Think about it guys

1] If you don't want random online Miis you can turn off that option in the Streetpass Plaza options.

2] If indeed all the online Miis would've given you a piece of puzzle you'd complete everything in half a day

3] Streetpass Miis are different from regular Miis (hatssssssssssss)

I have 50 SP hits and... about 200 Miis in the plaza, I think.
It's good that, if you save a regular (online) Mii it gets the fuck away from your plaza. :p or you can simply delete it, like i did with one.

With SP Miis even if you save them they don't get deleted. and it's such a rare thing that you don't want to!

Yeah I agree about not needing region specific communities. Was getting plenty of games on the main gaf one last night between 5 and 9 in the UK and there was quite a few people from regions outside of europe joining in. If we make them region specific it's just going to discourage those people from joining.

agreed.

I didn't notice lag issues either playing with WW players. just everyone jump on the main neogaf and it should go well.

edit: how do I unlock the last character on character select? 1 up from bottom right. I've beaten no 100cc cups (that's my girlfriends job) but got gold in all 150cc. only 1 or 2 stars on all of em though.

I just played wtih some people from AussiGAF and suddenly my 3DS deactivate hisself. It seems to happen when pushing the console downwards (w/o touching something). Though, it also happens in the 3DS menu. So it is not a problem of Mario Kart. Strange!

Added my code to the list. I'm based in the UK, please PM if you add me.

You get it for completing every cup in any CC, I believe.

Not true. I first placed every cup on 150cc and didn't get it. Does it involve
Mirror Mode
or the star rankings on cups?

Ah just checked, its 50cc specifically. That'll be a bit tedious if you've been acing 100/150cc! :p

edit: weird, just reading on at GameFAQs and some people unlocked him when doing 100cc and 150cc too... perhaps you're right and its a star related thing.

Just read further and it seems I was wrong... some people are reporting getting Mii at different times. I now have no idea how he's unlocked! Edited my earlier post.

I've noticed more than a few times online that I've bumped into people with a star or bullet bill and it had zero effect on them. Netcode seems a lot more iffy vs MK Wii.
I haven't seen this one, but in almost every race I see that a player in front of me touches an item box, the box is still there but by looking at the map you see that they've been given an item, it never happened to me in MKWii. And there's still the traditional player that seems to fall off the road but two seconds later is still ahead of you, due to the lag.

Added myself to the list as well, I'm in Canada. Feel free to add me, no pm required. I have no friends on my 3DS yet so looking to change that. :)

So I assume when joining a community it only ever connects you to local games? Because every time I see you guys talking about playing and join it never connects me to a match, and only starts when other Australians are online.

I mostly connect to WW games.

Whereas the Worldwide mode will allow you to join and spectate at any time, I think in community games you're gathered together into groups, and you have to wait for a group to finish a round of 4 gp matches (if they've already started racing) before you'll see them. I don't know if its different when you use the 'join a friend' thing from the OS friends menu.

Has anyone gotten SpotPass data besides the recommended communities? I'd like to have a TT race against 7 ghosts, just for fun.

OH MY GOD I HATE THE BLUE SHELL SO MUCH

EDIT: Thanks for the input guys.

Tons. I work in the city though, so I've got lots of ghost data.

So much bullshit.

Fuck you game. Fuck you.

This game is really only fun when you can convince yourself not to take it too seriously. It took a few incredibly frustrating moments yesterday to help me realize this. That doesn't mean I don't have the occasional outburst though. :p

You will say this every 2 - 3 games, and you might even close your 3DS and take a break to calm down... but you will keep coming back!

I don't understand it myself, I must be a masochist
It's so weird, in most competitive MP games I would be thinking about all of the cheap stuff that needs to get patched, but in Mario Kart that stuff totally makes the experience what it is. There are times when I curse the blue shell and despise it to the core but if I had the option to remove it I honestly wouldn't.

Thinking about frustrating moments, the most demoralizing thing happened to me last night in a GAF race. I was doing pretty poorly and was finishing up my final lap in fifth place out of six racers. As I rounded the final turn and headed for the finish line I heard the unmistakable sound of a blue shell headed towards me. It nailed me about 5 feet from the finish line and I watched the last place guy fly past me as I flailed around in the air. A fitting end to a crappy race, I would say.

It's the Mario Kart curse. It manages to be both one of the most addictive and rage educing games ever made. Where you can be in first for 90% of a race, only to have it all come undone on the last stretch of the very last match by a random blue shell.

Oh how I love/loath you Mario Kart.

I've also noticed that when it rains it freakin' pours. A blue shell is rarely enough, it seems.

I honestly don't mind the up and down nature of these games. There's a good feeling that anyone can always have a chance of winning, and playing Mario Kart it never feels like a procession where one guy creates an unasailable lead.

I had a couple of GAF races last night. Came 7th or 6th out of 7 in every race in the first 4 races. Second set of 4 I managed to win a race and came second overall, without blue shell or the like.

Just my opinion, mind.

Will add people from the list shortly.

THIS!

I think the goal is to be in second place for 90% of the race and then jump into first at the last second when the 1st place guy is getting shell-shocked.

Maturity, bitches.
Packing up at work so I'll be home soon. I'll be adding everyone on the list. It would be a bit silly if I didn't.

Either that or have a small enough lead that you can slam the brakes and share a slice of that blue shell goodness to a few of the guys behind you. ;)
