On that track, I find that going up along the antigravity path is much slower than just riding between the streetcars and drifting. It's how I was able to catch up and pass for first.

Cruiser weight or heavier on the karts that give you more speed seem to do the best at the moment.

Found I can hang with the gaf crowd now, seems like my average is about 5th. Managed to pull off 3 3rds in a row, broke one hundred points and then quit on a high

Starting in first place gives a huge advantage. As long as you don't get coins off the start and generally get a good stream of defensive items, it'll probably only take a blue shell to stop you.
