Beach confessional scene was really sweet and scenic since beach confessions with close contact and the sound of waves, and a sunset is really heartwarming and sentimental. A bit of the backstory could have been trimmed down to make more time for action.
But as usual in these type of manga, the extras should give us much interesting action.

This match actually ended up more hype than Soma and Alice's. There's no clear cut winner here.
Megumi being read to be a 'nice girl' wasn't a development I expected, but am glad it happen. Building more into that would make her character a whole lot more interesting.

She got sidegirled with the loss, she'll just be one of the audience members/Soma fans when the Erina arc kicks off.

Mitsuro Kubo prove that she can make variety of great cast. There's a lot of character in here, and most of them are memorable. The comedy is tight, the action scene is well done. The final arc is a bit let down, since it change from grounded reality into a bit of mystical stuff involving tattoo. And, this being Mitsuro Kubo manga, the love story between Hero and Heroine is not anyway resolved in satisfying manner...Why she do this ;_:

Just a couple of months after Soma started people were complaining to the author on twitter that Erina wasn't getting enough attention. He replied saying that she will be hugely focused on latter in the story.
Hopefully the time is after this tournament since she is way better than Tadokoro.

I don't think it really matters. I think soma is pretty much almost all about Soma's developement, but tadokoro always had the second spot in terms of showtime of her development. It's only this arc that the other characters get any hints of development really.
Also Erina hasn't mattered for a long time now. Dunno if you guys noticed. Maybe she'll have more of a row when soma reaches the elite 10, but I really don't see tadokoro getting sidelined at all.
