They announced this direct before they announced the price.Feels like a "please understand" response to the negative reaction regarding price
15 minutes of battle mode lolThey must be hiding quite a lot of stuff if they're going to talk about it for up to 15 minutes.
They need to explain why this stuff is worth 90€
Multiple worlds with their own huge map or they can get out. Mario Kart Campaign mode. Roadmap with new content that is offered for free. They need to explain why this stuff is worth 90€
I mean Forza Horizon had you going out offroad.. back when?Multiple worlds with their own huge map or they can get out. Mario Kart Campaign mode. Roadmap with new content that is offered for free.
I think they will just talk about online features I have no interest in.
Wow, I was actually thinking this too when they showed it. I hope we get a similar open world game with yoshis that's their version of Red Dead Online.15 minutes? That sounds really short. But Nintendo is cooking something, and it has to do with open world exploration.
This will be Nintendo's GTA 5 Online.
Normally you'd be right except that the bundle only features the digital game. I'm a physical collector and they kinda got me by the jewels here. I mean, I'm still gonna buy it because it looks great, but that extra $30 to have my own real copy of the game is kinda painful. They don't need to justify anything. MK8 sold over 70m copies for 60 dollars each, has a 92 metacritic, and has consistently charted in the top 10 game sales and often much higher each week for the last almost decade. I refuse to check but it is probably the highest selling Nintendo game of all time if you don't count pack ins and maybe even if you do.
If there was ever a game that didn't need to justify a higher price tag vs other games, it's Mario Kart and Grand Theft Auto.
This is to show people who are Nintendo/Mario Kart fans what the game will be like.
Also, if you buy the bundle the game is only 50 dollars, lol. EVERYBODY who buys Switch 2 should also buy this game so there really is no excuse to play 80 dollars for it. Just buy the bundle and get it for 50 dollars, cheaper than even MK8 is today. Reread that last sentence carefully as it is very important and relevant here. There is no reason at all not to buy the bundle and get this game for 50 dollars. If you tell me "I'll buy the console today and MK later" NO, just save your money and buy the bundle. This is why rich people keep being rich. Be wise with your investment and get the game via bundle for a mere 50 dollars. Your arguments are as weak as well water.

game development studio, small gamedevWhat type of studio are you in?
well instead of playing greats, make some greats. And good luck.game development studio, small gamedev
I saw a clip of some Toads that were by a track and when the kart hit them it bounced up, so it might be possible to have Main characters out in the world.I'm liking what I see in Mario Kart so far with the 24 players in a race, free roam where we see other civilian npc driving, walking etc. Hope they show even more unexpected stuff.
Don't think DK ends up being good enough for a direct.Would rather a Donkey Kong or Metroid direct. They've shown enough of Mario Kart.
Well each of us in my place had different tastes, me my self still using pc and ps5 occasionally, and we only unified by switch currently, good for laugh and bonding team (more often bullied each other for laugh)well instead of playing greats, make some greats. And good luck.
The Crew 2 and 3 will be better comparisons, because FH was still just different forms of racing or drfiting in almost all events.I mean Forza Horizon had you going out offroad.. back when?
Well according to some people, the switch 2 will be the death of nintendoWhat's up with this early mourning stuff Nintendo?
This argument boils down to "the game sold a lot, therefore $80 is justificable"They don't need to justify anything. 15 minutes of battle mode lol
One direct for one game? $90 for a game is insanity, everbody will buy it used, or use it as an example not to buy games.
Both will get their own Direct since both are their flagship titles. Metroid still doesn't have a date, Donkey Kong is clearly later on since Mario Kart will release first.Would rather a Donkey Kong or Metroid direct. They've shown enough of Mario Kart.
They better drop those damn prices !Gee ... I wonder what the chat will mostly be saying?
Use your:There is no scenario where I can imagine roaming around in an open world Mario Kart being fun
There is a UFO you can get beamed up into and control in the game, so we'll be flying around the map one way or another.
Unless they showcase it's a Mario Kart RPG or there will be no paid DLC I find it hard to justify that price. But we shall find out soon. This direct should showcase why this is the only game at launch, and why it's $80.
To be fair, it's the only Nintendo game at launch. There are quite a few third parties ones I'll want at launch day for Switch 2. That being said, if Nintendo were releasing this and Donkey Kong on the same day...I'd sooner buy Donkey Kong than Mario Kart. I get bored of them pretty fast. This direct should showcase why this is the only game at launch, and why it's $80.
This was kinda cool. But this is not the same Nintendo.
