Holy CRAP.

Akiyama beat Sasaki YESTERDAY? lolololololololol

Ah, not cool - I was hoping Kensuke Office would have a fair run with both the belts, now look whats happened. NOAH's been awesome lately, and in no small way has that been because of the efforts of Kensuke, Nakajima and freaking KENTA - his matches against Nakajima & his match against Danielson are all easy early contenders for match of the year.

Offtopic question: Anyone knows a website with diagrams and information about wrestling moves ?
IE: What is a DDT ,why is called? and stuff like that. (I love DDTs)

The true winner of the match.

and surfing youtube, came across one of the best Mania moments ever.

I haven't watched wrestling since the WWE botched the WCW, NWO AND DX angles... But I will say watching that Macho King clip reminds me of why I loved wrestling before. Wrestling moments are always so much more epic in retrospect.

Edit: Watching part 3 of that match, Warrior just took 5 top rope elbows and still kicked out of the 3 count. Man they made him too invincible back then. I hate seeing Macho Man always getting the short end of the stick, you can tell he has like 10 times the talent of Hogan and Warrior but the WWE never gave him a chance at the top.

NOAH has been great lately but to be honest, I think Sasaki isn't all that great. I honestly think he's a black hole of talent. I remember his Tokyo Dome match against Kawada way back then... it sucked and mostly due to Sasaki. And you know Kawada can do in the ring too. Nakajima, on the other hand, is fantastic. No idea why he lost the belt so quick, though. =/

We really need more people who watch puro on this thread. I think I want to start educating myself on NJPW and the new AJPW. Though why is Mutoh the TCC still? And at one point his alter ego was the IWGP champion at the same time. lolololololol

Not sure if Kensuke Office are done with Noah now. Strange that Nakajima dropped the title so soon. I was hoping to see Nakajima vs Danielson first before a rematch with Kenta.

In the build up before the title match Kenta did say that this would be the last fight with Nakajima so fued is now done.

Sunday's battle was amazing! Nakajima has showed he can match Kenta and now Kenta has to go the extra mile to beat him. I was going crazy when watching this on the train, Marking out like it was a shoot. It had plenty of heat, pleaty of stiff strikes (Man this match was stiff) and told a whole story of a 12 month battle in the ring.

People need to watch this stuff man. This is what pro-wrestling is about for me!! Your gonna find it hard too see a better match than this in 2009..

Katsuhiko Nakajima vs KENTA (GHC Jr Title)

Why is most people on here dont watch puro? Is it just because the lack of english or do people just not like the Puro style compared to the lighter WWE style?

Outside of some joshi puro, I've been out of the loop for so long and I really don't know where to jump back in.

I'm watching the NJPW vs NOAH tag on 3/1. Saguira/Go vs Nakamura/Milano AT.

Its pretty good so far. Nakamura showing more fire here than when he did against Muta where he lost the TCC. =P
That tag match was pretty damn good, had a good finish too, though KENTA totally stole the show. How about Kobashi's return match? He was moving around the ring like a fucking mummy, poor bastard. I'd love to see him and Misawa have one more go, but damn it's gotta be a year away.

This is off-topic but I finally watched "The self destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" today and it was awesome. I had no clue that he was so hated by all of the other wrestlers. I also didn't realize how horrible his in-ring ability was. I was too small to pay attention to his in-ring ability when i was a kid.

Overall I recommend it.

The WWE has released the Boogeyman... Again.

I swear this is like the 3rd time.
and they allowed kane to go over him. After all the people boogeyman has buried you would think allowing someone like Tyson kidd or even Jack Swagger to squash him would be wise, but Kane. Does he need to be pushed?

I think you mean the IWGP belt. =P Regarding your previous question, I think Mutoh/Muta has held different titles under different persona like 2-3 times now. So weird.

I watch a ton of Puro btw so I'm game for discussion. =)

Blah on Nakamura still. That boring, toned down shoot style just sucks. Misawa is going to kill him (no way Makamura gets that win). Go Shiozaki is so awesome though. Shiozaki is getting that slow build up in the classic AJPW/NOAH style, but I think they need to start pulling the trigger sooner. He is their only real future outside of some others. Then again, both NOAH and NJPW are suffering from a youth drought.

