Putting the breaks on Legends of the Galactic Heroes, as about halfway through things enter a perfect stopping point, and going to get back to reading Teppu.

Teppu has such interesting characters.

Book Girl and the Captive Fool (Light Novel) - in my continuing inability to get any sleep whatsoever, I decided to just sit down and read Book 3. Hm. The biggest praise I can give this story above the others so far is that I immediately had to re-read segments when I reached the end. It's weird. In a sense, it's the most straightforward "mystery" going on (to be fair, there isn't one in the same sense as the first two). Sure, the occasional twist and turn but since we're going through the same themes of love and hate, it's easy to follow through it overall. On top of that, the book involved is at the very core of the story itself so most of the setup is given away. It's just a matter of getting the right details to plug in.

But the final reveal actually got me and changed things. So bravo.

As for the story itself, the angst got upped to 11 and then some. It feels appropriate, though, since this is the mid-point of the series and a lot of the angst gets resolved. In a way, this has the happiest end so far ... sort of. Kind of. As far as happy and these stories can go, anyway. If nothing else, it feels the most sweet of the bittersweet endings thus far? Yeah. We'll go with that. So yeah, love triangle plot with some past trauma and hatehatehate to fuel things. A winning combination thus far.

I feel bad for Nanase but it looks like Book 4 is for her and she definitely has some past issues too so that should be interesting. Which is good since she needs something nice to happen for her since thick headed protagonists and all. And she better be winning girl ;__; I'm allowed to dream right?

so looks like I get to jump right into the next book instead of sleeping again I'm never sleeping again apparently rip

Still developing this premise. Everyone is given the real names of their targets, but in-school everyone is known by aliases. If you kill the wrong person you're executed, so no massacres - it's a precision game.

Decided to read an Akito selection because the cover looked nice and it was actually available in English. Too bad it's boring as sin. A boy keeps getting confused for a girl, and is being hit on by every single guy he comes across. There is some sort of RPG-ish guild story going on with exploring a dungeon, but really, it's just a dull read.
