What do you guys think of these Maruti Oleos in grey leather?

I like them. But a girl with better fashion sense than myself said these shoes have a douchy quality. ;)

fucking disgusting.

also, 'good leather jacket for under $350' is the biggest oxymoron on the planet.

Fashion-GAF!

I need a new pair of casual shoes and it has to be a pair that can support my flat feet.
Problem is, they all look like abominations.
Another thing is: they have to support insoles.

Any suggestions?

Can you get any shoes and throw some dr. Scholl's supports in?

Ignoring the fact that it's boiling hot at the moment, I struggle to find winter hats that suit me but I think this one I just bought does:

I also bought this bag. Not to everyone's taste, but I like it.

I guess I could (I had to google dr. Scholl's).
I've never really worn proper shoes for flat feet, mostly just sneakers that feel relatively firm and put my insoles in them.
But I feel I should get some adequate shoes this time, or atleast a pair that's close to suitable.

Seersucker is legit in the south, but I don't know about a $130 suit...
Yeah, it'd scare me off if it wasn't $270 at regular price, and $400 during the summer. Found a review at Dappered that was pretty positive, with the only negative being the high ($400 at the time) price.

Though I'm still debating whether I should pick up the cotton/twill one instead (50% off $400). A khaki cotton/twill seems more versatile, but I'm thinking the seersucker would turn heads when I go back home and bust it out during the summer.

Do you really spend $700 on a single pair of boots? More power to you if you can afford to, but at that price for footwear, I would have to be so rich that money would be meaningless for me to do so.
Most I've spent is, I think, 350 quid for a pair of wingtips, which was a graduation/signing bonus/reallifebeginsnow gift to myself. The thing with spending 400+ on shoes specifically is that they will last you 20 years if you maintain them, resoling every few years and whatnot. It's not really analogous to other pieces of clothing that won't last that long. It's getting cliched, but shoes are an investment.

I wouldn't spend a thousand bucks on video games each year, but tonnes of people on this forum seem to find enjoyment in it. Spend on whatever you like, and just remember that you're tremendously lucky to be able to afford it and don't look down at people who can't/don't.

e: Shit, they have a lug sole? Gonna be a decade before you have to resole.

Heh, you could buy three pairs of Red Wings for that price.

And they still wouldn't look as nice as an Alden wing tip, cap toe or Indy boot.

I say this as an Iron Ranger owner myself.

I felt kind of bad having to say hated all the top shop tshirts so I just didn't bother!

The jean trousers are jank and those chinos seem to be aimed at post-secondary school kids, "carrot" style trousers are just fugly as far as im concerned!

I try to avoid Topshop in general as the quiltiy is dire, If I was forced to shop in one highstreet shop forever I think id go with Zara..

Found a tailor in town so ill be picking that suit up and getting it altered. Seems my best option at this point as I cant really afford to drop more than £150 all-in for one and I ned it for next week.
Cant wait for October so I can actually buy some new bloody stuff..

Chinos are okay. Jeans are ugly, especially the yellow ones.

Cardigans are okay. I'm not a fan of graphic tees to begin with, and none of those changed my mind.

yeah, the chinos are the only thing really worth getting imo; those sweaters would look better in a stiff wool, as is they look like women's clothing.

If you want bright yellow pants and are a true 30 I have some OG helmut lang cords I'll send you for shipping cost.

It's unlikely I'd actually go for all or any of these for now as I'm not a big fan of Topman but they showcase the sorta things I'm looking for atm. If you have variations or better ideas in the same style then please do suggest. Especially boots.

Have a question for the regular posters in this thread.

I need a pair of shoes that I can wear with my jeans (black/grey/dark blue Levi 514's and 505's), but I'm trying to move past my normal wear (Van slip on's/black canvas on white sole and some Nike SB's) into something a bit more, mature, is the word I'm looking for. Something within the 80-90 dollar range would be great. I have a bit of extra cash for some nicer shoes, but not crazy nice. any recommendations?

I'm not sure if you're still wanting sneakers or something, but if you're looking for something more formal, yet still a little casual, suede wingtips might do:

Do you research, buy from a top rated/legitimate seller, triple check measurements, profit.

absolutely agreed. just recently started doing this and it is awesome. the best part is you can then send them in for resoling and repair for about $100 for the higher end shoes and you'll get back a brand new shoe basically.

I've got the sneakers thing down. I'll probably buy another pair for school wear and stuff, but I was looking for a shoe that I can wear out to social events and dates. Those look great though. Do these sorts of shoes work well with jeans or will I need to think about picking up a few pairs of slacks (I've never been a guy to wear slacks, but I figure no better time than the present to change some things up).

Yeah, they look awesome with jeans and make you look more refined. I used to think I could only pull off jeans w/ regular sneakers, but after some experimenting, there are plenty of other options.

get them in taupe, a little dirt and some blood and you're Ryan Gosling!

But real answer, for something more mature I would look at a boot similar to something like this. I personally feel cap toe is the best look.

Anything suede will look fantastic with jeans. Suede wingtips look phenomenal with dressed-up jeans. Bucks will look good dressed-down. Just dont wear them in the rain. Any plain ol blucher or chukka will look good with jeans as well. And all of these can do double-duty with chinos.

Those laces are hideous on that boot, though. If you get those, invest in some waxed ones and swap them out.

boat shoes are far too casual for what the poster wants. Boat shoes should be treated as if they were sandals, imo. Laid-back chinos, boat shoes, and a polo (preferably untucked)? Yes. Boat shoes, chinos/jeans with a tucked in sportshirt and maybe a jacket? Oh hell no. That's loafer territory.

Hi!

Need a pair of normal looking shoes, went to like 5 different shops and all they had were either ugly as sin or uncomfortable.

Don't need no specific brand or anything just some ideas.

They should be comfortable, match with blue jeans and look nice but not too fancy. And I don't like pointy shoes. At all.

Oh and they should be kinda warm (not necessarily winter proof but something I can wear when it gets colder).

This is btw exactly what I DON'T want:

Jj276.jpg

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Really like those beige Clark Desert boots, are they comfortable and warm?

went to Nordstrom and tried them on....loved em, so I bought em :)

Thanks you guys, for the help! Although I'd wish it stop raining already so I could wear them out. Also, what's the best way to store these? Should I keep them wrapped up in the box when I'm not wearing them or out in the open?

Speaking of water damage, is there something that will help protect against that? or am I doomed to just wait for nicer weather?

Nice, I might try to grab those as well. You should probably buy some suede waterproofing spray and get a suede brush in case they get dirty/wet. When you're not wearing them, you can also stick a shoe tree in them to keep them shaped properly.

You can get sprays to treat suede with but......................

honestly, I just wouldn't wear them when its wet out.

Make sure you pick up a suede brush as well