I am a Nakamura fan. I have liked him since he was a young lion. I thought the IWGP title match vs Tanahashi was a great match. All his matches vs Tanahashi have been very good. Shinsuke Nakamura & Hirooki Goto vis Mitsuharu Misawa & Takashi Sugiura at the dome show was good also. Nakamura looked great!

Nakamura vs Sugiura has to happen as Sugiura is awesome!

Go Shiozaki has to be the next HW star in Noah. His finish on Milano was brutal! Noah needs to find some new stars.

New Japan should forget about the whole NJ vs TNA stuff as Japan has no interest in TNA. These TNA wrestlers can't draw and I fail to see what New Japan gain from this.

Batista recently conducted an interview with PhilStar.com and talked about appearing at WrestleMania 25. Despite initial reports that he'd be out for another two-three months, Batista has recently said that he would be physically able to go by the time WM 25 comes around. However, he said the following about whether he'll actually be apart of the show or not: "I think I’ll be physically ready to go by that time but WrestleMania is our biggest show of the year and we really build up for it. The storylines are built up for Wrestlemania. Without much time to be built up with a storyline, I don’t think I’ll be fortunate enough to be a part of it."

I think Nakamura is okay. His bout against Muta fucking sucked great large goat nuts, though. All it was was Muta giving the guy a dragon screw leg drop every 5 seconds. Man that match blew. =/

I'm glad to have seen more of what he could do in the tag match I posted above. I will also watch his stuff against Tanahashi. Tanahashi, from the little I've seen, seems great.

Though I want Nagata to be champ again. <3

Because it's not on TV every week?

Japan and US are polar opposites for why they watch wrestling. You know that much.

Japan it's more about the "sport" of it. The match itself.
US it's more about the crap surrounding the match. The match itself is secondary. People follow characters, not wrestling.

You'll find even here, where we're all smart marks that we still discuss more of the stuff surrounding the matches themselves unless it's something really mindblowing.

I like WWE very much and even TNA. Its the problem with those promotions is that their booking can drive me crazy some times. And the fact that there are characters from both promotions I would like to see given a push but yet both promotions don't allow it. ROH needs to be a viable company once they hit TV in a few weeks so that maybe sometime in the future there can be honest competition again.

Puro companies have bad booking a lot as well, they aren't immune from that. But what helps them, under my eyes, is that they focus on the 'sport' of wrestling. Yeah yeah, wrestling is fake, lololololol, who cares. Its still very appealing to me and I can suspend my disbelief with no problems most of the time.

THAT AND HOLY CRAP WHAT AN AWESOME KICK NAKAJIMA GAVE TO KENTA WOOOOO

im pretty sure outcast watches it so he has something to bitch about on an internet forum, but to each his own.

Whos excited for TNA Tonight?

That was Muta's fault if you ask me. He is boring to watch, his knees are shot and the guy has about 5 moves these days. Tanahashi did get a better match out of Muta though but hey Tanahashi has been straight awesome for the last 18 months.

Muta is still popular but I dont watch his matches anymore.

Kenta got his hand up just in time to block it the best he could. That high kick would of KO'd him if he never.

You know Nakajima is well trained in Judo and had his first MMA match at the age of 15. It crazy that he is only 20 and is that good!

I don't follow TNA much anymore (mainly because I don't get Spike in Hi-Def).

I know last week someone was saying that TNA is becoming a huge "talk-fest" nowadays. I know when it first got a tv deal it was all about the wrestling which was awesome because it was a break from WWE style shows.

Is this true? TNA has become less about wrestling and more about talk/story?

TNA, ridiculous tonight. After posting last weeks stats on how many matches they had in total airtime, tonight MAY have been even LESS. I don't even know the last time actual members of the main event mafia wrestled in an ACTUAL match on TV. There were like 4 matches on TV, three were filler, and 1 was a squash match. Here was the entire 4 matches:

- Beer Money vs. LAX for the tag titles (DQ finish) just to set up Team 3D coming out to call out
- Matt Morgan vs. Shane Sewell in a squash match for Morgan just to call out Abyss for a match after
- 8 Various TNA knockout in 4 way tag match
- Motorcity Machine guns vs. random Asain guys I haven't seen on TV before, to set up a video game character (Suicide) to jump in and beat them up afterwards

That's IT. 4 matches, none of them really worth a damn, used just to set some promo or something up afterwards. I'm guessing total match time was 15-20 minutes of 2 hours.

