At that moment I was kind of lulled into false sense of security for these characters. Even just a page or two before it started happening I had no idea it would go that way. But yeah, I did think that
the king's death
would happen relatively soon, not necessarily in Vol 4 but maybe as soon as Vol 5. No clues as to the specifics, but just kind of a general inkling that something pretty drastic could perhaps mayhaps happen that forced their hands to act rashly.

It's funny, even six months ago I never would have pictured some fat fuck with a combover entering the picture and shaking up Jojolion like this. The Aphex Twins were pretty weird / sudden and their level of violence surprised me too, but not like Damo. This dude does not play.

The part with Josefumi thinking about his past and admitting to Kira he nearly gave him up was well done. I liked this chapter a lot.

On a different note, seems like Viz licensed Tomie and will be doing a hardcover omnibus for release later in the year. This is one of my favorite Ito works, and the previous English releases have been out of print forever, so I'm pretty happy about this.

I'd like to buy the full set of FMA and reread that again as well, but I heard not-so-good things about the physical release.

I noticed nothing wrong with the physical version of FMA, and it's quite easy to get the whole collection cheap via Ebay (I got mine for about $110).

I couldn't even tell you anymore what bad things I read about it, just always had it in the back of my mind when thinking of purchasing it.
Might just get it the next time I see it for a discounted price.
On the other hand, I should also watch Brotherhood one of these days.
Not enough time for all the good stuff.
