The post PPV highlight reel has them show the famous Hogan bodyslam on Andre immediately followed by footage of Kane's slam on Khali, they certainly tried.

According to the writers that did a LAW interview about this ppv, the original idea was for a Hogan/Big Show match but Hogan left the company.
Didn't Big Show leave the company right around this time too? And I remember hearing that they were going to do Hogan-Khali as the Battle of the Billionaires match.

Big Show killing Rey at No Way Out was to write Rey out of the storyline and to make Mayweather a good guy coming to the aid of his friend.

Aja Kong (c) vs Dynamite Kansai - WWWA Title Match - (AJW 08/25/93)
HUGE inter-promotional match here as AJW's champion Aja Kong, holder of the WWWA Title, the most prestigious belt in Women's Wrestling, takes on JWP Openweight Champion Dynamite Kansai. JWP began life just a year previously, yet had already grown to become the no.2 women's promotion in Japan, right behind AJW. For much of the early 90's, both groups benefited from these big inter-promotional feuds (even if it was to prove somewhat detrimental to women's wrestling at large), marked by classic matches like Kong vs Kansai. The build here is slow and steady but, half-way through, it's obvious this is a classic, the excellent finishing stretch cementing it as a classic. Highly recommended.

Eh, something about DoR 2 always felt off to me for some reason. Good game no doubt, but I just liked the first DoR better.
Oh man, I was at this Wrestlemania (23, on the stream), way up in the nosebleeds. Couldn't see anything but it was a lot of fun.
EDIT: Though I do feel some guilt now for paying for something that involved Donald Trump. But in my defense, "The Apprentice" was a pretty good show at the time.

Konsecutive Kane is the most reliable star in WWE history, yet his only WM main event is a false one gained through rewriting history, and he got squashed in it.
I'm not as good as SoulPlaya when it comes to this stuff, where are you soul?!
Definitely the more fun series in multiplayer though.
Oh yeah, that no selling stuff was so annoying in multi man matches, everyone breaking out their specials and no selling each other so matches went on and on.

It's like a faster paced version of those games, not quite as good as No Mercy but still it's close.

Submissions work fine though which is lucky because I always play wrassling games as a submission specialist.

He vanished shortly after Christmas, maybe the Christmas Creature got him!
Actually it was much later but it feels like a lot longer.
Unfortunately while DoR2 fixed the no selling stuff it had to add that submission system that added an extra counter chance making submission finisher harder to pull off without getting screwed over by chance.
I never liked DoR 2 as much. Hated the choose your bland character storymode (though the actual mode is more fun, the choice of characters sucked) and yep, the higher level AI always countering submissions is dumb.
It still amazes me that Yukes made these two games. I can understand why they stuck with the Smackdown branding from PS2 but why oh why when you combined it all into one multiplatform release would you stick with that engine?
