Where did this Q2 talk come from? Didn't the press release say something like "Here's a bunch of games comming in Q2 2005... oh and Zelda is still in development."?
Nope. The product page was updated to read Q2 2005.

megaton!

btw didn't miyamoto say at E3 that there is going to be a overhead view in dungeons, and a camera panning to 3D when you meet an enemy?

This means nothing to me. There's a big difference between actively developing a new Mario platformer and using a Mario model in gameplay experiments, and the latter is what they've been doing forever.

We've probably been seeing byproducts of those experiments though in the form of SM64 DS (as someone mentioned in another thread, SM64 II's ability to have multiple characters), and SMS (as a buddy platformer, and with classic levels).

I agree. And you can add Pikmin to that list if you're counting the 100 Marios demo as part of the Mario 128 lineage. And none of those have been the much awaited "Mario 128", because it doesn't really exist except as an idealistic concept in the minds of gaming enthusiasts. The way I see it, unless Nintendo releases a title that is titled "Mario 128 - FOR REAL - no, we really mean it!", this will go on forever.

I just think that Nintendo really wants to show the world with another classic mario game , but they have a hard time getting it right.

I don't think 100 Mario's had a direct influence on Pikmin, but rather an indirect influence if anything. Quite frankly, the development teams behind Pikmin and the 100 Marios demo conflict greatly.

hey shikamaru ninja, since you are here. How many people from EAD works on Zelda? I guess it's hard to know, but i have always been interested how big the teams are. How many did work on Wind Waker?

I think I heard that OOT took like 200 people... that's freaking nuts if true.

Sure if you count all the NOA, NOE, NCL people who "contributed" some small idea, oh and all the special thanks. The core Zelda team is no where as big.

There is no Mario 128.

I can't believe a goddamn word Miyamoto says about it. Also, I certainly hope that Zelda's graphics get a freaking lot of improvement between last and next year's E3, cause after playing MGS3 its certainly looking quite pathetic. Shit, The Boss's horse that appears for like 5 minutes is more detailed than Link's Epona. :P

Well that's probably because The Boss's horse appears for like 5 minutes. :\

Mario sunshine Japan ~ 800K
Zelda WW Japan ~ 750K

Bit more than that, both should be around 900k, Sunshine a bit past Zelda tho.

Minish Cap will do 300k by the time it's finished in Japan- Xmas is coming up. It should also do a million in the US without much trouble.

SHUT UP WITH YOUR LOGIC

Considering the detail in the enviroenments and the fact that the game is also rendering The Boss and Snake... well... 5 minutes = a relevant amount of time ;).

Dear Nintendo,

Please make Mario 128 200 levels of the cool ones in Mario Sunshine. You know which ones I mean.

Thanks,

I loved everything in Mario Sunshine except the hotel.

It's like injecting fun straight into your eyeball. To me :(

The first hotel level were you fight the big slime manta ray was good, also fighting the King Boo was fun.

The rest sucked
