I should probably clarify that I read this purely because it has the word 'maou' in it and this is way too much fucking time dedicated to analysing what is basically a failed attempt at a hentai
Maou no Hajimekata - 1-14
I should probably have guessed that this started life as an adult web novel because the whole thing is pretty much self-indulgent porn, and is also not very good.
Much like Log Horizon, Maou Maou Yuushuu, and Overlord, the protagonist of our story is a three-steps-ahead genius whose knack for preparation and knowledge of trivial details propels him towards power and fame. Unlike the protagonists of these other series (I presume for Overlord, at least), he's an unlikable shitbag who is introduced for as an old man regaining his youth and who then proceeds to rape and corrupt his way through a series of sexy ladies while pulling magic spells or psychological magic out of his arse the moment he needs to convincingly corrupt some noble fighter or whatever.
The story can't decide if he's a vaguely sympathetic ends-justify-the-means 'heroic evil' or an unrepetant "I'm going to destroy the world and also bone a lot of women whether they like it or not" evil (the actions lean towards the latter but his treatment by the story seems to favor the former), but in either case, he's basically all-powerful. And not all-powerful in a "He always wins eventually after overcoming some hardship" kind of way, but more like there's never any question he will win. The closest the series comes to establishing a serious enemy for him who he's not going to corrupt by the end of the chapter is a strategist lady who he literally incinerates by glancing at her. The rest of the time it's people literally exploding from how OP either he or his party is.
It also can't decide if it's meant to be erotic, straight up edgelord intense, or slapstick comedy, which is a pretty big problem when you end what is supposed to be a really intense 'breaking' of a character with a completely mood defying set of chibi scribbles. And, though it's obviously possible for sex to be both drama and comedy in the same series, when you've got rape as a theme of your work I think you should probably pick a god damn side, right? At least own the work you're making instead of trying to have it all ways.
Some interesting character designs though.
