So I read through all of Koe no Kitachi and thought a lot about it. Ya know, after I threw my chair threw my window in blind rage. Very good story, and the symbolism of the X all the way through was really great. Mashi was such a good turn. I thought he'd be a piece of shit, but holy cow did he have some of the best moments. That entire cast was great honestly. Even the shitty ones were pretty great in their own ways. The way plot progressed was that rare skill in these kind of low key stories where it was both unexpected yet made sense. Super tough line to walk.
But I need to talk about that ending... Everything was perfect, even Ishida's chosen career path which i thought was going to be stupid, but was actually super sweet. The only thing that infuriates me is... (forewarning, this spoiler could possibly ruin the entire series before you start it. I know it would have for me, and this was a great read, seriously I super recommend it!)

They never confessed in that dumb melodramatic cliche way these things tend to do. No 'I love you' or "I like you' or "Kiss me, I'm a huge idiot for not piecing shit together." GOD IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING! I really wanted them to be together, I think they're cute together, I think they have that great trait that makes me stand these kind of love stories where they bring out the best in each other. And not even a kiss. Sure they hold hands, but damn it she confessed half way through this series before! Ishida is just a dumby at the time. Spoiler within a spoiler if you haven't seen Clandad. It has a lot of problems, but those shits get married! Hell, she even gets pregnant. I can't think of any other cutsey highschool romance stuff that went that far. Just... guh! I hate it when things with heavy romance plots don't actually end with any romance. Yeah, subtext and of course they got together, but it only really counts when you see it on the page. And man, I was really excited for that page...

Sometimes I wonder what the japanese see in Black Clover. I mean I'm reading it, and it's generally a fun read, but it really doesn't have much substance.
Generally speaking, all these light novel of reincarnation to become omnipotent casanova in a unknown world is usually nothing more than male power fantasy.

The manga is what happens when you put Naruto, One Piece and Fairy Tail into a blender, and season it with focus testing. While its not bad nor particularly good, its the kind of manga Jump's audience eats up even though it feels quite artificial to the rest of us.

Kumo desu ga is what I expected from your usual ishitkai premise: (wo)man reborn as something else then using human intellect with their new body to turned the world around, but this time without the baffling self-mastubatory part (so far). Kinda like how the story executed, but man I really disliked the blatant use of video game world and term for cheap way out from showing the environment and the MC psychological state. If it's not because the MC form a strange bond with her "skill", I wouldn't convinced that this story will go anywhere good.
Jump's "high-mid tier seller" stable is emptying out, they are pushing newer 'action manga' to replace what they're losing.

They're not manga, but some good web novels in that reincarnated into a game genre are My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending and Accomplishments of a Duke's Daughter. Probably will have to check out that spider one.
