they also tend to have better character development than all the other shitty characters though.

Like, when a character is done right it's done right. If a character is badly done than it's the author's fault rather than the fault of the trope. Making blanket statements like "tsunderes suck" doesn't really hold up. Sounds like you just don't like that trope, which is fine I guess.
