Book Girl and the Wayfarer's Lamentation (Light Novel) - Book 5. The big turning point. So much happens. There's no mystery, really. Just angst. Hate. Love.
Hate.
We repeat a lot of the same relationship notes. In a way, it's fairly predictable with all the hate and loathing buried here; warped feelings around the idea of an intense hatred and tortured souls. But, at the same time, I think I want nothing less than those kinds of broken people. So it's hard to say if I'm really annoyed at it or anything. Besides, I'm fairly good at not caring about those sorts of things when actually engrossed in something. It's just the after-the-fact thing, I guess.
I will say that part way through I had to find something to hit while hoping very much that the death flags raised weren't what I was thinking they were. And, come the end, I'm not sure where I stand on that regard. Well, we'll see I guess. Maybe I shouldn't even be surprised at all and only have myself to blame. Which is most likely the case.
Well, anyway, the story itself wraps up everything (?) involving Miu and Konoha's past. Since there's no real mystery here, it's pretty much just full-on drama train the entire ride, complete with all the bad decisions you'd expect. Part of me wants to say that it wraps up a bit too cleanly ("clean" being a relative term, I suppose) but, eh, I guess this is fine. The tease for Book 6 I guess means we're finally starting Tohko's past and seeing where that lands us.
I'd say now I lose more sleep but I don't have Books 6-8 so fuck me for not buying them earlier when I said I was going to oops
"I really do want to be a tree."
