga as she is definitely the one controlling the flow of the relationship, but she was a lot different earlier on even with the groping scene in her bedroom. She retracted a lot and became a lot shyer as the series went on, whereas the short-haired/big tits girl was a lot more of the forward one in her relationship. It just seemed odd to go from "Okay, grope my tit" to blushing about some small stuff later.

I want to say Prunus Girl, but yeah.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Thanks, I'll check it out again in a couple of years in that case lol

I really like Deadman Wonderland but a lot of people found it too dark and inconsistent.

Sora Yori Takaku 13
He fuck the daughter, the mother, the grandmother, and their horse.
Living the DREAM!

So, this is a series about demon sibling who was sent to Earth to find the perfect bride for their father. How the author introduce the protagonist, he fucking a pegasus right in front of his brother and father. So yeah, this series start off crazy, and it doesn't seem to stop there. Now, both of them are blessed with power to help them find the perfect bride. Sora, he get the power to talk to animal, while his brother receive the power to create money. It's unfair, but at least Sora has its own way to salvage the situation thanks to his strength, guts, and his dick...
So yeah, crazy series.

Prison School 205
Poor Kiyoshi.

Chihayafuru 159
This was the nicest chapter in a while, but the ending was sad. At least looks like the ship has been decided.

Meeting the bro-in-law next chapter, aw yeah.

Twin Star Exorcists v3

Yuto being the boss is awesome, he has a good design and I loved their friendship back in the day. Hopefully he isn't off'd for another stronger bad guy.
Yuuto's character kind of stinks of this. That flashback when he blushed after Rokuro said he wasn't alone makes me doubt him as the big bad. There's prob something big he was made aware of or something, or there's some sort of weirdness going on with his eyepatch thing.

Mayura may not have been much up to this point, but she looks to be the one to watch in the latest chapters.

Eiyuu Kyoushitsu: Honoo no Empress 1-7 (END)

Generic fantasy LN → manga adaptation in which an overpowered MC enrols at a school with a 'perfect' tsundere heroine and does nothing of interest for 7 chapters. If its aim was to promote the source material, it was a bigger failure than Erina's last birthday party.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Might be a misunderstanding here, I'm 104.72% in favour of Aikawa being a guy!

Shounen☆Princess 1-5/End

Uggg....what a complete and utter shit manga. So much wrong with it, not to mention the fucking attempted bestiality. I need to finish up Usotsuki Lily to get this manga out of my mind, at least that's a good cross-dressing manga.

Been continuing Junji Ito's Uzumaki.

9 chapters into this thing and I don't quite know what to think about it. This is equal parts creepy, hilarious, disturbing, occasionally horrifying, ridonculous, inventive and batshit insane. So random.
