7 Seeds 110 - End of Minor Heat
So I have mixed feelings on the last few 10 chapters or so.
The character arc for Ango was extremely satisfying, from his continued failure to deal with other humans to him being faced with the fact that, for all his talk of thinking for himself, he had been limited in his ability to see the world outside of the box his teachers had created.
However I really disliked the "we have to turn off the countdown" plot, both it's premise as well as in execution. Without going on how clichéd it was, it added nothing in particular to the story, everything that happened in terms of character growth could had been done with the already existing "escape the ship" premise.
The section where they tried to deactivate the shutdown was completely out of place, the security questions were bizarre but easy to reply for plot convenience reasons (why was there a picture of a cat?), and having bracelets with the codes is such a bizarre thing that I have a hard time commenting on.
It all felt like a puzzle out the "Zero Escape" series but without the justification of being a videogame.
The same goes for the bacteria chase, the speed at which the bacteria started spreading, and the fact that it was literally chasing Natsu (as amused as I was with the justification for that), made the entire situation hard to take serious.
I'm mostly glad that this arc is done. Even if I'm frustrated that the author ended the arc at a c!iffhanger with Angon admission of Hana death.
Now we're going to a new arc. As suspected Hana is actually still alive, not a big fan of the fake death situation, but I'll take it.
The young Hana chapter broke all levels of cute.
Your knowledge of things always surprises me.
