Angry Grimace
Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

It looks like an early attempt at a Picasso-style manga
IIRC it was some fan art sent in to Jump when some milestone with Soma happened.
Was a bunch of them and i could have sworn they were posted in one of the earlier manga threads.
Some of these manga adaptation of LN seems to not know the basic of comic storytelling smh
How much of that is due to the source material?
Well the Log Horizon manga at least from my quick time reading it had super fast pacing and assumed you'd either read the ln or seen the anime so I can't make a blanket "source material" comment. We've also seen some fairly decent SAO one off volumes and SAO is a dumpster fire.

How do you feel about Baki in-general? I love Baki, but have never checked out Scarface.
That doesn't answer my question as to whether the manga Shengar read have bad storytelling due to their source material or not though.
Or was that just an attempt at #NotAllLightNovelAdaptations?
yknow
ive no idea.
like, if one asked me to point out at least a single thing that i think they do well, i'd be hard-pressed to find it. Would have to settle for the violence.
On the other hand, if i were to write all that it does badly, then the words would flow like amazon.
I guess i'm just hate-reading it, gods only know why.
Scarface is just the author trying really hard to show how swole and utterly awesome hanayama is, so if you wanna see him wrassle a shark, you might enjoy it.
No I agreed with his comment quiet a few ln -> manga have bad pacing or bizarre plot changes. My point was that the source material being of good or bad quality is seemingly irrelevant as there are examples of good/bad lns making bad/good manga adaptations. I think a bigger reason for mediocre manga adaptations of lns is probably because the majority of mangaka who are good in the field would probably rather make their own original series as opposed to doing an alternate take on an established property. People like Murata and his adaptation of OPM don't seem to be that common. The same issue above can apply to anime -> manga adaptations as well.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
I don't understand people bemoaning the state of manga. There is so much good stuff out there that I read all the time and so much of it is good. In fact, so many new series coming out have been either excellent or some of my favorite to read. And it's in a ton of genres too! There's so much out there!

It's just a concept manga of a concept manga from a real manga.Money and Intelligence 1
That's a winner of a title.
The manga itself ehhh i dunno. It has a pretty high concept idea but you have to accept a lot of bullshit to buy into it. I forsee plot-holes aplenty.
It's really easy to think manga is in a bad state if you only look at things at a glance.Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

Mono-Eye (NSFW doujin)
Came expecting mono-eye(s), instead I got yandere yuri. I'm legitimately unsure whether that's an upgrade or not. The plot/art/doujin itself wasn't anything stellar, but the subject matter made it worth reading regardless.

"Omg nothing but adaptations of visual novels about a loser dying and being reborn in a fantasy world!"
You know what would be neat? Adult LN getting hentai adaptations. There has to be tons of good stuff after all.
If you hear anime fans complaining about LN animes being popular, then you would think LNs would give a different view.Is there any? I always thought LN was simply japanese YA.
