Uzumaki 1-END
I know this manga was supposed to be horror-oriented but there were a couple of times where I laughed at the 'creepy' parts. For example
The short stories told via the main character, Kirie, taking place in the village Kurozu-cho are most of the time disturbingly weird. The mosquito ladies of the hospital, the spiral hair, the screaming clay, people snail, etc are all tied around the idea of 'spirals'. What is in each stories work greatly in that I got freaked out, despite laughing at certain parts. The horror aspects are complemented greatly thanks to the art style and inking.
The only downside to Uzumaki is the characters, they're dumb to the point I cant help but face palm at most of their reactions. Most of the time, people are unfazed by the weird shit at this village. Like in one of the chapters, someone asks if they're ok to the person who just extended their bodies to inhuman proportions where they should die.
After finishing Uzumaki, I can honestly say, my psyche has been disturbed greatly. Only other manga that made me feel like that was Ai-ren.
To combat that, I've been reading Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. While it started out uninteresting, it got funnier past chapter 10. I now know why my lil sister was excited about the anime. The characters are damn hilarious.