Haha, yeah. The kid is talented. Can't wait to see how he progresses year from now.

I'm now watching Nakajima vs KENTA back in February when Nakajima won the title in the KO show. Its pretty good so far. Nice intensity.

And I'm starting to watch a bit of NJPW again. I'll watch any damn match with Nagata in it. I want to see him challenge Tanahashi for the title.

Both WWE and TNA are a bit of a mess right now. WWe is the middle of an identity crisis with their switch to a PG-13 product (which sucks considering WHAT it is... simulated violence). TNA is just a plain mess with the best damn talent roster out there... which is a shame.

I do like the puro style, it's just not something that most people gravitate to for some reason. I WISH ROH would become more of a known name, but that's not going to happen on the network they have a deal with. If you set up a dish in your backyard, you'd probably broadcast to more homes than HDNet.

What I like about puro is that it doesn't insult your intelligence the way WWE and TNA do. Just give us more quality matches and less stupid. TA-DA! Hell, I just wish TNA would look at their own tapes from 2005-2006!

Holy shit, RAW's script for Monday got leaked! :lol :lol :lol

Vince is going to go fucking ballistic, this is the biggest leak yet. :lol

http://nodq.com/wwe/238368818.shtml

EDIT: Actually it was this past weeks, but it included some JBL stuff that didn't happen and will this Monday. Still, Vince is going to be pissed. :lol

It has stuff that wasn't on TV they are going to use next week numbnuts.

According to a RAW script that was leaked from the March 2nd broadcast, there was a planned segment with JBL announcing his WrestleMania plans. Here’s what JBL’s promo was scripted to say:

“Shawn Michaels isn’t the only one with Wrestlemania aspirations. I believe it is my destiny to do something historic on April 5th and after watching clips of Steamboat last week, I now know what is is - walk into my home state of Texas as the NEW Intercontinental Champion. I will bring honor and prestige back to that Title and have what will become the greatest Intercontinental Title match of all time. Earlier tonight I went to Vickie Guerrero who told me if I could beat CM Punk in a non-title match tonight; I’d face him for the Title next week. This is what you call controlling your own destiny - something most people including everyone here don’t have the backbone to do. Like it or not, you will all be witnesses to the first chapter of my TRUE destiny when I face CM Punk and…”

At that point, CM Punk was set to make his entrance before RAW went to commercial. The match was going to end in Disqualification with JBL picking up the win. The segment was scripted to happen after Shawn Michaels’ backstage segment and before the Randy Orton in-ring segment. According to the script, the match was produced by Mike Rotunda.

WWE cut the entire segment out of RAW this week probably because of time constraints. Neither Punk or JBL appeared on RAW this week and we don’t know yet if they will continue the angle on this coming Monday night.

Raw is coming to New Zealand in July, I was thinking of going - but can someone explain this to me? Over the duration of 5-6 days, they do 1 show in NZ, and 4 shows in Australia, all RAW. So what goes on in these shows? Do they do the same thing at each show, and air the the best takes, or do they time delay each show over a month on TV or what? Just house shows?

JavyOO7 said:
Dude, did KENTA get a concussion at part 4 or something? He looks dazed. Poor guy. :(

Yeah I think he was legitimately out you know. He did very well to finish the match.

I remember he was also KO'd in ROH in that 3 way vs Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson.

Probably house show's with a different card every night i would assume. Might tape a raw with that many dates although the they could tape in the u.s. before they leave. International shows always seem to be fun.

WWE officials are planting a number red herrings in order to keep their creative plans a mystery to Internet wrestling fans. The word backstage is that almost anything could be planted. This is also being done to discover the individuals within the company leaking confidential information to the people behind wrestling news websites.

As of late, WWE head Vince McMahon has grown increasingly upset over the number of backstage news leaks finding its way onto the Internet. More so than ever before, there is a bigger company directive on stopping Internet leaks. McMahon is actually said to be "obsessed" with stopping stories from leaking out of his company and officials underneath him have made that fact very clear to everyone.

:lol

I am thinking of going to wrestlemania. Club level seats, about 130 bucks. Just getting one ticket and hanging out.
