Naruto is over

finally. it was a long and heartrending journey but Kishimoto-sama got there. it all started with this manga, a friend told me "hey check this out, it's about ninjas" - it was love at first sight. in the end every character got shipped perfectly and the last fight between Naruto and Sasuke was so good and emotional that I can't stop cryi- sorry I can't do this, fuck this crap. 4/10

shounen garbage -1, next is Bleach and/or Fairy Tail.

I am a hero 1-140~ (spoilers duh)

I haven't read all the chapters yet but I'm close. I like how it feels very realistic, it takes a while to get the whole thing started but I think that's the right way to do it, give some solid character development and then make them face the threat and die; pretty much everyone dies in the first half, besides the Hero, of course. [2chan messages are a nice touch, lol.]
it's interesting to see what more and diverse characters are doing, I'd have complained about the pacing and that it's going nowhere but in the last chapters something big happens, or rather you understand more of what's going on. more specifically, Kurusu.

so yeah, well drawn, well written and quite interesting. I'll probably check out other stuff from Kengo Hanazawa after this.

I didn't care for the shipping stuff at all. I didn't care who ended up with who. Usually don't (exceptions include HIMYM and Harry Potter).

But seeing this salt is making me reconsider Naruto fans on the "fan hierarchy". Not Sonic level, but one could put them there.

I do want to see the mountains of death threats Kishi has gotten.

One post I read brought up a good point. Fans put up with the shit writing and plot holes only did because of the ships.

The type of fans to seriously care about shipping are the ones that don't care or even notice about plot holes.

Didn't we only just talk about spoiler tags pretty recently? The current system is fine for the most part.
To be fair there were a couple central spoilers lately that no rules applied to (like Fuuka's beep and the outcome of the Soma match), that's probably what he means by "there's no system"

dont we only use spoiler tags for raws

Yep, or when we all agree on it. We used spoiler tags when FMA was in it's final months for a few days after each chapter, so people could read it without getting spoiled or catch up with the series.

Attack on Titan 63

All this family stuff. Looks like Eren's dad was a dickhead?
But why did he need Freida's powers when he already had Titan powers? Can you double up or something?
Really, Eren is completely useless. He has the scream and everything, but if he died I wouldn't care. He's just so plain.

Attack on Titan 63

How can Historia fall for such an obvious manipulation (even if technically true)?

There's no reason for her to trust Ross action's.

Eh, we got Levi asking if Mikasa was related to Kenny before anyone enquired about Mikasa and Levi having the same last name. Sounds like their bloodline has some sort of special meaning as well, I wonder how that will tie into the plot.

That panel quoted above is a work of art.

Shingeki no Kyojin 63

So we get to know a bit more about the Ackerman's, Eren's dad and the Reiss power. Historia is an idiot.

Gintama 517

WOW! What a fight! That flashback just made it all the more epic too!

Well gosh, I didn't expect the picture to be hotlinked here. That definitely was a thing.

Can't say much about Eren's dad. We still don't know who's against who, or even how many who's there are, and frankly speaking we haven't seen a single side show a good trait yet during the entire manga.

Attack on Titan 63

So the Reiss family are a bunch of wizards and the Ackermans have superpowers or something. I suppose I should reread this to see if I'm missing anything important but I can't really bring myself to care.

Magi 246

It's pretty amazing how Magi shifts back and forth between boring boring and crappy arcs (usually involving magic users or whatever) and awesome stuff like this. Definitely going to reread this in the near future.

also

Ore Monogatari

fictional relationships have been forever ruined

Dr. Hitomi's Infirmary 14

Cyclops moe 2strong. And I guess her sister is Tienshinhan
Where did that "Welcome home, would you like dinner a bath or me" thing even originate.

It's okay for an author to create disturbing imagery, but at least make it align with common sense. That image only makes my heaf spinning instead of repulsed.

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. Especially considering most of the ships seem to be there just for the sake of pairing characters randomly.

Even heartwarming and sentimental stories from kitoh mohiro has to be born from some tragedy.

Enjoyed this a lot though. Last story was probably my favourite one. Really liked its theme of how the obstacles and detours of life shape who we are.

Will be compiling a new list soon!

Naruto was shipping wars for so fucking long and the author milked it by having Naruto just kinda forget to show stuff.

To be fair to Kishi he did say there would be no romance in part 2 of the manga and he stuck by that. Probably why the shipping wars got so out of hand, when nothing is explicit the fans try to infer things from every little moment.

72-year-old Yoshiyuki Tomino, the outspoken creator of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, revealed in his online magazine “Tomino Ryū no Tomino” that he is not a fan of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga. Tomino wrote that while he applauds Isayama for using his experiences as a victim of school bullying to inspire his work, he otherwise found Attack on Titan's art crude, grotesque, and comparable to pornography. Tomino stated that he doesn't even want to talk about the series, let alone read it.

Tomino wrote the following compliments for Isayama:

Attack on Titan is a work that straight-out conveys the author's mood.
On one hand, One Piece is a shonen manga that masterfully lets tens of thousands of people enjoy its content easily. Attack on Titan is a very personal manga to the author, and is very difficult to read. I've seen the author's television news appearances once or twice, and I finally understand what kind of person he is. He has said that because he was bullied in the past, now he uses his manga to let out those feelings of resentment. I do have to say, though, that I am glad that he collects pictures of people with unfavorable faces for reference to draw Titans. In other words, the entire manga IS NOT just the author's mood or feeling.

Even though he says that he's bad at drawing, he makes sure to work hard to draw the thing he hates the most, and still serializes the manga. This is because he is working first to become an author then a manga creator.

It's almost Saturday night here :(

I think, in my humble opinion, getting a new list ready before the weekend starts ( your timezone is fine ) is ideal.

Hmm, alright. I thought that starting at this time (it's saturday night where I am too) makes sense seeing that this was when I started the weekly read, but making it before the weekend makes much more sense. I'll start posting the list on friday night beginning next week.

Still, onto week 2!

Shinonome Yuuko wa Tanpen Shousetsu o Aishite Iru by MORIHASHI Bingo

As always, hope that it's mostly new stuff for most people.
